Chapter 8: A Night in the Burrow

At the tail of August, Mr. Weasley reappears in front of Carl as previously agreed.

Fred and George didn't follow, and according to Mr. Weasley, they were busy working on some magic items.

Mr. Weasley was apparently pleased that the two brothers were able to carry on his interests, and said a lot about the twins along the way.

By the time we arrived at the Burrow, it was nearly dusk.

"Carl!"

As soon as he entered the Burrow's room, Fred was already running in a hurry, and he grabbed Carl's hand and ran inside.

"Look, look." Fred said, "The prefect of our family. Percy, I've spoken for you, and I hope I don't hear you mention it tonight. ”

"Yikes! Fred, you might as well kill him! Carl heard George.

Percy glared at the two of them, then stood up and greeted Carl, "Long time no see, Carl, I heard Fred and they said, you applied for twelve courses?" ”

Carl nodded, forced a smile, and said, "Congratulations, Percy." ”

"If you two can become prefects!" Mrs. Weasley came over with the last dishes, "I'm not going to spank you again!" ”

"You said last time that we did well in the exams, and you won't beat us this summer." Fred said.

George added: "Then on the seventh day of the summer vacation, your broom hit me in the ass. ”

Mrs. Weasley was not in the slightest bit overwhelmed by the two troublemakers, and her eyes widened, "yes, yes, if you don't plan to burn down our house, I think I'll keep my word." ”

Ginny suddenly smiled and said, "Mom, Fred and George ······ last time"

"I promised to buy you a bottle of licorice wand last time, but I forgot about it." Fred walked over to Ginny and sat down, "Don't worry, we'll send it to you when we get to Hogwarts!" ”

Ginny wondered, "Isn't there still a bee candy?" ”

Fred glanced at Ginny, then at George, and said slowly, "Ah, is it? ”

"I don't think you should have eaten that much." George sat down next to Fred and said, "The teeth are going to be black." ”

"Mom!" Ginny yelled, "Fred and George······"

"Yes, and Zizi Bee Candy!" Fred said hurriedly.

Mrs. Weasley didn't take it, she realized what Fred and George were hiding from her, but now was not the time to find out.

"Eat now." Mrs. Weasley motioned for Carl to come and sit down, "Fred and George, we'll have a good talk later." ”

Dinner was as lively as ever, and after eating, Mrs. Weasley took Fred and George away.

In the living room, Ron sat next to Carl and asked, "Carl, I've been practicing for a long time, why can't I get the spots to change color?" ”

Carl had almost forgotten about it, and he thought about it for a long time before he remembered that when he first went to school, he had created a spell of his own.

"Hmm." He recalls the scene and asks, "Did you use it on other mice?" ”

Ron nodded.

"Did it work?"

Ron shook his head.

Carl understood, he hesitated for a moment and said, "This is probably because this spell is not very suitable for you, after all, it is a spell of my own creation. ”

"That's right." Ron was a little disappointed.

Karl wasn't entirely lying, wizards do have some people who are particularly good at certain spells, or who are good at certain spells. But that doesn't mean a wizard can't learn a spell, and it doesn't mean that he has any talent.

Theoretically, given enough time and practice, a wizard can learn any magic that falls within his ability.

The premise is within the scope of ability.

According to Carl's guess, it is very likely that Ron did not meet the requirements for the ability to use transformation, it may be that he is unable to mobilize his magic, or it may be that his magic power is not enough.

Either way, it shows that Ron's talent is not particularly high.

Carl didn't want to say that to a new freshman about the prospects.

It's so devastating.

"Carl." Ron looked at Mr. Weasley, who was listening to the radio not far away, and whispered, "Is the Hogwarts freshman selection really scary?" Fred said that I might be eliminated, and said that you fought with Cedric against a knight in armor, and then you entered school. ”

Karl nodded solemnly: "Yes, it's scary. ”

"Terrible?" Ron turned pale and nodded.

"Some of them aren't terrible." Carl added, "It's just going to hurt you a lot. For example······ He looked at Ron's face and once again thought the tradition was too funny.

"For example, what?!"

"For example, you're going to bump into a hat."

"Hats?"

"Yes, a worn, old hat."

"Just a hat?" Ron's face soothed a lot.

"Yes, you'll be asked to wear hats." "It will judge what you think in your mind and eat the brains of unqualified children." ”

"Huh?" Ron said with his mouth wide open and trembling, "Eat the brain? ”

Carl Zheng nodded: "Yes." But you don't have to worry, it may be replaced by some other test, our last level of the year was just a hat, and the one in front of me was eaten out of my brain. ”

In fact, he was George Weasley in front of him.

Ron swallowed, "That'······ So what qualifies? He was a little frustrated: "I don't think I'm going to qualify." ”

Carl smiled encouragingly.

"As long as you have the courage to face danger." Carr said.

At night, Carl and Percy slept together again.

Percy sat at his desk as usual, and Karl sat on the bed flipping through a silver-white book—the one Quirrell had given him.

"Carl." Percy raised his head and said solemnly, "If you really want to complete twelve subjects, then you should start studying in the summer, instead of reading extracurricular books." ”

"It's okay, I've learned about Transfiguration, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts." Karl stared at the page above, which he had been reading for more than half an hour, and said casually as he thought.

"Then there are still nine gates!"

"I don't think I need to study divination and Muggle studies." Carl closed the book, "The history of magic is all about back-to-back, potions, herbs, astronomy, and magical beasts that I can't practice. ”

He looked at Percy, spread his hands and smiled, "You see there are only two doors left." ”

The rest of the ancient magic and mathematical divination, Percy is naturally clear.

These two subjects are quite difficult, and it is easy to go astray without a teacher to guide self-study.

"You're quibbling." Percy airway.

Of course, it is a quibble, these courses have a lot of content to memorize, and it will be much less stressful to memorize when you can learn early in school.

However, Karl would not admit it, and instead changed the subject: "Judging by Fred and George's words, you often show off your prefect badge this summer?" ”

Percy blushed: "That's their slander!" How often! He paused, squirmed and admitted, "Of course, I did say it a few times. I wish they would respect me a little more. ”

"Why?" Carl wondered, "Just because you became a prefect?" ”

"Of course." Percy nodded.

"But this is home." "Even at school, Charlie couldn't have made everybody respect him." ”

"But everybody does respect Charlie."

"That's not because he's a prefect, it's because he's ·····" Carl thought about it, thinking about how Charlie had taken care of him before.

Carl gave an example: "Just like the matter between me and Alexis, if you were a prefect, you would definitely not agree with me to solve it myself, and you would definitely tell the professor about it." ”

"That's because ······" Percy couldn't help but retort, "I didn't say anything besides!" ”

"So I'm thankful to you, Percy, that I treat you as a friend and am willing to say something to you that you may not like to hear."

"If you think about it, should that really be left to the professor? Percy, I've been called mudbloody, my friends from Cedric to Fred and George have been ridiculed, and your family has even been called scum. ”

"Percy, think about it, if you force this thing down, how can you convince the person who has been hurt? How can we respect you? Just because you're a prefect? What's so great about a prefect? Would Voldemort throw his hands up and surrender on his knees just because he was opposite the Minister of Magic? Would Dumbledore grovel and serve flatteringly just because he was opposite the Minister of Magic? ”

Percy was silent for a long time, his face as red as an apple.

Percy opened her mouth several times, but finally closed it.

"Percy, you have the same heart for others, but somehow ····· Circuitous. Carl put the book away and lay down on the bed.

"Charlie is different, he has the same ability as you, he is willing to help every friend, and at the same time he knows exactly what others really need, and is willing to respect other people's choices, rather than forcing his own ideas on others as you sometimes do."

It was destined to be a sleepless night, and Carl smiled as he listened to Percy's tossing and turning.
