Chapter 31: The Death Eaters Crash Course, courtesy of Azkaban High Academy
As class approached, the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom was already full.
Everyone took out their "Dark Magic: Self-Defense Guide" and waited quietly, and the atmosphere in the classroom was extremely serious.
Soon, the students heard Professor Moody's distinctive "ooh" footsteps, and the sound was getting closer and closer down the hallway.
Professor Moody walked slowly into the classroom on crutches.
His appearance is as scary as usual, but he has a different kind of unique charm.
The claw-like wooden foot peeked out from under his robes, but Professor Moody didn't seem to care, not even wanting to use magic to disguise it as a real foot.
"Put all these things, your textbooks, and your quills!"
Professor Moody said in a rough voice, and walked to the podium with difficulty, sat down in a chair, and threw his cane aside,
"Judging by my syllabus, these bedtime books for children probably won't be needed this school year."
There was a buzz of excitement in the classroom.
When a professor asks students to put away their textbooks and pens, it means that the lesson is practical.
Leaving aside the practical lessons of the other classes, when it came to Defence Against the Dark Arts, only the second-year one, taught by Professor Lockhart, left a bad experience for the young wizards.
Last semester, Professor Lupin's practical class was very interesting and benefited the students a lot.
Accordingly, Professor Quirrell's lessons were boring, and Professor Lockhart's play was interesting at first, but it began to become boring later.
So now Professor Moody's is ready for a hands-on class...... His position in the little wizard's heart is directly full!
Professor Moody pulled out the roll call and shook his head, struggling to shake the long gray hair away from his scarred face.
Professor Moody's normal eye moved down the list, and the magic eye began to spin and watch each student answer.
Professor Moody looked up at Harley as he clicked on him, his intact eyes looking at Harry.
After a few moments, he resumed his roll call.
It wasn't until the last student had answered that Professor Moody tucked the roll call back into the drawer of his desk:
"Alright, now let's get down to business."
"Before coming to this position, I received a letter from your last professor, Professor Lupin."
"He gave me a brief introduction to the course and told me about your basics."
"I don't want to comment on my colleagues lightly, except for the Dark Wizards."
"You're unlucky," Professor Moody said, standing up, "and you're unfortunate to have two dark wizards with a different purpose as Defence Against the Dark Arts professors. ”
"This has slowed down your progress in class a lot."
"But you're also lucky, I've been in contact with Remus for a long time, and I know that he is indeed a top master when it comes to dealing with dark magic creatures."
"You've learned how to deal with most of the common dark magic creatures, and even werewolves, right?"
The students below all nodded proudly, looking very proud.
"But in my opinion, these are useless!" Professor Moody's voice rose sharply and slapped the table hard.
Many of the students sat up straight, and in the last row, a few Ravender and Parvati, who were passing the fortune-telling charts of the Heavenly Palace to each other, were even more startled and hurriedly ended their small actions.
But after a while, after the students reacted, some people questioned Professor Moody's words.
"Professor, I have a different opinion." After raising her hand and receiving a nod of agreement from Professor Moody, Susan of Hufflepuff stood up,
"I think what we've learned is still very useful."
"I don't think I'll ever forget how to deal with the Boggart, how to deal with the Red Hats, how to expel Hinkpunk for the rest of my life."
"Oh?" Professor Moody let out a sneer in his hoarse voice,
"You're Miss Susan Bones, aren't you? Amelia Bones' niece? ”
After receiving a nod from Susan, Professor Moody asked in a rough voice:
"So did your aunt tell you about the death records of wizards in recent years?"
"How many people have died from red hats? How many people died from Boggart? To be more serious, how many people have died from werewolf teeth? ”
"Did your aunt tell you not to go into Tumbledown Alley, where there are dark wizards, and list the number of wizards who die under the dark magic each year?"
"Did she tell you that in the archives of the Law Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Magic, there are countless cases of black magic hurting and killing."
"And the cases of magical beasts in the Magical Beasts Management and Control Division have only been a handful in recent years, and the number of deaths is almost zero!"
Susan opened her mouth, but said nothing, after all, Professor Moody was telling the truth.
Professor Moody thumped the floor a few more times with his cane:
"As I said, the vast majority of wizards will struggle to encounter many dark magic creatures in their lifetimes, and a large number of them are not yet lethal."
"Dark wizards are different, they are the biggest threat to ordinary wizards."
"Especially now that the wizarding world is not calm, and the undercurrents are turbulent......"
"Professor!" Hannah raised her hand, "I feel very safe in the wizarding world right now. ”
"Safe?" Professor Moody's mouth twisted into a strange grin.
After a few moments, he tapped on the blackboard, and a green mark gradually took shape on the board.
Many of the students gasped and subconsciously leaned back.
"Miss Abbot, could you please tell me, what is this mark?"
"Yes...... It's the Dark Mark......" Hannah's voice trembled a little, and her words weren't particularly sharp.
"That's right, it's the Dark Mark mark." Professor Moody hovered around the podium,
"The Mark of the Dark Devil symbolizing Voldemort!"
After hearing the name, another gasp sounded from under the podium, but Professor Moody didn't care,
"This mark just appeared on the night of the final of the Quidditch World Cup, and it hung in the sky, creating panic and humiliating all the Aurors!"
"And coincidentally, there was also a riot that night, a riot on a large scale."
"If it weren't for someone in the class who happened to be at the scene, I think there would have been a lot of casualties that day."
As he spoke, Professor Moody nodded at Hallie.
"Harley, I sincerely think you're fit to be an Auror. You're so much better than the unfinished wooden stakes I brought out! ”
"If I hadn't retired, the Aurors who are currently in service would have to retake all of their psychological qualities!"
Professor Moody waved his wand again, and the marker on the blackboard vanished. This relieved the whole class.
"Then I want to ask you, do you still think the wizarding world is very safe now?"
Professor Moody's voice was not loud, but it was deafening,
"Is it safe? Insecurity! ”
"But what is this, I've seen more dangerous scenes!"
"Do you need me to tell you about the wizarding wars I went through?"
"Herds of giants, corpses all over the mountains, elusive werewolves...... And the dark wizards who hide in the crowd and use the dark magic that can kill them at any time! ”
"Have you ever seen a sky covered in all sorts of magical flames and deadly spells? Have you ever seen a hill of corpses? Have you ever seen the Aurors and Death Eaters all fight to the point of exhaustion, their eyes bloodshot, their wands in their hands, and still cast spells with perseverance? ”
"You haven't seen it!"
"Do you still dare to think that the wizarding world is absolutely safe, and that you have enough self-protection ability!"
The classroom was silent, except for Hallie's indifferent staring into Professor Moody's eyes.
The complicated emotions in his eyes can't be faked, and he deserves to be a legendary Auror.
Professor Moody tapped the blackboard hard:
Now let's get down to business. In this semester, I will teach you some useful knowledge. ”
"The first question in class...... Do any of you know which spells are explicitly forbidden by wizarding law and are subject to the most severe penalties if used? ”
Several hands were raised tremblingly, including Ron, who had not been willing to raise his hand once in four years.
"Mr. Weasley." Professor Moody looked at Ron, "Okay...... So please tell me about it. ”
"I remember having a ...... Imperius Curse. Ron's voice seemed less assured,
"This Imperius curse should be one of the Unforgivable Curses."
"My dad mentioned it, it seems to be a spell...... It caused a lot of ...... to the Ministry of Magic Great ......"
"Big trouble." Professor Moody helped Ron finish what he wanted to say and nodded approvingly,
"Oh yes, your father must be very familiar with that spell."
"The Imperius Curse is one of the Unforgivable Curses. Although this spell does almost no damage to the human body, it is almost the spell that has caused the most trouble for the Ministry of Magic. ”
"Whether it was back then or recently, there are many people who have relied on this excuse to get rid of the fate of entering Azkaban!"
Professor Moody sneered and waved his wand.
Three glass bottles appeared on the table, each containing a spider.
Ron's body shook violently, and he propped up the table with his hands in time to keep it from falling.
Professor Moody tapped on one of the glass bottles, and the cap opened automatically, sending the spider flying onto the table.
"Out of body." Professor Moody said calmly, pointing his wand at the spider.
There was no light on the tip of his wand, but the spider was suddenly calm.
Without seeing any movement from Professor Moody, the spider began to jump up and down, and then ran around the bottle.
After the third lap, it suddenly performed a handstand, followed by two flips in the air.
Eventually, the spider even stood up on its two hind legs and began to perform a tap dance.
Most of the students laughed, but Professor Moody didn't, and neither did Hallie, Hermione, and a few other students.
The laughter quickly subsided, and all eyes were on Professor Moody.
"You guys think it's fun, don't you?" Professor Moody whispered,
"But if you were the one who fell under the spell, and the person who used the spell was a vicious Death Eater, a madman with no moral boundaries, would you laugh so merrily as you do now?"
There was a deathly silence in the classroom, and many students even held their breath.
"That's what the Imperius Curse does, so that the living beings who fall under the spell are completely under my control."
Professor Moody's voice was hoarse, but unusually clear,
"I can make this spider do anything, even things that are beyond the limits of its life, like running and fighting regardless of the damage to its limbs."
"I can even hold its breath and suffocate itself if I want to."
"Do you still think, is that funny?"
Looking at the fear on the students' faces, Professor Moody couldn't help but shake his head.
"Look, you think you're good at magic and can deal with ordinary dark magic creatures."
"But if I use a random spell, you feel so frightened."
"Your psychology is not strong enough, and your level is not high enough, so when facing the dark wizard, there is no room for resistance."
"That's why I'm giving you these lessons, as I said to Albus, at least to show you what true cruelty is."
"Go on!"
Professor Moody drew two more students and uttered the other two spells of the Unforgivable Curse, the Heart Piercing Spell and the Death Seeking Spell.
He then used the two spiders to demonstrate, and the two spiders showed off the power of the spell.
The two spells didn't look so pleasant, and many of the young wizards turned pale with fright, almost fainting or slipping off the bench.
Neville's reaction was particularly violent, but Professor Moody promptly lifted the Mind Curse and apologized to Neville without explanation.
This surprised the students, and Neville's reaction was even more astonishing.
"It's not your fault, Professor."
Neville's hands were still clutching the table in front of him, his joints white, his voice trembling, but full of determination,
"It's my fault...... It's me who is too cowardly...... I ......"
Professor Moody sighed, looked at the inquiring students in the room, and patted Neville's head lightly.
After asking Neville to stay after class and talk to him about something, Moody continued the lecture.
The detailed explanations of the spells and the abundance of cases provided are a perfect demonstration of Professor Moody's knowledge.
It's just the style of this classroom...... How is it so like a Death Eater induction course kindly offered by Azkaban?
