Chapter 184: Departure
Mr. Weasley pushed Harry's luggage cart towards the railing separating platforms 9 and 10, seemingly interested in the Intercity 125 that had just arrived at platform 9. He gave Harry a meaningful look, leaning casually against the railing. Harry followed his example.
In a moment they fell from the side through the railing to the platform of the Nine and Four March. They looked up to see the express train to Hogwarts, the scarlet steam locomotive spitting smoke above the platform, which was full of witches and witches sending their children on the train.
Harry and Mr. Weasley led the way, followed by the others, to the end of the train, past the full carriages, to a carriage that looked empty. They put all the boxes on them, and put Hedwig and Crookhill on the luggage rack. Then he got off the train and said goodbye to the Weasleys.
Mrs. Weasley kissed each of her children goodbye, then Hermione, Charon, and finally Harry. She hugged Harry in particular.
"Be careful, Harry." She said as she straightened up, her eyes strangely bright. Then she opened her huge tote bag and said, "I made you all sandwiches." It's yours, Ron, no, it's not beef, Fred? Where's Fred? Here it is, dear! â
"Harry," Mr. Weasley said quietly, "come here. â
He threw his head over a pillar, and Harry followed him behind it, leaving the others around Mrs. Weasley.
"Before you leave, there's something I have to tell you??" Mr. Weasley said nervously.
"All right, Mr. Weasley," said Harry, "I already know. â
"You got it? How would you know? â
"Charon told me a long time ago, and I heard you and Mrs. Weasley talking last night. I couldn't help but listen," Harry quickly added, "I'm sorry! â
"Harry, you must be scared to death?"
"No," Harry said sincerely, "really. He added, for Mr. Weasley didn't seem to believe it.
"I'm not trying to be a hero, but seriously, Sirius Black isn't going to be more vicious than Voldemort, is it?" Mr. Weasley winced at the name, but then overcame it.
"Harry, I know you're, well, stronger than Fudge thought, you're not afraid, I'm glad you're not scared, but ......"
"Arthur," called Mrs. Weasley, who was now taking care of the men on the train, "Arthur, what are you doing?" Time to go! â
"He's coming, Molly!" Mr. Weasley said. But he turned to Harry again, and whispered in an even more hurried voice, "Listen, I want you to promise!" â
"I promise to be obedient and stay in the castle all the time!" Harry said gloomily.
"Not exactly." Mr. Weasley said, looking more serious than any time Harry had ever seen him, "Harry, swear to me you won't go to Black. Harry glared, "What? â
A very loud whistle blows. The railroad crew walked along the train and closed all the doors. "Promise me, Harry," Mr. Weasley said, speaking faster, "whatever happens??"
"Why did I go to someone I knew was going to kill me?" Harry asked, blankly.
"Swear to me, no matter what you might hear......"
"Arthur, quick!" Mrs. Weasley exclaimed.
The train spewed steam and began to move. Harry ran to the door of the car, and Charon reached out and pulled Harry into the car. They leaned out the window and waved to the Weasleys until the train turned a corner and they were out of sight.
"I need to talk to you privately." Harry muttered to Ron and Hermione, and Charon shook his head and nodded, noncommittal to Harry's approach, as the train sped off.
The four of them finally found an empty car at the end of the train, and there was only one person in it, who was sitting by the window, sleeping. Harry, Charon, Ron, and Hermione stopped on the threshold. The Hogwarts Express is usually for students, who have never seen an adult here, except for the witch who pushed the food cart for them.
The stranger was wearing an extremely worn wizard's robe, patched in several places. He looked sick and exhausted. He still looks young, but his pale brown hair is already mixed with spontaneity.
"Who do you think he is?" Ron asked in a low voice. They sat down, closed the door, and sat as far away from the window as possible.
âRīŧ Professor J. Lupin. Hermione immediately whispered.
"How do you know?"
"Didn't he say it on his box?" Hermione replied, pointing to the luggage rack on the man's head, where there was a small, worn-out box, tied with many ropes and neatly knotted.
âRīŧ Professor J. Lupin: "The words are printed in the corner of the box, and the letters have peeled off.
"I don't know what he teaches?" Ron said, frowning at the lifeless silhouette taught by Lupin.
"Isn't that nonsense?" Charon said angrily, "There's only one empty seat, isn't it?" 'Defence Against the Dark Arts'! â
There have already been two teachers who have taught this course, both of whom have only been teaching for a year. There are rumors that the job is doomed.
"Well, I hope he's up to the task." Ron said suspiciously, "It's like a spell would have killed him, doesn't he look like that, anyway," he turned to Harry, "What are you going to tell us?" â
Harry told them about the Shusleys' arguments, the warnings Mr. Weasley had just given him, and so on. As he finished, Ron felt like he had been struck by lightning, and Hermione covered her mouth with her hands. Only Charon yawned indifferently, he already knew.
Hermione put down her hand and screwed Charon hard, "You guy, why didn't you tell us when you knew about it?" â
Charon was aggrieved: "Please, you weren't in England at the time, and this is Harry's business, he has to call the shots!" â
Hermione ignored Charon and turned to Harry with concern, "Sirius Black escaped to chase you?" Oh, Harry, you have to be careful, very careful. Don't ask for trouble, Harry. â
"I'm not asking for trouble," Harry said angrily, "and it's usually always the trouble that comes to me. â
"I think Hermione's concern is justified," Charon came to help, "and in fact you're always making trouble for yourself, like blowing your aunt into a balloon or something!" Ha ha! â
Ron and Hermione couldn't understand how Charon could still joke!
"Are you crazy? This is serious business! Hermione stomped her foot and said angrily, "Harry's life is at stake!" â
"Worry and fear won't solve anything!" Charon looked indifferent and said, "And I've been protecting Harry for more than half a month while you're wandering abroad!" That Sirius Black isn't necessarily my match, and if he shows up, I'll catch him!" â
Charon felt that Ron and Hermione seemed to have a much more serious opinion on the matter than expected, and were even more afraid of Blake than Harry, so he simply said something to set the mood.
"Please," Charon couldn't help but disdain when he saw that the two cowards were still panicked, "Can you two have a little bit of success, you see that Harry and I are not afraid, Harry is just worried that he can't go to Hogsmeade!" â
"Do you know Hogsmeade well?" Hermione ignored Charon and turned to Ron. "I read in books that this is the only place in England where there are no Muggles."
"yes, I think so," Ron said nonchalantly, "but that's not why I want to go." I just want to go to Duke Honey. â
"What's that?" Hermione asked.
"It's a candy store," Ron said, a dreamy look on his face. "There's everything, Pepper Boy, it smokes in its mouth, and oily chocolate balls, full of strawberry custard and general custard, and really wonderful quill pens made of sugar, which you can suck in in class, and it looks like you're thinking about what to write next......"
"Cut," Charon said disdainfully, "I don't think Mrs. Weasley signed the letter of permission for you to feast on, can you have some fun?" â
"But Hogsmeade is a fun place, isn't it?" Hermione still ignored Charon, she only spoke to Ron. "The book says that the inn was the headquarters of the monster rebellion of 1612, and that the Screaming Shack was probably the most ghostly house in all of England."
"The huge ice cream ball makes you float several inches off the ground as you suck it." Ron, he must not have listened to a word of what Hermione said.
Hermione had to look at Harry. "How nice it would be to get away from school for a short time and explore Hogsmeade, isn't it?"
"I think so. When you feel this way, you must tell me. Harry said sullenly that he had been in a hurry the last time he went to Hogsmeade Village, and he hadn't visited anywhere he should be!
"Or we can ask Fred and George, they know every secret way out of the castle......" Ron rolled his eyes and came up with a bad idea.
"Ron!" Hermione said sharply, "I don't think Harry should have sneaked out of the school with Blake being accumulated......".
"yes, I expect Professor McGonagall to say that when I ask for approval." Harry said bitterly, though he knew about the secret passage that led to the basement of the candy store, he didn't know if he should use it.
"But if we, especially Charon, are with him." Ron said to Hermione angrily, "Blake won't dare ......"
