Chapter Thirty-Six: You're going to make a difference.
"Alicia! It's raining, come back! β
Arthur stood in the doorway and shouted at Alicia, but she didn't respond.
He was a little anxious to find an umbrella on the first floor, and ran out with the umbrella, but before he could reach Alicia, Alicia shook and fell to the side.
"Alicia!" Arthur shouted anxiously.
But before she could fall to the ground, she was caught, and Char appeared beside her at some point.
Arthur also happened to run over, and he tried to raise the black umbrella in his hand to cover the two of them under the umbrella, but he was drenched in heavy rain.
Char looked at Alicia in her arms, raised her hand and touched Alicia's forehead with the back of her hand, her forehead was hot, her face was visibly red, and her breathing was weak and short.
......
Alicia was sick, and very sick.
The high fever did not go away, Char estimated that it was about thirty-nine to forty degrees, and even her consciousness was a little blurred, Arthur was talking to her on the side, and she could only give a few vague responses.
Alicia was carried back to her bed by Char and used her magic to take away the moisture from her.
Arthur was standing beside the bed, with a basin of warm water about thirty degrees beside him, and he reached out and took out the towel from the basin and wrung it out, and then placed it on Alicia's forehead.
Then he looked at Char worriedly.
"Char, is she going to die?"
"Nonsense." Cassifer said amusedly, "Are there any people who won't die?" β
Char was sitting in front of Cassifer and roasting the fire, he silently took out a piece of wood from the basket on one side and put it on Cassifer's mouth, then put the kettle that had just been filled with water on the fire, and then replied.
"Why do you ask?"
"I'm a little scared." Arthur said uneasily, "Grandma Dean is the same, and then left in a few days. β
Char nodded, and continued, "Don't worry, I may not know about others, but she should live a long time." β
"Indeed." Cassifer stretched out a pair of small flaming hands, crossed them over his chest, and nodded.
Although she is over 90 years old, she has experienced the death of her relatives, and she is drenched under the snowy mountains for two or three degrees, and now she has a fever to the point of confusion and has not retreated.
But it should be fine. β
Arthur's eyes turned red immediately.
Char glanced at Cassifer.
Cassifer shrank back and hid his mouth in the pyre, revealing only those sly eyes.
Char smiled helplessly, "Children under the age of ten can't understand your sense of humor. β
"He looked pretty smart when he first arrived." Cassifer said.
Arthur reacted, then turned red and shouted angrily, "Cassifer! Alicia is like this, you're still kidding! β
Cassifer crackled and shrank into the pyre.
Char slowly got up and picked up the coat hanging on the hanger on one side, "When Alicia wakes up, remember to give her some warm water." β
"Where are you going?" Arthur asked, "Go get a doctor?" β
Char reminisced about going to the hospital with Sebas.....
"I don't have to ask for a doctor." Char said, "I'm going to buy something." β
With that, he walked down the small stairs, turned the dial yellow, and walked out.
The streets of the imperial capital are still quiet, but it hasn't rained today.
The flickering kerosene lamps reflected the mansions on both sides, and Char's façade in the imperial capital was a little shabby compared to these buildings, but he didn't care.
Gentlemen in tuxedos and gorgeously dressed women can be seen walking on the streets, which is much more lively than before.
Although there has been some unevenness recently, the imperial capital still shows its prosperity as the capital of a country.
But the difference is that Char saw some strange soldiers walking around the street, they were carrying guns and their gait was neat, as if they were patrolling.
The change of power is inherently unstable, especially in Britannia, which is still in the feudal era.
Char was not surprised by this, he ignored the soldiers, and walked slowly through the streets, coming to the restaurant where he had eaten with Sebas before.
At this moment, the tables and chairs placed outside had been put away, and a carriage was parked at the door of the restaurant, and the carriage was already filled with various things, piled up two or three meters high.
And the restaurateur, Hart, was still piling things on top of it.
He soon noticed Char's arrival, stopped the movement, and said hello.
"Sir."
Char would occasionally come here for breakfast once or twice these days, and after chatting, Hart also learned that this mysterious young man lived nearby.
Char looked at the mountain of wagons, and then at the storefront.
"Aren't you going to drive it?"
Hart sighed, "Do you know about the recent events in the imperial capital?" β
Char nodded.
"Prince Victor also returned from the Southern Front the other day." Hart said, "That's His Majesty Moria's half-brother. β
After a pause, he continued, "That's not a simple person, and in the coming days, the emperor won't be calm anymore. β
"You're a smart man." Char said.
Hart smiled, "Anyway, I've been here for many years. β
Then he asked, "Do you need anything?" β
"I'd like to buy some ginger and brown sugar." Char said, "Do you have anything here?" β
Hart recalled, "I remember last Christmas when I made gingerbread and there were some left.... Wait, I'll find out. β
With that, he walked back to his store, and after about a few minutes, he walked out with two small bags and handed them to Char.
"That's all there is left, I don't know if it's enough."
Char opened the bag and looked at it, "That's enough." β
After a pause, he asked curiously, "Where are you going?" β
Hart thought for a moment, "First go back to my hometown, Sasili, in the south of the empire, my niece will be married soon, and I am going to the wedding. β
"Or do you still open a restaurant?" Char asked.
Hart smiled helplessly, "Everyone in Sahili can barbecue meat and sausages, and you can see a store like me every fifty meters.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have left my hometown to open a store in the imperial capital. β
"Sounds like a good place." Char said.
"Of course!"
Speaking of his hometown, Hart became very enthusiastic.
"It's a place you won't regret going, with plains as far as the eye can see, towering snow-capped mountains, and especially the fjords, small places that can dock huge ships.
And the beef there, the best in Britannia! Even the palace and the nobles will go there to buy it.
The people there are also very simple, kind, and never conflicted. β
"I've really wanted to move lately." Char said, "You don't sound good there." β
Hart seemed pleased, "You are always welcome in Sasili. β
Char also smiled, he lifted the two bags in his hand, "How much are these two bags?" β
"No, no, no." Hart hurriedly waved his hand and said, "It's just some seasoning." β
After a pause, he thought for a moment and smiled.
"If you have to pay anything, then bless me to make a difference in my hometown."
Char didn't reply, and Hart raised his eyes to meet his eyes with some confusion.
There was a night-like stillness and serenity in his dark eyes, and no one could see his emotions in these eyes.
After a moment, his eyebrows moved down, the corners of his mouth rose slightly, and a light smile appeared as he spoke.
"You're going to make a difference."
His voice was magnetic, calm, with an unmistakable affirmation.
For some reason, Hart had a very strange feeling in his heart.
If you say, before, he was standing at the crossroads of fate, surrounded by a fog that is difficult to see with the naked eye, and he didn't know the direction of life.
But the moment the words of the person in front of him fell.
The fog was torn apart, and his fate, beyond that crossroads, appeared a broad road that did not know the direction, but was incomparably straight.
Yes, that's how he feels at the moment, extremely strongly.
He came back to his senses, his throat moved, and he wanted to say something, but a thousand words turned into only two words.
"Thank you."
