Chapter 10: On the Train
"You didn't write all your homework?!" Carl patted the blank parchment and said speechlessly, "Percy and Mrs. Weasley didn't bother you?" β
Fred explains: "We had too much of a summer this summer. β
"Very fulfilling." George added, "A lot of the little things we forget. β
Summer homework isn't a trivial matter, but for Fred and George, it can be.
Especially when compared to their big plans.
Carl looked at Lee Jordan again, and before he could speak, Lee Jordan preemptively said: "Carl, I've finished writing most of it, and I have a little bit of Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· left."
Indeed, if you don't take into account his goofy content, Lee Jordan did most of his homework, leaving only a small part of the hardest unwritten.
Karl can guarantee that Snape will be ecstatic if he sees Lee Jordan's homework, and will happily deduct 10 points from Gryffindor.
"Now, let's go to Cedric. You take my homework with him and Lee, and you can't make any of them exactly the same! β
For the first time, Carl thought it was good to have a model student.
They searched down the corridor towards the front of the car, and when they saw a car with a person, they poked in to look inside.
"Hah! Angelina! β
In a certain carriage, seeing Angelina sitting inside, Lee Jordan immediately rushed in to greet them.
Angelina and Alya were chatting with the girls from the other colleges, and she looked at a few people curiously, "What do you want to cause trouble?" β
"Uh." Lee Jordan smiled and said, "We're looking for Cedric." β
"Oh."
"Have you finished your summer homework?"
"I'm done."
"It's better to borrow Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·" Before Lee Jordan could finish speaking, George, who reacted, dragged him out.
Fred waved his hand, laughed with him, and exited the carriage backwards: "We still have business, you continue, continue." β
The other girls in the room covered their mouths and laughed at their nonsense.
"Fred! Are you Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·" Before Angelina could finish speaking, Fred had already closed the door.
"Why don't you let me finish?" Lee Jordan complained.
"Because you're so stupid!"
Fred closed the door and immediately shoved Lee Jordan forward.
"How can Angelina know about this kind of thing, she will definitely laugh at us for a semester!"
Karl nodded approvingly beside him.
After passing a few more carriages, Carl was surprised to find that Ron was already sitting in the same carriage as Harry Potter.
When they entered, they both looked out the window in silence.
Seeing Carl and the others, Harry Potter and Ron both breathed a sigh of relief.
Fred and George greeted Ron before saying to Harry, "You haven't introduced yourself yet, have you?" Fred and George Weasley, this is Ron, our little brother. β
"Hello."
Carl also took the initiative to introduce: "My name is Carl, Carl Turinus, and this is Lee Jordan. β
"Thank you so much before." Harry was still a little nervous.
Karl smiled.
Lee Jordan was thrilled to meet Harry Potter.
He looked curiously at the little boy in front of him, and every now and then his gaze swept over Harry's forehead.
However, Karl, who had already noticed his movements, stopped him.
"I'll see you later." Carl waved his hand, "We've got to find a friend." β
"Goodbye." Harry and Ron said in unison.
The four of them swaggered towards the front of the train, and Ron, who was left behind, finally couldn't help but ask, "Are you really Harry Potter?" β
Harry nodded.
Not to mention the fact that they gradually became friends later, Carl took Lee Jordan and the others to finally find Cedric in the middle car.
He was playing Crackle Exploding with his Hufflepuff friends, and when he saw Carl and the others, he immediately stood up happily and threw his cards into the pile.
"Catch it right!" The friend next to him laughed, accompanied by a crackling explosion.
"Why are you here?"
"I'm looking for you." Karl was the first to say, he didn't dare to let Fred and the others speak. "Give me your summer homework."
Cedric might have hesitated if Fred or George had spoken, he wasn't one of those who liked to have someone copy their homework.
But Carl's words, he did not hesitate to find his homework from the salute.
"Thanks, I want to read right, especially the history of magic, I don't have any reference books." Carl said as he pulled out his wand.
Cedric didn't care at all: "Little thing, by the way, Carl, I heard that you took twelve courses?" β
Carl returned the original assignment to Cedric: "Yes, what about you?" β
"I only chose the magical beasts and ancient magic texts that I was interested in, and my family advised me not to take too many courses." Cedric said, "Carl, twelve classes are quite hard, and most of them are unnecessary. β
"Of course, a lot of good students see the twelve classes as a challenge." As if fearing an offense to Carl, Cedric added, "just very tired." β
"Maybe." Carl still remembers Percy's tired appearance, "But I'm learning pretty fast, I should be fine, I'll see you later." β
Carl and the others hurried back to the carriage and immediately began to get busy.
Carl divided the copied homework into several parts, and gave the potions and shapeshifts to Lee Jordan, asking him to quickly correct his homework.
He didn't want Lee Jordan to be targeted by Snape and McGonagall because of those two foolish assignments.
Herbology and astronomy were the easiest, and Lee Jordan's barely worked, and Carl gave Fred and George all three qualified assignments to make the two of them good tailors.
He himself was busy with the history of magic, and he didn't need to copy Cedric's homework - Cedric's perspective could be of great help to Carl as a leader in pure-blood wizard students.
At least Carl knew what to make of this history, otherwise how to write it? Writing about the power struggle between Catholics and lords behind the heresy trial?
About half-past twelve, the salesman came, and Carl bought a few snacks and shared them with a few people.
While eating, writing, and occasionally chatting a few words, there are fewer and fewer farmlands speeding by outside the window, and before you know it, the people who are immersed in the homework do not care at all.
"Did you see Neville's toad?"
A little girl opens the door and suddenly screams, "Oh my God! What are you doing?! β
Fred and George subconsciously put the homework on the table into their arms, and Lee Jordan was so frightened by the scream that his hands shook, and a large cloud of ink dripped onto his Potions class homework, making him jump up in a hurry.
"My Assignment !!"
His grief made Karl even more impatient when he was interrupted: "Shut up, Lee, bring your homework!" β
Grabbing the parchment from Lee Jordan's hand, Carl pulled out his wand: "The ink is gone!" The ink disappeared immediately, along with the words that Lee Jordan had painstakingly written.
"The word below!" Lee Jordan looked at Carl expectantly.
Carl rolled his eyes: "It's better than you recopying it and finding a way to make it up yourself!" β
He looked at the two men standing in the doorway, "Miss Hermione, we only have one spider here, but no toads. He pointed out the door: "Now, we have something to do, please leave." β
The round-faced boy behind her pulled up Hermione's sleeve in fear.
"How can you Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· Carl, I didn't expect that! Hermione yelled, "You can copy your homework too!" Shameful!!! I'm going to report it to the teachers!!!! β
"No, we're just borrowing from other people's ideas and improving them." Fred had re-laid out the homework and explained in earnest.
He asked Karl, "You know each other?" Freshman? β
"When they were buying books, they chatted with me all the way, along the way, and she was like me, and her family was Muggles." Carl checked out a few herb assignments, "Like Fred said, we're not copying, we're actually done, we're just comparing them and seeing if we can improve them." β
"Believe it or not."
Carl didn't want to gamble on what if Hermione did tell Professor McGonagall about it, and the two of them would be miserable, and it would be light to be confined to them.
Hermione glanced at it and saw that the content of several assignments was completely different.
Fortunately, she couldn't understand it at all, otherwise she would have found out how Lee Jordan was fooled.
"Okay." Hermione said, "By the way, you're using magic?" Is it the magic of the senior year? Which book has it? Can I learn? This magic is so handy to use to correct mistakes in your homework. By the way, I just saw a guy over there, he was chanting some daisy, sweet cream, but nothing happened, is that really magic? β
She said a lot in one breath like a cannon.
Fred and George couldn't help but laugh when they heard that Ron wanted to brush up on his magic at the end.
They tried that magic too, but it never worked. They all privately speculated that the essence of this transformation was based on Karl's powerful magic power.
As for the spell, it was probably played by Ron, and they hadn't seen anything like it in the textbooks.
Carl listened to the head and two big, and that's what Hermione had said in Diagon Alley, and it still hadn't changed at all.
He had no choice but to answer one by one: "These are all magic, you will learn the Transfiguration Technique when you reach the fifth grade, you can't learn it now, it's hard to say in the future, it's very difficult." Ron just wasn't good enough. Don't believe it, you see. β
The vanishing spell is hard enough, and Carl still makes the parts of things disappear, which is not something that the average fifth grader can't do.
This is also the highest level of Karl Transfiguration.
He pulled out his wand and said to Fred, who was still laughing, "Daisies, sweet cream, and sunshine, turn this silly kid yellow." β
"Fred!" George looked at Fred's hair and touched it curiously.
Fred also looked at the car window in surprise: "Hey, Carl, can you change it to another color, I wanted to dye my hair for a long time." β
"It's that simple." Ignoring the joking Fred and the others, Carl said to Hermione, "Ron just wasn't quite comfortable with this spell, so he hasn't learned it yet." β
"So." Hermione looked curiously at the magically discolored hair, assessing it and asking, "Is there any magic that could help us find Neville's toad?" β
"Nope." Carl thought for a moment, "If there is only one toad in the car, then there is a way, but there must be more than one toad in this car." β
If there is only one toad, he can use the Flying Charm, but on the trainΒ·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· He didn't want to make a toad rain in his car.
Hermione sighed, "Okay, let's look elsewhere." β
She took Neville with her.
"I don't like her. She's a little," Lee Jordan was an honest man, and finally just said euphemistically, "Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β· It's uncomfortable. β
Fred and George just smiled and didn't speak.
"At least a warm-hearted person." Karl sighed.
"Is it to help or to show yourself?" Lee Jordan said, "If she's a pureblood, she's a Slytherin." β
"She's Muggle-born."
Fred suddenly said, "Why don't we make a bet?" β
"Bet on what?" Lee Jordan asked curiously.
"Bet on which house she and Harry Potter will go to?" Fred pulled out two Galleons, "Guess one right, win one, how about it?" β
"Okay." Lee Jordan nodded hurriedly. "I guess she's going to Ravenclaw."
"Hey! That's not interesting. Fred muttered, "I'd like to guess she went to Ravenclaw, too." β
"She's so weird, she's going to go to Ravenclaw." George also said, "It seems that this bet is not valid, and I still want to make a profit." β
Carl looked at them with a smirk: "Or I'll bet on something else." β
He pulled out three gold Galleons: "I think she'll go to Gryffindor." β
"Gryffindor?" Fred and George thought for a moment and shook their heads in unison, "Deal!" β
"Harry Potter, then." Lee Jordan pulled out two Galleons, "Gryffindor!" β
"Gryffindor!" Fred said.
George hesitated for a moment, then nodded, "Gryffindor." β
They all looked at Carl expectantly, wondering if he would choose a particular house.
Carl was curious, "Why do you all think Harry Potter will go to Gryffindor?" β
Fred said, "He defeated the mystery man!" β
"He's the savior." George said.
"Would such a person lack courage?" Lee Jordan didn't believe it. "And as we saw just now, Harry Potter doesn't look like a weirdo."
If you weren't a weirdo, you wouldn't go to Ravenclaw, and if you defeated the Mystery, you wouldn't go to Slytherin, which is full of bad seeds.
Although he seems to be quite introverted, much like a Hufflepuff student, based on his merits, everyone thinks that he will not go to the mediocre Hufflepuff.
Then only Gryffindor.
Carl nodded: "That's not interesting, I think it's Gryffindor too." β
He hadn't thought of it that way before, but Carl knew that Harry Potter was going to Gryffindor.
On the one hand, his parents are Gryffindors, so he is most likely Gryffindor, on the other hand, he knows that Harry Potter and Hermione, Ron is friends, Hermione is bent on getting into the best house: "Gryffindor", the Weasleys are all Gryffindors, then Harry Potter must also be Gryffindor.
However, since everyone agrees, this bet cannot be established.
"So you bet on that Hermione?" Lee Jordan retrieved a gold coin and asked curiously, "Why do you think she's going to Gryffindor?" β
"Uh." Carl thought for a moment and asked, "Don't you think she resembles Percy?" A little Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·Β·" Karl pondered for a moment and said, "Self-righteous. β
Fred and George thought for a moment, and nodded approvingly.
Lee Jordan found Hermione uncomfortable because of this.
"Percy can get into Gryffindor." Fred pouted. "He deserves to be in Ravenclaw."
George said, "Looks like that Hermione classmate really has a chance. β
"Hopefully she won't be like Percy." Fred said heartily, "I went to school for a few years, and I didn't have many friends in the end. β
Percy's popularity in Gryffindor is indeed quite poor, his mouth is a big problem, always with a sense of guidance and command.
Many times it is clear that he has good intentions, but when he opens his mouth, good intentions become bad things.
This is also what Carl warned him before, hoping that he will improve.
"Hopefully."
Carl was also curious about how she had come to be friends with Ron and Harry.
It can't be a hero saving beauty, right?
