Chapter 94: Percy's Secret
After Charlie left, Percy stayed.
He still did not give up his persuasion of Karl.
"You shouldn't have done that." "It's just going to get you in trouble," he said. You don't know what those Ravenclaws say about you. β
"What do you say about me?" Carl asked curiously.
Percy said angrily: "No good words! Did you know that this time it's not just Slytherin, but Ravenclaw someone trying to put you in the toilet? β
Charlie wasn't here, he was talking a little more.
Carl knew this, and in the eyes of many, he must have been too vicious.
Gryffindor and Slytherin battled for first place, with Ravenclaw in third being beaten in passing.
Such an unwarranted disaster, Ravenclaw is not a Hufflepuff, how can everyone be willing to swallow this breath.
"Do you really think they're innocent?"
Last year was complicated, and if he really wanted to get Slytherin in trouble, Gryffindor and Slytherin would definitely end up in a complete conflict.
Only Ravenclaw was able to maintain the tension but not collapse β the blow was too big for one to know for what purpose.
In the end, Filch and his own bad luck can only be blamed.
And Carl didn't think he had done anything wrong, and he asked Percy, "Do you remember where the first scoring came from?" β
Percy blinked, immediately remembering who had counted the points in the first place, grabbing his neck and stiffening his head, "Penelope is just for fun." β
"Maybe." Karl wasn't going to delve into it, he had met that Miss Penelope, a rather intelligent and unique lady.
Then he said, "Then do you know who did Charlie's broom?" β
"Who else but Slytherin?" Percy subconsciously replied, and then his face changed, he looked at Carl in horror, and said firmly, "Penelope can't do such a thing!" β
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure!" Percy had a determined look in her eyes, honest and confident, "She's not that kind of person!" I vouch for it with my personality! β
Carl smiled, the first time he'd seen Percy look like this.
It's funny, he thought, "Indeed, I think so too." β
The reason is actually very simple, that Penelope-senpai is really smart.
There is no way such a smart person would do anything to ruin the relationship she wishes to maintain.
Well, however, Carl didn't think Ravenclaw was suspicious.
"It's hard to say who did it last year." Professor McGonagall did not disclose the circumstances of the investigation, and Carl did not produce any evidence. "But judging by the results, both Slytherin and Ravenclaw are suspicious, and that's enough."
Carl's point of view is simple: he is too lazy to investigate any evidence, and since they are all suspicious, he will report them to the public.
Percy quickly figured out what Carl meant, and he looked at Karl again and hesitated, "But that's Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· That's Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·"
He felt a little confused in his mind, and Carl's actions affected many innocent people, but it was hard for him to say that this alone was wrong.
Because Carl is not only his friend, but also for his brother.
What's more, the most important point is -
"Percy, you have to understand one thing first." Carl gave a thumbs up, "These people are against school rules for night out. β
Percy nodded, and that was exactly what he struggled with.
"So it's simple, I'm just helping a poor school worker enforce the school rules." "If it weren't for me, a lot of the students wouldn't have been caught by Filch at allβthey were doing the school rules, and they were complacent and happy." β
Carl smiled and concluded: "I did not punish these students privately, but brought them to Filch and made them face a fair trial, pay for their actions, and finally reflect on their mistakes." β
"You're really, really as cunning as Slytherin." Percy thought about it carefully and sighed.
Karl's face immediately darkened, "You're mistaken, Percy. Slytherins don't just take advantage of the rules, they do whatever it takes to disadvantage, and I'm not that person. β
Percy wisely didn't contradict Carl this time.
Although he thinks there is a colloquial phrase that is very suitable for Karl.
The pot calling the kettle black - the pot is black, fifty steps and a hundred steps of laughter.
"So it's also a righteous revenge to give them a taste of their own means." Karl said fiercely, "Snape does this a lot, and it disgusts us. β
When it comes to Snape, no Gryffindor is in a good mood.
Carl had long been dissatisfied with the professor's behavior of always making trouble with his friends, and if he hadn't been able to beat him, he would have wanted to teach the professor a good lesson.
After Percy reluctantly agrees with him, Carl finally has time to explain why he wants to keep Percy.
He took a closer look, and after making sure that no one was paying attention to him, he said slowly, "I actually had a question a long time ago. β
Percy looked at him quizzically.
"At first, I thought the school had a special arrangement." He said, "You're not the first, after all. β
Percy's eyes widened suddenly, and he looked nervously around and then at Carl, but he was still lucky.
"Later, through some means, there were some gossip."
It begins with his spying on Professors Caro and Quirrell for unexpected discoveries, followed by new rumors about Percy brought in by Fred and George.
Carl's voice suddenly became low, but clear.
"It occurred to me that yes, this is a wizarding world, and I was in a magic school," he said. β
"Why do you need any special arrangements for such a thing! Isn't magic a 'miracle' that exists to solve such a thing? β
Percy stood up suddenly, his face pale.
"Carl, I still have something to Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·"
"Sit down, sit down, Percy." At this moment, Carl was more like the older one, and he said calmly, "You don't want to attract everyone's attention, do you?" β
Percy looked at the laughing crowd not far away, and they also noticed Percy standing up, waving at him.
He sat down again.
"I can't tell you!" Percy tried to keep her voice down, but she still looked hysterical. "It's a Hogwarts rule! No, it's the law of the Ministry of Magic! And you can't say it, or I'm in big trouble! β
Ministry of Magic?
Carl was stunned for a moment, he really didn't expect to involve the Ministry of Magic.
But thinking about the magic of having a person appear in different places, Carl thought it was understandable.
For those who want to sin, this is more convenient than the Transfiguration Charm.
And such a spell, Percy can use it in the third year, which is enough to show how low the threshold of this magic is.
It seems perfectly normal for such spells to be controlled by the Ministry of Magic.
He didn't force Percy to think, and sighed: "Well, it seems that I'll have to think of another way, what a good spell, it's a pity." β
"Spells?" Percy was slightly stunned.
"I don't know if there are any spells in the forbidden book area." Karl sighed, "Is this a spell that only people like you can learn?" β
Percy let out a long sigh of relief, and he was completely relaxed.
"If you take twelve courses, then you will know the secret." Percy's voice lowered.
"But you can't tell anyone this secret, and those who know it must also keep it secret, and if you know too many people, you will be in big trouble."
"Fred and George don't know, do they?" His voice suddenly tensed.
"I don't know." Carl shook his head, "I haven't told them yet." β
"Don't tell them! Carl, don't! β
"It's not just about legal trouble, it's more likely to endanger my life." There was a tremor in Percy's voice, "You must not try to use it outside of the course. I've only used it once, and that time I've been scared for a long time. β
Looking at Percy nervously, Carl realizes that this secret may be more than he thinks.
He nodded solemnly: "I will let this secret rot in my heart." β
"Carl's secret is truly amazing, even more amazing than you think." Percy suddenly said, "If you're interested, you can take twelve courses next year, I know you don't want to take so many, but if you do, you'll understand how valuable your choice is." β
Twelve courses.
Carl thought of Percy's exhaustion from last year, and fell into a tangle.
He's not a studious kid.
