Chapter 41: Christmas Day

New Chapter 41

Suddenly, Christmas Eve has quietly arrived, and the empty castle has finally gained some popularity.

When he woke up the next day, to Carl's surprise, there was a small pile of packages at the foot of his bed.

It was a lot more than he thought, he had secretly thought about who would send him gifts, Fred and George would, Lee Jordan, Cedric, needless to say, other than that, there should be none.

But judging from the number here, there are far more than these few people.

Carl picked up the paper bag on top, which was wrapped in a layer of Christmas gift paper, with a green ear Christmas tree and white snowflakes on a red background.

At the top, there is a beautiful line of flowers: "Polo to Carr". Karl's eyes widened, he didn't expect Polo to send Christmas presents as well.

Does the devil also celebrate Christmas?

When I opened the package, it was a brick, with some graffiti on it, and a letter: "From the vanished Berlin Wall, it represents the arrival of a good era, and I hope you will do the same in the New Year." โ€

Carl put the brick on the head of the bed, sincerely hoping that it would really bring good luck.

The second package was a large paper bag containing a large bag of candy.

"Merry Christmas to you, Peggy is sad to hear that you don't want to go back to London." - Aunt Rose.

Peggy was Aunt Rose's eldest daughter and was the same age as Carl, and for a long time, they were the closest siblings.

Carl touched the bag of candy and sighed softly.

It's unremarkable, but it's one of the reasons why he doesn't want to go back to London for Christmas.

Sometimes, he really didn't know how to deal with his relatives.

It's not that they don't love him, and he doesn't have the right to demand that they love him more than themselves.

So, it's time for it all to end.

Their lives, his lives, maybe the summer vacation should go and see them? Karl thought silently and opened the rest of the present.

In addition to a group of his relatives, several of his expected people did give gifts: Fred and George gave a pen, and Lee Jordan gave a medal with a "S" starting with the surname Karl, which, according to him, could also sparkle at night, so as not to be afraid of losing it.

Cedric, possibly to make Carl more interested in Quidditch, sent a primer on the rules of Quidditch.

In addition to them, the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff first-year gangs collectively purchased two gifts, and thanked Carl in a letter for taking care of them - although Carl never cared, he and Cedric's study group did help a lot of people.

Carl touched his nose and put away the letter that made him smile, it was undoubtedly the best gift he had received this year.

Mrs. Weasley also sent a sweater, an old style, with Carl's K on it, and a packet of toffee, which was made by Weasley's family.

Hogwarts had a big Christmas feast today - albeit in small numbers, just one Gryffindor, five or six Hufflepuffs, and one Ravenclaw.

They didn't use the house table today, the four tables were vacated on either side of the room, and a new, not-so-large, but still luxurious table was placed in the middle of the room, full of all kinds of food.

Dumbledore sat at the top of the new table, and Professors McGonagall and Flitwick sat on either side of them, smiling at the students.

There was a lot of food on the table, and there were a lot of firecrackers, and when everyone arrived, he took the initiative to pick up a firecracker, and after a burst of noise, a flying pigeon was exploded.

The students laughed and followed Headmaster Dumbledore's way of exchanging gifts with each other.

Hagrid also sat in the far corner of the table, gulping down his wine, which he undoubtedly had drunk a lot before Carl arrived, judging by his flushed face. Seeing Carl, Hagrid took the initiative to greet him: "Carl, do you want to drink a little?" โ€

Carl looked at him in horror, then at Professor McGonagall.

To Carl's surprise, Professor McGonagall didn't get angry, but chuckled, "Hagrid, wait until Carl is older!" โ€

After the Christmas dinner, the adults were so drunk that they didn't stop when the students left.

Carl agrees to Hufflepuff's invitation to call him to a snowball fight, and as soon as they leave the castle, Hattings suddenly appears.

He grabbed the corner of Carl's trouser leg and scratched and scratched.

Carl didn't care at first, until Hattings did it a second time, and he finally reacted.

He stopped: "I'm sorry, my cat ยทยทยทยทยทยท" Pointing at Hattings, his face a little ashamed, "He may need my help." โ€

The two Hufflepuffs were mild-tempered, smiled and touched Darks' head, and then left.

When Hufflepuff disappeared from view, Hattings immediately stopped what he was doing.

"What's wrong?" Carl looked at Hattings.

"Don't you think today is a good time?" Hattings looked at the closed restaurant, where the cheerful crowd continued.

Carl finally understood: "You mean, God, it's Christmas!" My mother told me that even thieves had to rest on this day. โ€

"No, that's your mom lying to you." Hattings didn't hesitate to expose Carl's mother's lies, "What's wrong with Christmas?" The church pastor has to go to work today! โ€

"It was to celebrate Jesus' birthday." Carl muttered, but didn't continue, knowing he couldn't talk about Hattings.

He quickly adjusted his state and focused his attention on the current matter: "So, do I really need to go?" Professor Carlo has already promised to teach me, huh? โ€

The main reason he stayed at the school was for the sake of the forbidden section of the Hogwarts Library.

But when it was really the holidays, he found that even though there was no Mrs. Pince in the library, there were professors who stayed on duty at the school.

Coupled with Professor Caro's promise, Karl put out the desire to explore the forbidden book area, and focused more on Dumbledore's deeds and chasing books.

"No one can be relied upon, Carl." Hattings continued to educate Carl, as he had done countless times before, and he instilled in him something that did not belong to human morality, but to the devil's moral norms: "You need to take the initiative to fight for it, to master, and only when you have the initiative will you not fail because of others." โ€

"So you have to go to the forbidden section. There's a new way to make sure you don't get eaten by Professor Caro. โ€

Heatings' words did not attract Carl's attention.

Professor Caro is not Snape, they still have a common interest, according to Heatings's previous teachings, in this case, Carr does not feel that Professor Caro will betray himself.

Noticing Karl's disapproval, Hattings continued, "At the very least, you'll have to find the incognito spell. The sooner you learn that mantra, the more flexible you will be in the future. โ€
