Chapter 13 Try
It's late at night, and everyone is quiet.
Lumien awoke from his dream again, and the first thing that caught his eye was a faint gray mist.
Instinctively, he raised his hand and slipped it into the pocket of his clothes.
The touch of cold, hard metal then came to his mind.
He pulled out the object he had touched, and a touch of gold lit up his eyes.
It's a gold coin.
One gold louis.
"It's still ......" Lumian sat up, looking down at himself.
He was still wearing the cotton clothes, cotton pants and leather jacket he had made from his last exploration, and his nearly two-meter-long steel fork and sharp iron-black axe were within reach.
It was exactly the same state he was in when he came out of his dream.
"In other words, this dream is developing, and you don't have to start all over again every time you enter...... "Lumian played with the gold louis and put it in the pocket of the padded coat inside.
Although this cannot be brought to reality, it is also pleasant to look at.
Lumian rolled out of bed and looked out the window for a moment, making sure that there was no noticeable change in the reddened peaks of the ruins.
He grabbed his axe and steel fork and walked out of his room into the dimly lit hallway.
Aurore's bedroom and study remained open.
Lumian glanced at it, and suddenly an idea came to him:
"In the dream, my room basically corresponds to reality, everything that should be, and the first look of Aurel is the same.
"So, can I find her witchcraft notes, secret potion recipes, or how to become a wizard in this bedroom?"
The thought was like a whisper of the devil, and it made Lumian's heart pound and he wanted to try.
Rather than exploring the unknown, dangerous, mysterious, and eerie ruins, rummaging through Auror's room is an easier and safer option.
No, no! Lumian shook his head sharply, tossing the thought aside.
He would rather venture than snoop into Aurore's privacy, and he wouldn't rummage through Auror's bedroom until he had her permission.
It's a sign of respect for Auror.
If it weren't for Aurel, he would have died five years earlier, as a vagabond.
Lumian withdrew his gaze in pain and walked up the stairs.
The owner of the bedroom had changed to anyone other than Aurel, and he had now gone in to find useful information.
Descending the stairs, Lumian did not rush out of the house, but checked the kitchen reserves.
Oroor's stock of olive oil, corn oil and animal fat, neatly arranged in buckets and cans, is just like reality.
Almost subconsciously, Lumian took out the bucket of corn oil and placed it next to the stove.
The only reason he chose this way was that animal fat and olive oil were more expensive.
Then, skillfully using coal and wood, he lit a fire in the stove and made a few torches to be lit.
This was in preparation for the incineration of that monster.
Of course, it would be better if there were other ways to solve it, and this is the last option.
With that done, he picked up his axe and opened the door.
Lumien quickly noticed something different:
The faint gray mist that permeated the dream was a little more damp than the last time, and the ground beneath his feet was slightly muddy.
"It's rained? When I wasn't there, when I wasn't dreaming, it still existed, and it evolved naturally according to certain laws? Lumian was both a little surprised and inexplicably felt that it should be so.
Thinking of the weird stories that Auroel had written, he suddenly had a guess:
"This can't be the real world, can it?
"My dreams are connected to a real world, and the purpose of that tarot card to keep me awake is to cross the barrier between the dream and the ruins?"
Lumian hurriedly glanced left and right, and found that on both sides of the ruins, the "edge" of the dream, was a gray mist with no end in sight.
"After that, you can verify that you don't go to the ruins, go outside the gray fog, and see if it is a strange and illogical dream after penetrating the gray fog, or the real earth, sky, villages and towns......"
If it's the former, then it's still a dream, and if not, Lumian has to confirm which world it is.
He believes that from the use of Golden Louis, it seems that this place is still in the Republic of Intis, but it is not necessarily the current era, maybe it is a place that was lost and disappeared decades or hundreds of years ago.
However, Lumian felt that there was a high probability that he would not be able to get out of the gray fog around him.
Reining his thoughts, he continued his way towards the ruins.
He hadn't forgotten that the purpose of this dream was to try to deal with the monster.
After walking a hundred or two hundred meters on the muddy wilderness full of gravel and cracks, Lumien suddenly stopped.
A question came to his mind.
There was a mistake in the preparation just now!
Before, the two-story building of his house had no fire, and it was very safe in this world shrouded in gray fog, but now, it has a furnace fire, revealing light, will it attract a large number of monsters, so that the safe zone is no longer safe?
Lumian subconsciously turned his head and looked where he had come, only to see that in the faint gray mist, the crimson light was printed on the different glass windows at the bottom of the half-ground-like two-story building.
It's like a beacon in a dark world.
Considering that much time had passed, and that it was clearly too late to try to extinguish the fire, Lumian quickened his pace and went into the ruins, hiding in the building that had collapsed from burning on the edge.
He pinned the axe to the belt behind his back, climbed up a wall with great dexterity, and hid in a dark corner separated by the masonry and wood.
Lumian looked out at his home on the other side of the wilderness.
As the minutes ticked by, he didn't see any monsters attracted to the fire, approaching that side.
"It seems that the fire will not make any difference, at least it will not make my house surrounded by monsters......" Lumian quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
This means that even if he encounters any danger, as long as he can escape home in time and fall asleep as soon as possible, he can get rid of it smoothly.
He began to think about how to draw up and deal with the previous monster:
"From the last short fight, its strength, speed, reflexes and agility are all similar to mine, but it is obvious that it fights on instinct, does not have enough experience and skill, and does not have the corresponding intelligence, so I can kill it in the case of a surprise attack......
"It's also stunned, it's frozen, it's no different from a human......
"In addition to fighting skills, I am better than it in two other points, one is that I am crushing in IQ, and the other is that I can use weapons and tools, which is the biggest advantage of human beings over this kind of monster......
"As long as I'm careful, it's not hard to beat it again, the focus is on how to get rid of it completely......"
Just as Lumian was trying to deliberately make a little noise to see if he could attract some monsters to him, he saw a figure approaching silently next to the completely collapsed house on the side.
The figure was blood-red and skinless, revealing muscles, blood vessels, and fascia, just like the monster from last time.
And unlike last time, the monster was carrying a dung fork in his hand.
Dung fork!
"It also uses weapons...... Lumian's face stiffened for a moment, and his expression became bitter.
His faith dropped a little.
As the monster approached and turned, Lumian saw exaggerated wounds on its back, neck, and back of its head, but the cracks were no longer bleeding pus, and were in a half-healed state.
"It's indeed the one I came across before......
"Its self-healing ability is many times stronger than that of normal humans......
Lumian gasped silently.
He forced himself to calm down and quickly analyzed the current situation.
In the blink of an eye, Lumien made a decision:
Now is a good opportunity, and when you encounter an opportunity, you must strive for it, and you can't miss it!
He quietly pulled a stone brick out of his side, waiting for the monster to get to where he expected.
In a step or two, the monster entered Lumian's "ambush circle".
Lumien jerked the stone brick out and threw it at the ground behind the monster.
Boom!
The stone bricks fell, causing the monster to turn sharply and look at what was attacking it.
Seeing this, Lumian grabbed the axe in both hands and fiercely jumped at the monster from the side from the wall.
Bang!
The axe, with the weight of its fall, slammed into the monster's neck, splitting most of it in half.
There were two plops, and Lumien and the monster fell to the ground at the same time.
Lumian leaped to his feet, grabbed his axe, and ran over, slashing at the monster's neck.
One, two, three times, and the monster had its head cut off before it had time to resist.
As the head rolled to the side, the skinless body twitched twice, no longer moving.
Lumian didn't stop there, took a diagonal step, turned the axe, and slammed the hideous head with his thick back, smashing it to pieces.
Immediately afterward, he turned around and slashed several axes into his exposed muscles, blood vessels, and fascia, smashing the heart and other vital organs.
After doing all this, Lumian took two steps back, looked at his masterpiece, gasped, and chuckled in a low voice:
"I thought you really couldn't kill, who knew that you were capable of this!"
In the midst of a controlled laugh, the headless corpse suddenly flicked.
Lumian's eyes tightened, and he subconsciously wanted to turn around and run away.
He resisted the urge and stepped forward again, raising his axe.
After two bounces, the corpse regained its composure, seemingly only in a dying unsuccessful struggle.
Lumian watched for a while, and finally confirmed that the monster was completely dead.
"The vitality is so tenacious...... Lumian sighed secretly, then leaned closer, squatted down, picked open the muscles and fascia with an axe, and examined the corpse.
The monster's body structure was no different from that of a human, but its body was noticeably more vigorous, and even though it was dead, there was still a slight wriggling of some of the incisions.
"There's no treasure, and there's no supernatural power transferred into my body......" Lumian assessed his current state, a little disappointed for a moment.
What is stronger every monster you kill, and sure enough, it only exists in Auror's story.
He then took the monster's body and head into the collapsed building, and buried it with bricks and wooden blocks.
He then searched the burned house, hoping to get something out of it.
