Chapter 73: Peeves' Invitation
Facing Lee Jordan's expectant gaze, Karl pondered for a long time and suddenly came to his senses.
The hardest thing about this kind of thing is not how to change people's perception of Lee Jordan, which in itself is Lee Jordan's unfounded worries.
He was sure that no one would really think that Lee Jordan was a coward because of this kind of thing.
The one who really thinks this is actually Lee Jordan himself, and he needs someone to help him overcome the psychological threshold.
Uh, except for Fred and George······
Okay, Carl was sure the two would laugh at Lee Jordan about it, but it was simply because they thought it was funny.
"Li ······"
He was about to speak, when two people crept into Gryffindor's common room.
The Weasley twins walked into the lounge laughing, two piping hot beef pies in their hands.
"Hey! Who's it? Fred handed the pie over, "We ate in the kitchen, and we brought you two." ”
Carl and Lee Jordan looked at each other and tacitly didn't say anything more.
"Where have you been? This point is coming back? Carl asked as he tore open the package on the pie.
Fred snapped his fingers, "Good question." ”
"We went to the secret base." George said, "Clean up there." ”
"It's going to be our lab from now on. We're going to continue trying there to see if we can make a big dung bomb. ”
After being forced by Carl to be educated by Mr. Weasley over the summer, the twins soon developed a keen interest in making magical objects.
"Then you may need to work a little more on potions." Carl said casually, "That isn't a simple magic item, it should have at least one potion recipe in it. ”
Fred and George sighed in unison, "We think so too, Carl, do you know which books to read?" ”
Just like doing homework, they have become accustomed to asking Carl for a bibliography.
Carl disappointed them this time, though.
Because of a certain professor, Carl wasn't that enthusiastic about Potions class, and he didn't even look through the Potions section of the library.
Carl thought for a moment and said, "You can start with books about herbs and the properties of magical beasts, and theoretically this kind of thing could really be made from the feces of some kind of magical beast. ”
Fred and George clapped each other: "Fred (George), over to you." ”
"Hey!" Then, in unison, they said, "Why me?" ”
"Fred (George)!" They nodded neatly at each other again, "We'll settle this matter the old way later." ”
After dealing with his brothers, Fred turned to them and asked, "What are you doing here?" ”
Lee Jordan looked at Karl pleadingly.
Carl thought for a moment and said, "Lee Jordan wants to try the Happiness Charm, and he wants to know if this magic can bring happiness." ”
"Oh? Have you tried it? Fred and George looked at Lee Jordan curiously.
"Nope." "This spell reminds you of something happy and laughs, but it doesn't bring real joy. ”
He finished eating the bread in his hand and stood up: "Go back to sleep." Lee, if you want to be happy, I would recommend that you live a relaxed life and not care about what other people think. Friends are friends precisely because they will think about you. ”
When everyone went to bed, Fred suddenly remembered something.
"Carl? Slept? ”
"What's wrong?"
"We ran into Peeves tonight, and he asked us, why didn't you go to him?"
Karl opened his eyes and thought for a moment, "What else did he say?" ”
"He said you didn't keep the promise, and he said he would give you a real treasure when your confinement was over. As a result, you haven't been looking for him since the beginning of school this year. Fred wondered, "When did you ever make this agreement?" ”
“······ I would like to know too. Carl remembered the time Peeves took away the dung bomb, and it seemed that Peeves had really said that.
But it was too long for him to forget about it - not to mention the fact that so much had happened and his confinement had lasted until the end of the school year.
"What do you say is the treasure?" George said, "The big dung bomb he put away, or some other toy?" ”
"I don't think anyone would dare to give him a big dung bomb." Lee Jordan said, "Peeves must have used a big dung bomb." ”
"Maybe they stayed after the previous students graduated." Fred guessed, "It can't be Garon." ”
"I'd rather be Garon." Carl grunted.
The four who hadn't slept yet sighed with concern.
Poverty is a difficult topic to avoid for students who have grown up.
They have too many things they want to buy, but the pocket money given by the family is always not enough.
"Anyway," said George, "Peeves asks that you must find him at twelve o'clock in the evening this month, or the treasure will be forfeited, and he will give you some good fruit to eat." ”
It's clear that Peeves intends to put Carl to the test.
Well, Carl wasn't going to play hide-and-seek with Peeves, though.
"Okay." Karl sighed helplessly. "Fred, give me the map of the living point, I'll use it tomorrow night."
On Sunday, Carl spent the day in the library, poring over Voldemort and Grindelwald materials to prepare for the future.
Late at night, Carl took Fred's map of the live spot.
"Can't we really go along?" Fred said depressedly, "I also want to see what Peeves' treasure is." ”
"I'll tell you about it." Karl sighed, pulled out his wand and pointed at himself, and his figure faded.
"Peeves is crazy for a man, and I'm afraid your presence will make him even crazier. And, it's too late. ”
At twelve o'clock in the evening, they were not so late even for astronomy class.
Carl cautiously walked into an abandoned classroom.
He glanced at the many tables and chairs stacked on top of the wall, and Peeves were carrying them like building blocks.
Other than that, there was only one thing that didn't look like it belonged here, it looked very tall, and it was obscured by a veil.
That must be the treasure in Peeves' mouth.
"Peeves, I'm coming." Carl untied the magic from his body and looked at the thing with curiosity.
"Hell! How did you find here? Peeves screamed, "I made Filch patrol this hallway!" ”
"A little bit of magic." Karl said modestly.
Of course, Hattings helped him a lot—without the movement he made, Filch wouldn't have been taken by his cat to a poor Slytherin student.
"Long story short, is this the treasure?" Karl walked over to something that was blocked by a veil.
Peeves' eyes drifted for a moment, then he said, "Of course not, this thing has always been here. Now let's play a hide-and-seek, and if you can still find me, then you will find this treasure. ”
"Okay." Carl snorted, "If you can, hurry up." ”
With a live map, he has long been invincible.
Peeves is clearly enraged by Carl's casualness.
"You wait, Carl, I don't know what magic you're using." Peeves said viciously, "But this time, just wait to find dawn!" ”
