Chapter 20: Someone Arrived Before Me!
The first day of school in Gryffindor's second year was really tough.
After the morning herb and transfiguration classes, there was also a Defence Against the Dark Arts class in the afternoon.
After lunch, the two headed straight to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom.
Although there is still more than an hour before the afternoon class, it is good to go to the classroom and read a book first.
It was overcast outside, and it was impossible to sunbathe in the yard.
Harley had thought that she could read a book quietly with Hermione for a long time before anyone in the classroom arrived.
But she was wrong, and someone even went before herself and Hermione!
Lavender and Parvati, a pair of best friends, settled lunch early and sat in the front row of the classroom.
There were also two Hufflepuff girls with Harley's rare impression of them, and the four of them firmly occupied the middle of the first row.
"Looks like our dear Professor Lockhart is very welcome!" Harley whispered to Hermione.
"Just him?" Hermione scoffed.
She had heard from Harley what had happened before the morning herbal class and had completely changed her senses about Professor Lockhart.
After all, according to Hallie, she just used a very simple spell.
But Professor Lockhart couldn't even break the simple spell cast by the weak, helpless second-year girl, and he didn't even dodge it!
Hermione, who had absolute trust in Harley, did not doubt Harley's words.
Although Hermione, who had seen the image of Harley easily killing the troll, did not believe that Harley said that she was a petite and cute weak woman, he did not think that Professor Lockhart was weak at first.
After all, according to Professor Lockhart's book, the professor easily killed a group of trolls more than once!
As it turned out, Professor Lockhart was defeated by Harley, a second-year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry......
Lose face!
Hermione was already thinking about reporting him directly to the principal if Professor Lockhart's first class was really too embarrassing, asking for a change of professor.
……
Over time, the front row of the classroom fills up quickly.
Hallie sat in the corner of the last row of the classroom, looking at the little witches in front of her, and gained a new understanding of Professor Lockhart's charm.
Of course, Hallie was confident that she was full of charm, and it was definitely more effective than Professor Lockhart.
However, Harley relied on the extraordinary abilities brought by the potions of the witch's path, and Professor Lockhart relied purely on his appearance, personality, and eloquence!
When the bell rang, Professor Lockhart was late.
The cyan robe he had worn in the morning had also turned sky blue. Obviously, the folds in the teal robe didn't meet his needs when he first appeared.
The collar of the robe was high enough to block his neck so that the scars of the silk threads would not be exposed—Harley had no mercy at all in the morning, and had really tried to tighten the threads.
Professor Lockhart put the book down in his hand and shook his head deliberately so that the whole class could see his reorganized hairstyle.
"Hello everyone, students!" Professor Lockhart began to introduce himself after coughing a few times, attracting the attention of the whole class, mainly the boys in the back row,
"I think everyone knows me, but I'm going to introduce myself here—"
As he spoke, he picked up Neville Longbottom's book "Walking with Trolls" on the side.
Hallie looked at the sunny picture of Professor Lockhart smiling at the top and wondered if he had been smiling so brightly when he had just finished his adventure, or if he couldn't laugh at all when he was beaten by the trolls.
"—I, Gilderoy Lockhart, Lord Merlin, 3rd Class......" Professor Lockhart was unconscious, pointing to the photograph and beginning his self-introduction, or rather an honor.
The girls in the front row all leaned forward involuntarily, as if they wanted to get closer to Professor Lockhart.
And this is the exact opposite of the actions of the boys in the back row.
"I see that you all bought my full set of books, and sure enough, you like them, don't you?" Professor Lockhart said loudly, ignoring the muttering of the two boys in the back row.
"Then let's do a quiz first. Don't be afraid, it's just a matter of how well you read and how much you understand! ”
Professor Lockhart handed out the papers one by one to the students before returning to the podium: "Give you thirty minutes, now—begin!" ”
Hallie looked at the scroll in her hand, blinked, and unabashedly turned her head to look at Hermione's share.
Lockhart, who was standing at the top, naturally saw Harry's actions.
He coughed slightly, and seeing that Hallie didn't pay attention to him at all, he consciously turned his gaze to the other side.
After confirming that the back scroll was the same as her own, and not that there was something wrong with her own scroll, Harley collapsed directly on the table:
"Hermione, you're going to copy it for me, aren't you?" As she spoke, Harley blinked slightly with her wide, watery eyes.
Hermione couldn't help but roll her eyes with a hard blow on Harry's head with her quill before she began to answer the paper quickly.
Hermione, who likes to read, had already read these textbooks during the holidays and memorized almost all of them.
Hallie was so bored playing with the spider silk and making them make all sorts of shapes in front of her—
From small daggers and table knives to miniature spears and heavy flails, the kind that can hammer a human head into powder with a single blow.
Professor Lockhart on the podium had turned his body completely over, staring at the other corner of the classroom.
Neville, who was unusually sensitive to his gaze, was about to cry at this point.
Could it be that in addition to Professor Snape, Professor Lockhart of the Defence Against the Dark Arts course also saw that his own strength was not good?
Otherwise, why would Professor Lockhart be staring at me so deadly?
As the paper was about to be handed in, Hallie quickly "borrowed" Hermione's exam paper, not forgetting to change the name to her own.
I heard at noon today that a Hufflepuff classmate was reprimanded because Professor Sprout didn't receive his vacation assignments, but received two copies of Hallie's assignments!
"Tut-tut, that's a bad answer...... Professor Lockhart flipped through all the papers as he walked through his classmates.
He shook his head again and again, picking out a whole bunch of questions.
"But!" The professor's tone suddenly became excited, "I really didn't expect two students to get a perfect score!"
Miss Harry Potter and Miss Hermione Granger! Would you please raise your hand? ”
Hallie lay on the table, lazily holding out a hand. Hermione next to her sat up straight, but it was more of a routine.
"That's good! Both of them answered Gryffindor! Gryffindor plus thirty points! Professor Lockhart shouted.
