Chapter Sixty-Four: Hunting Franco

Kane's luck wasn't too bad, the portal didn't get them too far. There is a ruined temple on Poplar Hill outside of Harrens, and the remnants of the divine power are just in time to lure them back.

Deep in the mountains and dense forests, weeds grow on the stone walls of the temple, and the vines entangle the statues of the gods who fall to the ground. Everything here seemed so foreign to Aruno.

"It's changed so much here, isn't the temple in my memory like this, the statues have decayed, and the old gods have been forgotten?" He said.

"Your people are decaying. Time washed away their miracles, and now the land is ruled by the human race, the elf race, the horned people, etc., and the god race has disappeared. There is hardly anyone who has ever seen the shadow of the Protoss, and their deeds are only circulated in stories.

"Maybe we will see the traces of God soon, and I believe that day will not be far away." Yaruno said confidently.

Kane knew where his confidence came from, and his appearance was sure to attract the attention of the gods. Kane had several speculations about Aruno's identity, but none were sure, and all the answers were possible.

They descended the dense path of the mountain, and the howl of wolves sounded in the woods, but they did not encounter a single wolf along the way. Alinus flew through the woods, and wherever it passed, the animals fled for hiding. The dark aura emanating from its body is too obvious to be suppressed, and the slightest leak can scare these creatures.

Kane told it to hide the darkness as much as possible, and if it couldn't, they wouldn't be able to get into Harrens. He could be detected by the magic detection of the entrance level alone, not to mention the high-ranking clergy of the Holy See that he might encounter after entering the city, and it was estimated that they would be able to identify it at a glance.

Alinus knew that his identity was special, and he only needed to tighten a part of his strength, and the dark aura on his body naturally covered the past. Out of Poplar Mountain, they finally found their way to the town.

Along the way, Aruno was amazed at how much the world had changed, and how new farming techniques he had never imagined before. He told Kane that farming would not be done this way on the continent where he lived. That magical continent is home to a breed of livestock that is used exclusively for farming.

Their hooves can easily gouge through the land, and farmers will put seeds in their mouths. These animals are so clever that they put a seed in every pit they dig and cover it with dirt. Once the crops are planted, they don't have to pay much attention to them, this fertile land full of magic will nourish the crops to grow.

Their production method is very primitive, every day is made at sunrise and rests at sunset. Every day is accompanied by the sunset. The simple folk customs and free country are desirable, and there are not too many cumbersome laws here. The king does not bind his subjects too much, nor does he casually wage war against foreign countries.

But these people have a strong sense of nationhood, and once their country is invaded, all the people will take up arms against the invaders, and all the people here are soldiers, and all together they are invincible armies.

His description struck Kane as amazed, he had never seen such a way of life, nor had he heard that the kingdom was built on such a system. In his view, a country would be invaded if it had no army, and those countries with weak armies in history would be flattened by strong armies.

It was hard for him to imagine that Yaruno came from such a simple country, and the people living in this environment should be people who yearn for peace and love tranquility, but Yaruno has always emphasized to him that if you want to become strong, the enemy should be trampled underfoot, and only strength will always exist, and strength will be supreme.

Maybe he's the way he is because he's gone through a lot of hardships I didn't expect, Kane thought to himself. In fact, he himself is such a person, he will either be eaten or choose to eat others.

If you want to change all this, you first need strength, a kind of power to change the world, and if you want to have this kind of strength, I am afraid you have to reach the height of a god.

They made their way along the green passage paved with breath of life, which Kane didn't recognize, and he wasn't sure if it led to Carrot City or Rand Town. So he approached a local farmer and asked about the road, and the farmer replied that this was south of Harrens, on the Malen border.

This territory is owned by Mollian. Viscount Hope governs. Kane had heard his name and had known from Wilkin's conversation that the viscount was a good lord who had been working to suppress the slave rebellion of Mullen.

After some chatting, Kane was surprised to hear that Mullen's slave rebellion had provoked a great reaction from Hammer, and Franco himself brought people over to suppress the rebellion. As an important member of the Hammer family, and even a second heir, Franco's arrival foreshadowed this rebellion.

Kane then asked the farmer about the situation in Rand Town, and he spoke with a slight apprehension, having not heard much about Rand since his accident. But the answer put him in a painful situation.

"Rand? Do you mean the domain of the Baron Kane? Alas... I've heard of that place, and the baron has a good heart, and is a very good young man. He earned a knighthood for his outstanding battles, which is truly enviable. But so what? It's not that Bailly died, and Rand Town is in ruins.

Viscount Mollian often talked about this as if to warn us, he said, 'Never offend the old nobles, even if you are lucky enough to become a nobleman, do not think that you have enough strength to wrestle with us', and when he said this, he was so angry that he simply looked at people through his nostrils. The farmer straightened the straw hat on his head, and then went on to work as he chattered about the oppression of Viscount Mollian.

Kane didn't listen to a word he said next. His mind was full of the news of Rand's destruction, and the bad news hit his heart like a giant hammer, and suddenly, he felt that his heart had become confused, empty, and had no belonging.

"Cheer up, Kane. Now is not the time to grieve, you should send all those enemies to hell. It's the stupidest thing to stand still and bask in grief like a little woman, and heal your wounds with the blood of your enemies. Aruno's diabolical voice began to bewitch Kane once more, and this time he succeeded, Kane erupted uncontrollably into intense rage.

His sudden explosion of revenge fireworks scared the farmer out of his pants, but even so, the fire of revenge didn't make him lose his mind and kill like a beast. He knows that there is a debtor and a debtor, and he must first find out how Rand perished and who his enemies are.

Compile the names of these people into a list to get revenge. His goal was clear, finding Franco was the quickest way to get to the truth, and now that he was in Mullen, it was much easier. He stole a horse from a nearby lord's stable and hurried as fast as he could.

It took three days, robbing the stables of three lords, and paralyzing four horses before he came to Mullen. Entering the city of Mullen, he noticed that the patrol guards and defenders were wearing the armor of the Hammer family. This time he stepped into the territory of the Hammer family, which was guarded by many soldiers and mages, and it was not easy to get Franco out of it, even though he was now a seventh-level knight.

With Franco's status, the knights and mages around him would not be low-level, and he was not sure that he could deal with so many opponents on his own.

But some people don't think so, Yaruno never takes them seriously, and he tells Kane to do it, even if it's okay to run in and catch Franco in front of everyone in broad daylight. Those seventh-level knights, mages or something will be dealt with by his strength, and if he is not at ease, he can also choose to do it at night.

Night is not only the hunter's best camouflage and protective color, but also a condition for Alinus' operations. He no longer has to appear as a Black Hawk, and his original appearance can exert his full strength. Franco's protectors are nothing more than a little man in his full form.

Kane chose the most conservative approach, waiting until the evening to act.

As night fell, Alinus reverted to his previous form, and Kane told him to infiltrate Franco's manor. Franco's manor was not hard to find, and Kane had already heard about it during the day, but he only knew its exact location, and did not really go in to see what it looked like. But it doesn't make a difference, Alinas will find Franco, he is absolutely confident.

He went to a forest next to the manor and found a location where he could observe the Golden Wolf Manor without being easily spotted by the lookout sentinels. Alinus flew towards the manor, and Kane reminded him that all he had to do was capture Franco and not cause unnecessary fights, as that would cause them trouble.

Arinus agreed, but he probably didn't quite understand the extent of what Kane said was about not bothering with the criteria. Aruno felt that he was overly cautious, that his worries and concerns were completely unnecessary. His advice to Kane was to just rush in and take the guy out, which was the best idea.

He kicked open the gate like a robber, and told the guards and knights, who did not know whether they were alive or dead, not to act rashly, and stood there obediently, watching how their master was carried away like a dog.

Kane wondered if this guy's brain had been locked up for too long and become stupid, wishing everyone knew that a thousand-year-old demon had escaped from the ban.

"Then am I going to help you tell the world that the thousand-year-old demon is back after I'm done, and tell your enemies to be careful?" Kane teased. "I've always called you a demon, that should be right, right? Is it a demon? I seem to have found a race of creatures other than demons who are enemies of the gods. ”

"It doesn't matter what it's called, it's a demon now, look at my ghost, it's even more evil than a demon. I don't care what my current identity is, as long as I can get revenge, I live for myself. The flames of vengeance burn down on the gods! Aruno said.

Kane knew that this guy had a lot of stories, but he never told him, and he couldn't ask, his mouth was the hardest, and thousands of years of captivity had not softened his mouth.
