Chapter 31: Arthur
"Where is he?"
A sudden voice from the side caught the attention of the two, and they turned their heads to look at Char, who was still sitting in their seat.
Moriah reacted and said happily, "Would you like to help with this?" β
As the supreme leader of this country, he still knows how to observe words and feelings, and he has found out since just now.
Compared to the Grim Reaper beside him, the one sitting in the chair was obviously of a higher status.
Although he didn't know who he was, what he knew was that if the being in front of him was willing to help, then several of his children might be saved.
"If you are willing to leave your son's fate to me." Char muttered softly, with an inexplicable meaning in her tone.
Moriah was clearly aware of this, and after a moment of silence, he said, "Whatever you want to do, please keep them alive, and I will give you the best I can give." β
Char smiled and said, "Your remuneration has already been paid." β
Moria, on the other hand, continued, "Under the bed where I slept, there is a secret compartment, and there is a chest in the dark compartment, so take that box with you.
There is a title deed inside, it is a small peninsula, and from now on, it will be yours.
And there's something in there...."
He was silent for a moment, then looked at Char Dao with longing eyes.
"It's not precious, please help me pass it on to Alicia.
Of course, if you don't want to, I won't have any objections, it's your will.
But if .... If you happen to meet her....."
His lips moved, as if he wanted to say something, but he didn't know how to speak because of some scruples, and he kept rubbing his fingers nervously.
"Don't be so nervous." Char raised his eyebrows and smiled, "Compared to the reward you gave, this is really a gesture." β
His son's affairs are good for both parties.
So for Char, he is equivalent to handing over a thing to get a peninsula, and the object of the transfer is in his own home.
A few years earlier, Char would have classified this as a telecom fraud when he heard about it.
Moriah breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that with the identity of the being in front of him, he disdained to deceive himself.
He bowed heavily to Char, his waist bent very low, almost ninety degrees.
Char didn't say anything, just silently raised the wine glass and took a sip.
Even for him, the other side may be a god-like existence.
But as the emperor of an empire, he has laid down all his dignity for the sake of his children ....
....
By the time Char walked out of the palace, the sky had completely darkened, there were no stars and moons in the night sky, the air was filled with rich water vapor, the dim fog was permeated, and the light of the street lamps was faintly seen swaying in the thick fog.
When he first came to the imperial capital, he found that the buildings here were high and dense, forming a kind of "canyon effect", and the dust and smoke were difficult to dissipate, so there was often a thick fog.
The industrial revolution has just begun, and industrial iteration takes time, so these things are inevitable for the environment.
In a few years' time, the city's fog problem will only get worse, and there will be more than just water vapor in the fog at that time.
Sebas took Moria with him into Hades, and according to him, he had to make some preparations.
His Book of the Dead can only show the recently deceased, as well as targeted information, so it is impossible to predict the future war.
However, the Book of the Dead in the hands of the true Grim Reaper is different, and the Grim Reaper also has a premonition of death, so he must have known something.
He didn't need to inform Hades, but in such a big event, Hades probably wouldn't take care of a little person like him, so he could only rely on himself.
After walking a few streets from the palace, Char came to a fenced house, which at first glance looked like a school, but it was smaller than a normal school.
The sign on the gate reads, "Blue Sky Welfare House".
Char walked straight in, the environment here is not bad, the area is very large, there are a lot of green plants, the air is also good, especially the interior decoration, it is also very exquisite. At least it was clean.
The royal family should have regular funding for the home.
Char walked through the corridor, in the dim corridor, only one room was lit, the room was very empty, there were many toys, and there were many children of different ages playing together.
There was a child sitting in the corner, playing with a puzzle by himself, and his orange-red bits of hair were very conspicuous.
The rest of the people around him had either blond or black hair, but he was the only one with orange-red hair.
That was the goal of his trip.
.....
"What's your name?"
The boy slowly raised his head at the sound.
I saw a strange adult man standing beside him at some point, looking down at him.
Those dark eyes were deep and quiet, and no one could discern any emotion in them.
He looked around, everyone was doing their own thing, even the employees of the welfare home who were present didn't seem to see this person, talking to their colleagues on their own.
"Who are you?" He said.
"You can call me, Char." Char said, "Your father, have entrusted your fate to me. β
"My father?" He shook his head and said, "I don't have a father. β
"Everybody has a father." Char said, "Anyone in this world has a place to come, but you, like the rest of the people around here, are not present in your life. β
The child looked up, dark green eyes shining with forest-like silence.
"He's still alive?"
"He died, just a few hours ago." Char Road.
The boy was speechless, his eyelids drooped, and he kept his head down and continued to play with the puzzle in silence.
"You're withdrawn." Char said, "I don't like to show my emotions, which is not a good thing for your age." β
He looked around, "That's why you don't have any friends here, right?" β
"I don't need friends." He bowed his head and said, "They're all too naΓ―ve. β
Char looked at him quietly and said in a low voice.
"You have a lot to learn."
After a pause, he said, "You still have three sisters, do you want to meet them?" β
Hearing this, he stopped what he was doing and slowly raised his head to look at Char.
"Do you believe me?" Char laughed.
"You're a good guy." "At least there was no ill will towards me, my instincts have always been accurate," he said. β
His expression was serious, and his dark green eyes gave people a piercing feeling.
Char didn't speak, his sister was naturally magical, although it was because of fate, but it was normal for this child who had a blood connection with her to have some special abilities.
He looked around.
"I guess I can see why you're not welcome here."
This child's ability should not be mind reading, but more sensitive to malice and kindness than ordinary people.
But obviously, it's easy to confuse with mind reading, and no one likes someone who can read minds around them.
"Looks like you don't have much nostalgia for this place." Char said, "It's good, it saves me a lot of trouble." β
He smiled gently, "Come with me, kid." β
He lowered his head and thought for a moment, silently put the last piece of the puzzle together, and then asked.
"Have you done all the formalities?"
"What formalities?"
He looked at Xia Yadao a little speechlessly, "Adoption procedures, how can you take me away without going through the formalities?" β
"I think if I take you away, they won't stop me." Char laughed.
As he spoke, Char shook his head in the direction of the door, motioning for him to follow him.
He got up with some suspicion and followed Char behind him.
As he said.
No one around them stayed in their eyes, and to the people around them, the two of them were like invisible people who didn't exist in this room.
Although he had long been accustomed to the feeling of being ignored, it was definitely not a normal situation.
He came back to his senses, looked at Char's back and couldn't help but say, "What did you do?" β
"You haven't answered my question yet."
Char asked as she turned her back to him and walked.
"What's your name?"
"Freddie (Friday)." He said.
"Friday?"
He nodded, "This is the day I came here, and that's what everyone calls me." β
"But it's not like a name." Char said, "I'll give you a new name." β
The kid didn't seem to like the name either, and asked, "What's the name?" β
Char thought for a moment, then he tapped his index finger in the void.
"There it is."
He turned to look at the boy behind him, the corners of his mouth hooked up an imperceptible arc, the glimmer of light in his eyes, and slowly spoke.
"From now on, your name will be ....
Arthur. β
