Can we know the Four Noble Truths?

The young Taoist stretched out his hand and asked, "So, what is the truth of suffering?" ”

The pharmacist Liuliguang Rulai seemed to be rare to meet someone who would discuss the Tao with him, so he said gently:

"There are three sufferings and eight sufferings in life, I don't know what the Taoist asks is?"

Qi Wu said confusedly: "What are the three bitterness?" ”

Medicine Master Liuli Guangrulai couldn't help but smile: "It seems that the Taoist chief is going to teach poor monks." ”

"The three sufferings are the great sufferings, which are divided into suffering, bad suffering, and doing suffering."

The young Taoist gently asked, "What is suffering?" ”

The old monk laughed: "There are many monks, there are many classics to describe this state, but the old monk seems to be just [suffering when he is suffering], if he is injured by someone, if he accidentally falls, and his body is cut by a sharp blade, isn't it painful at this time?" ”

Qi Wufu nodded: "It's painful." ”

The old monk said: "Bad and bitter, there are countless annotations on countless classics, all of which are boring and cumbersome nonsense. ”

"Bad suffering means to enjoy the pain at the end of happiness."

"Youth is fleeting, the glory is no more, the happy years are always short-lived, and it is precisely because I have enjoyed happiness that I feel that the loneliness after that is unbearable, isn't it painful at this time?"

Qi Wu said confusedly: "It's painful." ”

Medicine Master Liuli Guangru said: "Then the time of pain is painful, and the end of happiness will also be painful because of happiness." ”

"To practice suffering is to be suffering in the remainder of the time, when there is no bitterness or happiness, to be governed by the law of natural change."

"It's also the Eight Sufferings."

"It is said that life is bitter, old age is bitter, sickness is suffering, death is suffering, it is not begging for suffering, resentment will be bitter, love is parting from suffering, and the five yin are full of suffering."

He told the young Taoist in front of him one by one the meaning of these eight sufferings.

The young Taoist either pondered or nodded, all in an approving manner, and said, "That's right. ”

And in the end, it was explained that the five yin are full of suffering, and what is the five yin sheng? Words:

"That is, the [Prajna Heart Sutra] of the [Nanhai Guanyin Bodhisattva] says, the five aggregates are suffering, such as lust, receiving, thinking, acting, knowing, and suffering."

"What does the Taoist think, what is this truth of suffering?"

The young Taoist nodded and agreed: "The story is very complete, and from this point of view, there will indeed be a lot of suffering. ”

"The person who speaks the meaning of this truth of suffering must have seen a lot of things, right?"

Fu asked curiously, "Then what is the [Gathering Truth]?" ”

The Medicine Master Liuliguang Nyorai then replied: "The [Gathering Truth] is the gathering of all desires, the causes of many sufferings, so it is called the [Gathering Truth], and the countless sufferings in this world are the [Confusion Eighty-Eight Causes Troubles] and [Confusion Eighty-one Troubles]......"

When he said this, he suddenly saw the young Taoist on the opposite side and smiled slightly.

So he stopped and asked, "What is wrong with what the old monk said, so that the Taoist chief laughs?" ”

The young Taoist stopped laughing for a moment, and arched his hand: "Poor Dao, Qi is not confused." ”

Pharmacist Liuli Guangrulai understood, and couldn't help but smile and said: "Qi is not confused, there are eighty-one troubles when I see confusion." ”

"The old monk should probably want to see you."

"I once saw the Buddha's brief birth under the Bodhi tree, and before and after that, he healed people as a medicine man."

He said gently: "The Taoist can call me a pharmacist." ”

The young man said, "Then the pharmacist, please continue to talk." ”

So the medicine master Liuli Guang Rulai continued to tell the meaning of the truths.

The young Taoist listened carefully.

And in the end, the pharmacist Liuli Guang Rulai came to an end, saying: "And the causes of these many sufferings actually mainly come from [greed, hatred], [slowness], [doubt], among these five, greed, hatred and ignorance are the biggest reason, and they are the source of those countless sufferings. ”

"What do you think?"

The young Taoist thought for a while and said, "It makes a lot of sense. ”

He suddenly thought of his brothers and sisters, and then realized that many things seemed to have been figured out, so he naturally replied: "If you are not greedy, you can save a lot of troubles, if you don't get angry, you won't be angry and lose your mind, and you will save a lot of troubles, and if you don't have obsession, you don't have to be attached to the devil, you can let go of a lot, and even more so you can save a lot of troubles." ”

"The one who said the [Truth] is really very knowledgeable."

So a smile appeared on the face of the pharmacist Liuli Guangrulai, and he said gently: "Real person, good understanding." ”

He said, "The truth of suffering, the truth of gathering, is just ordinary. ”

"Even if it's the end of the truth."

He folded his hands together and said, "All sufferings are gone, and all life is gone." ”

"The messenger is the name of the Medicine Master Liuliguang Buddha. All sins are eliminated naturally. ”

"If you hear the name of the world-honored pharmacist Liuliguang, you will not have doubts when you accept it in your heart, and those who fall into evil tastes are useless."

He recited his own Dharma, and the surrounding light was brilliant, as if it was crystal clear.

The young Taoist raised his eyes slightly, then shook his head, pondered for a long time, and retorted again: "This is not right. ”

So the medicine master Liuliguang came to the Buddha's light for a moment.

Seeing that the young Taoist was not refuting himself, Qi Wufu thought for a moment and said:

"The meaning of this so-called true stopping."

"It should have been added by someone else."

"Isn't it the person who came up with the [Truth of Suffering] and the [Truth of Concentration] before who explained it?"

"Where does that start?"

The young Taoist smiled: "It's very simple, it's better to say that you can see it at a glance." ”

"Because whether it is the [Truth of Suffering] or the [Truth of Concentration], they are both telling very basic and clear truths."

"The person who came up with the Four Noble Truths explained these two points in great detail."

"And most importantly, there's no didactic meaning in it."

"He just spoke very calmly about what exists in this world."

The young Taoist thought of today's bowl of noodles, and still felt in his heart that he was always sorry if he didn't try to see the roasted chili, so he said: "It's like when you eat noodles, if you eat chili peppers, your mouth will be spicy, so you have to eat less." ”

"It's such a simple and simple truth."

"It seems that he is worried that others will misunderstand, he even said in detail one by one, just like telling Ling that when eating noodles, adding vinegar will be very sour, too much salt will make you thirsty, and you can eat less chili peppers, but don't add sugar to the noodles, in that case it will not be delicious, it will be a little verbose, but I can feel his gentleness for the common people."

"But what you just said—"

"This true extinction is to extinguish all sufferings in order to survive the common life."

The young Taoist raised his eyes and looked at the pharmacist Liuli Guangrulai in front of him, and said:

"But with a sense of superiority."

"It's different from the first two."

"Therefore, it is definitely not the Fa that he taught."

The pharmacist Liuli Guangrulai was silent for a long time and said, "However, there is no mistake. ”

Qi Wufu shook his head and said, "Wrong." ”

Medicine Master Liuliguang Rulai clasped his hands together and said slowly: "All living beings are suffering, sinking in the sea of suffering, life in the world, such as being in the midst of thorns, the heart does not move, people do not move, and if they do not move, they will not be hurt; If the heart moves, people move recklessly, hurt their bodies and hurt their bones, and then experience all kinds of pain in the world. ”

"Put an end to all evil."

"So sentient beings don't experience such pain."

"If sentient beings are so, they can attain the Dharma and attain Bodhi."

"What's wrong?"

When he spoke, the Buddha's light was unconsciously dimmed slightly.

The young man said: "That's how it should be, it's true." ”

"But pharmacist, you did this, have you ever asked the common people?"

"I've asked Cangsheng, are you willing to be crossed?"

The young Taoist stood up, looked at the monk in front of him with peaceful eyes, and said: "The Fa you just said is not false, but the poor Dao still has some doubts, life is in such a world, sentient beings must not move recklessly, so that they can not suffer, I agree." ”

"But what you are doing is using the Dharma as a chain to trap the common people."

"[Order] that they should not move."

"So they don't have to be pricked with needles."

"Is this a degree?"

The old monk folded his hands, lowered his eyes for a long time, and said, "Count." ”

"Because the common people don't have to suffer."

The young Taoist looked at him, thought for a moment, and said, "You are also saying this, pharmacist." ”

"But I still have a question, and I hope you can answer it."

"Please ......"

"The Buddha said that the five yin are full of suffering, then I will try, in terms of the five yin sheng, color, acceptance, thinking, action, knowledge, and the five aggregates are all suffering."

"You just mentioned the method of Guanyin in the South China Sea, I listened to it and understood it a little."

"It is because people can perceive the outside world and feel the appearances, so they will be disturbed by all the external aspects, so they will lead to greed, hatred, and ignorance, so Buddhism says that [hue is empty], which is what it means, hue is emptiness, it is a kind of realm, which means that no matter how complicated the outside world is, no matter how changes you experience, all these external appearances will not affect the inner realm of the practitioner, right?"

At this moment, he turned to the young Taoist to ask, and the old monk was silent for a long time, and sighed:

"What the real person said is right."

The young Taoist shook his head and said, "It shouldn't be a real person." ”

He also said, "Then what the Buddha hopes for is that sentient beings themselves will come to the realm of penetrating [hue is emptiness]. ”

"Right?"

The Buddha's light on the old monk's body has been confined to this room, and he lowered his eyes for a long time, and said, "What the real person said is right. ”

"What my Buddha hopes is that sentient beings can come this far."

So the young Taoist asked suspiciously:

"But aren't you doing something so that they will never have a chance to get to this point?"

Just as seeing many things in this world can be painful. but do not blind men's eyes. ”

"Because all living beings will eventually die, kill him at birth, and let him go to the other side."

"Isn't that exactly what you've done, pharmacist?"

Medicine Master Liuliguang Rulai's body shook violently, raised his head suddenly, and blurted out: "No, I haven't!! ”

The young Taoist asked, "But aren't you directly depriving sentient beings of the opportunity to [see each other differently]?" ”

"The Buddha's hope is that all sentient beings come to [seeing all hues and all hues are empty]"

"And you let them not see the hue at all, and they have no chance to contact the hue at all, so they naturally feel that the hue is empty."

"But did they really have an epiphany?"

The Buddha light on the medicine master Liuliguang Rulai almost disappeared, and only an old monk remained.

The young Taoist sighed and said:

"Monk."

"Are you relieving people's troubles, or are you uprooting people's wisdom?"

"Why do you have such an idea?"

The old monk said bitterly:

"I just want to learn from the Buddha to live the common life, and I just hope that the common people will not suffer so much."

Qi Wufu paused, and then he was really just puzzled, and naturally asked:

"So, the Buddha in your mouth, did you treat you like you do now?"

Did the Buddha do the same to you?

It was also because the hue was bitter, because all living beings were bitter.

Will it help you, [all afflictions] will be extinguished?

This sentence was just a doubt, but in the mouth of the old monk, it was like Hong Zhong Da Lu, deafening, and he suddenly recalled that day, when he was still a poor medicine master, he saw the dazed man under the Bodhi tree, and then he told himself and others about the original Dharma, which was the Four Noble Truths.

What did he tell himself at the time......

And he said, This is suffering, and thou shalt leave.

This is the set, you should decide.

This is destruction, and you should bear witness.

This is the way, you should cultivate.

He pointed out the Four Noble Truths and then told me that it can be done, and you can try to do it.

I've done it, so you can too.

That's all he has.

The old monk suddenly grieved, there was a feeling of taking the wrong path, his heart was tingling, the Buddha light on his body had disappeared in an instant, it seemed that the Buddha light was too blazing before, when such a Buddha light dissipated, there was only a darkness left around, the old monk staggered, wanted to get up, but because he recalled that person, and recalled his dream of predicting the future, he was so sad that he couldn't help himself.

He stumbled and fell to his knees.

His hands were on the ground, and tears were pouring down.

"Ah......h

"My Buddha, is the disciple so wrong?"

"You have already set an example, but I have only gone to the surface, how can I misunderstand your meaning to such a situation."

The young Taoist was silent, and suddenly said softly, "The one who guided you." ”

"It's not there anymore."

There is mercy in this sentence, but it is like a sword stabbing pain.

The old monk couldn't help himself with grief, and then cried loudly.

I only felt that there was darkness around me, there was no guide in the road ahead, and I had taken the wrong path.

Suddenly the light turned on, he subconsciously raised his head, and saw the young Taoist walking with an oil lamp, leaning down slightly, the oil lamp in his hand illuminated himself, the old monk raised his cuffs, wiped his tears, and said:

"It's the old monk who is so rude that he let Daojun see such a side."

"There are so many faults that it's extremely difficult to return."

"When I think about it, I feel more and more sad."

Qi Wufu said: "No need to thank you, it's not me who helped you, it's you yourself who always knew that I just happened to say something to remind you of him." ”

The old monk sighed and said, "It's a pity, I've been so wrong. ”

"It's all the more painful to be so far away from what he was taught."

Qi Wu said confusedly: "Then why don't you turn back?" ”

The old monk's body shook violently.

"Turning Back ......"

"If you go the wrong way, shouldn't you turn back?"

The old monk murmured, "Can I turn back?" ”

"If you want, why not?"

The old monk sighed: "It's me who still has a lot of things......"

"Do you want to turn back?"

So the old monk paused.

The young Taoist put the oil lamp back on the table, and then said, "I have already heard from you about the truth of suffering, the truth of concentration. ”

"So I don't agree with you about the true stopping."

"I also have a little idea."

"Pharmacist, you can listen to it, just think it's just a casual joke of an ordinary Taoist."

The old monk got up and sat back, and when he saw the young Taoist getting up, his voice was clear, and he said:

"My Daomen lives on the sun and the moon."

"The sun rises and the moon sets, and the light shines, which is practice."

And the truth says that all suffering comes from samadhi, and this samadhi is greed, hatred, and ignorance, like fire. The light of the fire is the countless desires that shoot out from this source, and these desires are reflected in the eyes, so that the light of life of the sun and the moon cannot be seen. ”

"And the true extinction, perhaps."

The boy got up and gently blew out the oil lamp.

The window in the pavilion of this Taoist view was opened, and the moonlight gently poured in, sprinkled on the body of the young Taoist, and on his shoulders, and also fell into the room, illuminating the square inch, the monk's eyes widened, looking at the young Taoist under the moonlight, he stretched out his hand and pointed to the oil lamp, pure and comfortable, and said with a smile: "It is not to extinguish all the desires of the common people, but only to extinguish the fire of self-greed and hatred." ”

"So many evil desires and evil tastes naturally dissipate."

"The sun and the moon can be seen."

The old monk looked at the young Taoist under the moonlight, and suddenly laughed.

Laughing and laughing, suddenly choked up.

"I see......"

"It's not the extinction of the degree, but the extinction of the blow."

"Blowing out greed and hatred, it can be seen that it is coming."

"Yes, how could a person like him describe his Fa in terms of transgression? It's because we've been wrong all along, we've always misunderstood...... Why don't we really understand His Method? ”

Countless glass worlds have been restored to their original appearance, bright and clear, without the slightest mistake.

The moonlight shone all over the Bodhisattva, but he suddenly sensed it, raised his head, and saw the medicine master who closed his eyes and condensed the Dharma body, and suddenly wept and wept sadly.

Then he slowly opened his eyes.

The active choice stopped condensing one's own Fa, one's own strength, and one's own appearances.

Under the moonlight, the old monk in the Yang Refining Concept folded his hands and said:

"The poor monk wants to turn back, but he can't support it alone......"

"Please, Taishang Xuanwei real person help me."

Just like the ordinary young Taoist was called to break the Taoist number, he made a pause, raised his eyes and saw that the monk was pure and comfortable, the old monk had a smile on the corner of his mouth, but his eyes were clear, as if he could investigate everything, Buddhism has his heart, but the young Taoist felt the old man's relief and let go at the moment, and he also understood the old man's choice in an instant, and he didn't say anything again.

The old monk thanked him, sat cross-legged under the moonlight, folded his hands, and said gently:

"May I be ...... in the next life when I attain Bodhi"

The young man wore a robe and said:

"May you be born in the next life, and you can attain Bodhi."

The old monk thanked him, just reciting the Buddhist scriptures, Qi Wufu stood next to him, the monk was sitting cross-legged, the Taoist was standing, the monk was on the moon and the young man was on the moon, the old man recited the original Dharma under the Bodhi tree, and then the forearm of the right hand was raised in front of the chest, the fingers were naturally stretched upward, the palm of the hand was outward, and the fearless seal was cast; The left hand is lowered in front of the knee, the palm is facing outward, and the wish seal is given.

The young Taoist's right hand hung down, and his sleeves and robes fluttered.

The middle finger of the left hand is slightly bent inward.

Thumb pressed the tips of the middle and ring fingers.

Decide by the way.

Taking a step forward, the sleeve robe swept over, and the monk closed his eyes. I recalled the countless Buddhist scriptures in my heart.

They all say that I smell it, but in the end it is covered by other sounds.

The young man had a mantra in his mouth, his voice was gentle, and the Tao was decided, and he said so, and he said—

"The Imperial Decree!"
