Chapter 202: Hogsmeade Village
There was a knock on the door, and Harry's words were interrupted.
"Come in." Lupin exclaimed.
The door opened, and Snape walked in. He had a goblet in his hand, steaming slightly, and when he saw Harry, he stopped, his dark eyes narrowed.
"Ah, Severus," said Lupin, smiling, "thank you. Is it OK to put it on your desk? Snape put the steaming cup down, his gaze moving back and forth between Harry and Lupin.
"I'm asking Harry to see my Grindy Low." Lupin said happily, pointing to the tank.
"Fascinating." Snape said, but didn't look there, "You should drink it, Lupin." ”
"Yes, yes, I'll drink it." Lupin said.
"I've made a full pot," said Snape, "if you still want it." ”
"I'm probably going to have a little more tomorrow. Thanks, Severus. ”
"You're welcome." Snape said, but there was a look in his eyes that Harry didn't like to see. When Snape exited the room, he didn't smile and looked wary. Harry looked at the goblet curiously. Lupin smiled.
"Professor Snape was kind enough to concoct a potion for me," he said, "and I've never been very good at mixing potions, and this one is very complicated. He picked up the goblet and sniffed it. It's a pity that you can't put sugar. He added, took a sip, and shivered.
"Why?" Harry asked. Lupin looked at him and answered the unfinished question.
"I've always felt bad," he said, "and only this medication works." I was fortunate enough to work with Professor Snape; There are not many wizards who can concoct this potion. Professor Lupin took another sip, and Harry was eager to snatch the goblet from his hand.
"Professor Snape is interested in the dark arts." He blurted out.
"Really?" Lupin said, not as if he was not interested in the remark, and then took another big sip.
"Someone thinks," Harry hesitated, then said desperately, "someone thinks that he desperately wants to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts and will do whatever it takes to get the position." Lupin drank the medicine dry in one gulp and grimaced.
"It's unpleasant." He said, "All right, Harry. I'd better go back to work. See you at dinner. ”
"Okay." Harry said, putting his empty teacup down.
Saying goodbye to Professor Lupin, Harry hurried back to his dorm room, grabbed the Cloak of Invisibility, and then carefully dodged the guards and the pesky cat, and finally made his way down the secret passage.
On the other hand, the classmates were all sympathetic to Harry, who looked a little lonely and a little pitiful. But Hogsmeade soon arrived, and the lively and jubilant atmosphere there was a great deal of immersion.
They wandered to Duke Honey's candy store, which was packed with Hogwarts students. The store has a fork of shelf and a shelf filled with the most intriguing sweets imaginable. Chunks of creamy peanut candy, shimmering pieces of pink coconut sorbet, hundreds of chocolates of all kinds neatly arranged, a large vat of flavored beans, a bucket of butter butterball, the sherbet drink that Ron mentioned floating in the air, and along another wall are a variety of candies with "special effects": Blowing Treasure Super Bubble Gum (which fills the room with blue bellflower-colored bubbles that won't burst for days), bizarre fragmented hairy mints, and tiny little black pepper urchins (" Spit fire from the inside of your nose for your friends! ), Ice Mouse ("Hear your teeth chattering and creaking!") ), a creamy mint shaped like a toad ("It's really going to beat in the stomach!"). ), crunchy sugar quill pens and exploding sandwiches.
Ron and Hermione were standing beneath the sign, poring over a plate of bloody lollipops as they helped Harry pick out a present. Charon was looking around, and suddenly he saw a sneaky figure, it was Harry Potter! He's sneaking up on them.
"Harry," Charon said with a laugh, "why are you so late?" ”
"Oh, I met Professor Lupin, and he pulled me along for a long time." Harry said with some smugness.
"Wow! How did you get here? Ron was both surprised and adored, "Have you learned to be invisible!" ”
"Of course I didn't." Harry said. He lowered his voice so that the sixth-graders would hear it, and told everyone what had happened.
The one that led to Duke Honey's cellar had been walked by Harry several times. The entrance was right under the hunchback of the one-eyed old woman. Harry used this map to get to Hogsmeade.
After hearing this, Hermione was visibly angry!
"You just wanted to play, and you didn't think about Blake?" Hermione gritted her teeth and said, "He can use the passage to enter the castle, the teachers must know!" ”
"There's no way he's coming in through the passage," Harry said quickly, "the one I just walked through, well, it's really hard to see where the entrance is in the cellar, so unless he knows there's a secret passage......"
Ron cleared his throat in all seriousness and pointed to a notice posted inside the candy store's door.
“
Patrons are ordered by the Ministry of Magic to be aware that until further notice, Dementors will patrol the streets of Hogsmeade every day after sunset. This was done purely for the safety of the inhabitants of Hogsmeade, and was canceled once Sirius Black was recaptured. Customers are encouraged to complete their purchases before the evening.
Merry Christmas
”
"See?" Ron said calmly, "There are Dementors everywhere, and I'd like to see how Blake can break into a candy store under such circumstances." Anyway, Hermione, the candy store owner always hears someone break in, right? They live upstairs from the candy store! ”
"Yes, but, though......," Hermione seemed to pick and choose from somewhere, "Look, Harry shouldn't have come to Hogsmeade, he didn't hand in the signed application form, Harry would be in big trouble if anyone found out Harry was here, and it's still light, what if Sirius Black showed up today, now?" ”
"It won't be easy for him to find out that Harry is here." Ron said, nodding through the mullioned window to the snow outside.
"Come on, Hermione, it's Halloween, and Harry should relax." Charon listened to their quarrel for a long time, and couldn't help but stop him, "With me, Harry will be safe, you can rest assured." ”
"But—" Hermione paused.
"Are you going to denounce me?" Harry asked her with a grin.
"Oh, of course not, but honestly, Harry......"
"See that bee candy, Harry?" Ron said, grabbing Harry and leading him to the vat. "And that jelly slug, and that sour lollipop, Fred gave me one when I was seven years old, and it burned a hole in my tongue. I remember my mom punching Fred with a broomstick. Ron looked contemplatively at the cardboard box with the sour lollipops. If I told Fred that it was a peanut, would he have taken a bite of the cockroach gnocchi? ”
Ron and Hermione paid for their candy, and the four of them left the candy store and walked outside into the snowstorm. They went everywhere. Devis and Bans, the Magic Equipment Shop, Jokowi's Joke Shop, and the Three Broomsticks that serve the frothy butterbeer, among many other places.
In the twilight, everyone came back before the Halloween dinner. Charon, Ron, Hermione, and Harry had a good time, and brought back a large pile of candy that fell on the table like a torrential rain.
While he was happy, Harry remembered what had happened to Professor Lupin and casually told everyone.
"No," said Harry, "Lupin made me a cup of tea in his office. Then Snape came in......"
He told them all about the goblet. Ron's mouth opened wide.
"Did Lupin drink?" He gasped, "He's crazy? ”
"Why can't Lupin drink it?" Charon disagreed, retorting, "Professor Snape's prowess in potions is well known, could it be that you would think he poisoned it?" Even if this were a possibility, would Professor Lupin not have imagined it? ”
Ron was about to speak, he probably really thought that Professor Snape could do such a thing.
Hermione rounded, and she looked at her watch.
"Let's go downstairs, you know, in five minutes, the dinner will begin."
They hurried through the hole in the portrait and joined the crowd, talking about Snape all the way.
"Charon is right, you know," Hermione lowered her voice, "if he was trying to poison Lupin, he wouldn't have done it in front of Harry. ”
"Yes, you're worrying about it in vain." Harry said that by this time they had made their way to the antechamber and were making their way into the Great Hall. The auditorium was hung with hundreds of jack-o-lanterns, a swarm of winged bats, and many flaming orange streamers that floated lazily beneath the ceiling like brilliant water snakes.
The food is exquisite; Even people like Harry and Ron, who ate Duke Honey's candy to the point of bursting their stomachs, demanded a second portion of each food, which made Charon have to speak out to dissuade him. Faculty member, Professor Lupin, seemed happy and as normal as usual; He was having an active conversation with the little Charms teacher, Professor Flitwick. The dinner ended with a cultural program provided by the ghosts of Hogwarts. Ghosts emerge from walls and tables in a kind of procession; The almost headless Nick of Gryffindor House has managed to recreate the situation when he was beheaded.
It was a great evening and everyone was in a good mood.
At the end of the dinner, the four of them followed the rest of Gryffindor along the usual route to the Gryffindor Tower. But when they got to the portrait of the fat lady, they found that there were many people crowded in the corridor.
