Chapter Fifty-Six: Otherworldly Monsters

At Elika's urging, Abides uses a teleportation scroll to open a portal, and he walks in front, followed by Kane, who breaks behind. Passing through the black magic portal, before he could marvel at the beauty of magic, he came to an eerie bare wood.

The trees here are surprisingly tall and thin, covered with ugly nodules and knots, and there is not a single leaf between the branches. They are like dead corpses stripped naked and turned into trees. There was no light in the woods, and it was dark everywhere. The temperature is not low, but it makes people feel cold, the skin is covered with goosebumps, and the hairs stand on end.

It's a suffocating place. Abidades and Elika looked untouched by the environment. They reminded Kane to keep up and not to be left behind, or some of the creatures in the woods would use him as food for their belly.

They walked a distance, passed several intersections, and walked across a black, withered wooden boardwalk. The crumbling body of the bridge raises doubts that he will be able to withstand the weight of a kick. Abides confidently stepped onto the wooden bridge, which only creaked slightly, and Abides walked steadily along.

"Hurry up and keep up." Elika reminded him again as she passed by.

Kane followed them across the wooden bridge. Passing by a forest ranger's wooden house, there is a large spider web in the corner of the old and dilapidated wooden house, and a large spider with a multicolored belly guards the middle of the spider web, waiting for the prey to come to the door.

Abydes takes Kane to the final destination of their trip. There were already seven or eight black-robed wizards waiting for their arrival. The circular stone altar is lined with a circle of sheep's head flags, and the stone floor of the altar has a strange pattern painted with a circle of grooves.

"It's been a long wait, it's time to start, please go up." Abydius made a gesture of please, "You stand in the center of the altar, and we'll ritualize the Shadow Portal open." Once you're inside, go find the tower you saw last time, take out the magic sword there, crush it again, and we'll bring you back. He handed Kane a talisman bag.

"Remember, don't provoke the creatures there on the way, if you don't attack them, they won't trouble you." Finally, Abides reminded again.

Kane stood in the center of the altar as the wizards of the Northland began to chant incantations, and Abydes pulled out a bottle of red blood and poured the liquid into the grooves of the altar's slate. Blood crawled slowly like a snake through every part of the groove.

Thunder began to roar in the sky, and the sheep's head flags were connected with white lightning. Thunder and lightning blurred the stone floor of the altar. It turned into a smooth mirror with only a ring of red runes on it. A door appeared at Kane's feet, and the black sheep's head stone door revealed an eerie aura.

The door sent out a super suction force to suck Kane's whole body inside, and before he could react, it was already dark in front of him. When the vision reappeared, he came to the same place he had been last time, but this time he landed at a different location. He didn't float above the sea of magma, he didn't see the eerie forest, he stood on a barren desert.

There was no sun in the sky, only a thick layer of dark clouds like a black curtain to obscure the sky, and the sun could not penetrate a single bit, or perhaps there was no sunlight at all. The desert is cold, with no heat, no water, no living creatures.

Is something wrong? This time, the foothold is different, only the desert that can't be seen, and the weird forest can't be found at all. Can't these wizards be more reliable? How to find the right direction to go out in this strange barren land, isn't this pure joke? Kane complained in his heart.

In the middle of the desert, a lone walker walked on foot, and he walked alone. He didn't actually know if he would be able to get to where he wanted to go if he kept going like this, but he couldn't help it, he didn't have any tools to navigate or determine his goal. I can only pray that my luck is not too bad, and if I walk a little further, I may appear out of thin air, after all, it is normal for this kind of weird place to play cards out of common sense.

It didn't turn out as he wanted, he walked for a long time and still didn't see a shadow of the trees, he climbed a crescent-shaped dune, stood on the soft fine sand, and he looked ahead. There is not a single ghost here except sand and sand, "Ghosts don't come to this place!" It's barren. Kane cursed quietly.

Suddenly, the sand beneath his feet began to move, and the dunes seemed to come alive. He slid unsteadily down the dune, and then he saw that the dune had grown two thick legs and slender forelimbs. It's a monster that shakes the sand off its body. Kane saw him for what he was. Yellow hard skin, chicken-like head, but no hair, bald chicken.

This guy was so ugly, Kane took a few steps back and looked at the monster half his height, he didn't act rashly, he just stood and waited for the guy's next move.

The monster screamed in rage, as if angry at the disturbance of its dreams, its head looking left and right, its white eyes searching for the one that disturbed it. Its gaze fell on Kane, and a "squeak" sound came out of its throat, and it seemed to be very happy. The anger vanished, tinged with joy. That's a good thing for Kane, he doesn't fight this creature of unknown power. Although he found out that his strength had reached the fifth level of knight in those boring days.

The monster approached him, and Kane stepped back, his sword raised to his chest in defense. The monster was not frightened when it saw the steel sword, and it seemed that it didn't care about the steel sword. Kane was on his toes.

He said to the monster, "You'd better go back, I don't want to cut off your's head in such a place." If you go any further, my sword will be in motion! ”

Apparently, the monster didn't understand him, and it lunged at Kane. Kane's dexterous figure dodged its attack, "Alright! I didn't want to get in trouble, but I'd be happy to cut off your's head. ”

Kane slid sideways onto it, steel sword slashing at its legs. The hard skin wasn't as hard to break as Kane thought, and the steel sword left wounds on it, green blood flowing.

"It's disgusting!" Kane said as he covered his nose as he smelled the green blood with an unbearable stench. The monster clutched its wounded ground with its slender forelimbs and wailed, its screams piercing to the ears of the entire forest.

"It's not like calling a helper! This despicable fellow, even if I call for help, I will cut off your chicken head first, and talk about it! Kane sprang and leaped to his feet. The powerful bouncing force brought him to the height of the monster's head, and his steel sword slashed at the monster's head.

The monster felt mortal danger coming at it, and its claws crossed into a cross to block higher than its head, but it didn't do much, its head didn't fall off, and both of its claws were cut off.

The monster buried its head under the sand in agony, a foolish act that saved Kane most of his work, and he simply raised his sword and easily cut off the monster's head.

"This thing stinks!" He complained about the foul smell as he endured the stench to see if there was anything of value on the monster. As soon as he got close to the corpse, a cloud of dust rose from the desert in the distance, and there was a loud movement, like some group of organisms rushing towards him. Kane yelled, "Damn it! "And then he ran away.

The monster behind him was in hot pursuit, getting closer and closer. Those monsters were its companions, and the plea for help had been answered. They don't have a lot of combat power, judging by the guy they just killed, but Kane can't keep them alive with a stronger presence in their group. Even if there were no more powerful monsters, he would not be able to deal with so many monsters alone.

Kane felt that he was exhausted, there was a Gobi in front of him to hide, and if he ran there, he would have a chance to get rid of those guys. Kane ran as hard as he could, but instead of frightening him, the screams of the monsters behind him made Kane run harder. He ducked behind a yellow stone pillar, panting like a bellows pull, whirring.

His whole lungs were burning like fire, and he was exhausted from the runaway. Kane sat on the ground, resting his head on the rock, and he cautiously poked half his face out to see what was going on. The monsters didn't come towards him, turning into another road at a fork in the road, and Kane was relieved that he was safe for the time being.

He closed his eyes, just about to meditate and rest for a while to regain his strength, when a "grunting" sound alerted him. He saw a four-legged creature resembling a lizard resting on the back of a large rock. Its eyes slid as it stared at Kane, its forked tongue sticking out, as if searching for scents around it. It looks stupid and stupid. In short, it doesn't feel threatening.

It tilted its head sideways, its throat rolling, and made another "grunt" sound. Its limbs are thick, its two hind legs hang down, and its big tail is dangling, which makes it look extremely comfortable.

The lizard was no threat, so Kane naturally ignored it, and then he should think about how to find the place he went to last time, he couldn't go back if he couldn't get the magic sword, even if he burst the rune bag, he might not be able to go back. Who knows what kind of mentality those wizards have towards him, it is estimated that even if he gets the magic sword and goes out, maybe they may be sold to Bailly's bastard backhanded.

Unknown circumstances and uncertainties were confusing Kane's mind, so he had better get out of here and find the damn forest. Kane got up to cross the Gobi. When the lizard saw Kane get up, it also stood up, its round eyes blinking at Kane.

"Hey, what do you want to do, strange lizard, do you want to try the taste of a steel sword in your throat?" Kane was in a bad mood right now, and the lizard's behavior was a bit like a provocation in his eyes.

"I don't have time to play with you." With that, he walked into the chasm on the left, for elsewhere he might run into those damned "chicken-headed monsters"β€”the makeshift name he had just given to these pesky monsters.

Walking this canyon to avoid the group of fellows, he walked into the canyon, and the lizard followed him, but some distance from him.
