Chapter 17: The Superhero Show and the Makeover
"Stark, Mr. Stark!"
"Iron Man, Iron Man look here!"
Tony Stark, a billionaire, a playboy, a scientific genius whose lace stories have fed many tabloids in New York State is now a walking spotlight with the addition of 'Iron Man'.
He actually took the initiative to contact major TV stations to buy news headlines and live broadcasts, which made reporters not crazy?
And this is the first time Stark has appeared in front of the media since the '618 Expo terrorist attack', and the entire American newspapers and TV stations have flocked to it.
Facing the flash and countless microphones, Iron Man raised the energy cannon in his palm and aimed it at the noisy crowd.
In an instant, there was a deathly silence, only the flashing lights continued.
'Poof! A ribbon erupted from Stark's palm.
A prank, is Stark's usual style.
Although it was a pity that the explosive topic of 'Superhero Stark broke the defense and tried to threaten reporters' as the headlines, the reporters did not shoot it more energetically.
Bang Bang!
Stark tapped the table on the podium with his hand armor, "Media friends, be silent! β
The reporters were stunned.
What does he call us? Friend? Is this person Stark? He won't be manipulated by any supervillain, right? The reporters around are even noisier.
"Fack! Be quiet, or I won't say a word! β
That's right, this is Stark!
Stark looked around, and after everything around him had quieted down, he adjusted the microphone and cleared his throat.
"I know what you're trying to ask. Which cover girl do I lace with? The farce of the fair? Or is it Stark's new energy branch? But none of that matters!
I'm here today, and I have something really big to announce! β
The reporters waited with bated breath for Stark's next step, but then he stopped and looked up at the building overhead.
A silver figure fell from the sky, and the light one turned over and landed beside Stark, clasping his hands around him, standing beside Stark coolly.
"Wuhu!"
The figure in the red and blue suit, familiar to all New Yorkers, swayed from tall buildings to the sky, and finally landed on Stark's other side with one hand.
"Spider-Man!"
The sound of the camera shutter on the scene was at least twice as loud as when Li Hao appeared, and it is obvious that as a good neighbor of New Yorkers, Spider-Man is still very popular.
Peter, who put on the battle suit, was like a different person, changing the shy silence he usually gets along with in private, posing coquettishly, and taking photos with several reporters who are his fans.
Stark took advantage of the little spider to attract the reporter's attention, turned sideways and asked:
"Jarvis said that the national ratings have exceeded 35%, and they are almost in time for the Super Bowl! To get started? β
Li Hao nodded, so Stark picked up the microphone again.
"Today, my good friends Spider-Man and Emperor Knight and I are gathered here to announce a groundbreaking event!"
Stark easily drew the attention of the reporters and the TV station back to himself, and then talked to himself.
"League of Legends, an alliance dedicated to the screening, development, training and other work of superheroes was established!
In other words, all walks of life have their own unions, and League of Legends is the union of superheroes!
We will be committed to serving everyone who wants to be a superhero and relieve their worries; We're running a nationwide screening of all heroes who want to join League of Legends! β
Stark paused, waiting for the reporter and the audience to digest the information before continuing:
"It's a job like never before, and it's a superhero show like no other! We've partnered with a number of TV stations to screen out interested superpowers for live broadcasts across the U.S.
The three of us will serve as judges to judge these heroes. Any hero who joins League of Legends will receive an after-tax hero subsidy of at least $80,000.
From the selected heroes, we will select four teammates and the three of us to form the best and strongest BIG7 superhero group in the world to maintain peace and fight crime.
I believe that this can make America greater and make the world more peaceful! β
Bang!
Ma provoked Farman to throw the remote control in his hand and smashed the TV to pieces.
Burglarized!
Obviously I came first.
Is this some kind of superhero draft?
This is recruiting troops, to become bigger and stronger!
Nick Fury can already think of the wolf ambitions hidden under this all-American carnival hero draft:
What is the motivation for a team made up entirely of powerful superpowers? Want to destroy what? Want to subvert what?
You say you just want to do something chivalrous and give the heroes some livelihood security? Who believes?
These superpowers are coupled with the support of Stark Group, the largest group in the United States. Tony, listen to me, you really can't grasp the position of Emperor of the United States!
But it's not all bad, at least it will be able to get more support for your Avenger project.
Nick Fury forced himself to stay out of the way, staring at the broken TV screen with one eye, not knowing what he was thinking.
"Turn off the TV, Mike, we've got to go!"
On a dock in New York Harbor, Ivan and his cronies were waiting for the ship to arrive.
"FΓΌhrer, where the hell are we going?"
"Houston, Texas, where there's a well-established high-tech industry." Ivan changed his body shape, disguised as a classic white man with blonde hair and red neck, and said quietly:
"It's time for the Lone Star Republic to be great again!"
After the press conference, Stark ignored the media interview, and after having a light meal with Li Hao, he returned to his quiet laboratory, leaving the outside world to discuss in vain.
He has a big thing to do that is no less than League of Legends.
"Jarvis, get ready for surgery!" Stark took off his upper clothes, revealing his fair skin, and lay down on the bench, injecting himself with anesthetics.
"Sir, this is crazy! I."
"Don't worry, I've also read Dr. Otto's research notes, no problem, let's start the experiment."
As soon as Stark finished speaking, he fell asleep groggily under the effect of anesthetic.
Under Stark's orders, Jarvis manipulated the robotic arm to accurately stab a tiny probe into Tony's neck, injecting pieces of nanometal structures into Stark's body.
These structures will be reassembled at Stark's seventh cervical vertebra to become a microcomputer.
Then, it took out a golden, knotted metal structure more than a foot long, and attached the centipede-like replica spine to Stark's back.
The artificial spine instantly pierced a large number of tiny probes, piercing Stark's muscles, connecting with his first and second thoracic vertebrae, and at the same time linking to the microcomputer on the cervical vertebrae.
On the outside of the body, the artificial spine has a large number of interfaces, which can become the medium of interaction between the Warframe and Stark, and can also be connected to mechanical products with different functions, such as robotic arms and mechanical tentacles.
Awake from the chaos, the strength of the anesthetic has not passed, Stark can't speak or move, but he silently calls in his heart:
"Jarvis?"
"Sir, I'm here!"
