Chapter 5 Accidents

Esther muttered in her heart, and began to think back to the strangeness of the incident just now, and what puzzled her the most was "her own reaction". Normal people should panic when they see blood, and even people who don't faint should feel frightened when they see that kind of scene at first glance.

Esther recalled that her heart was racing in that moment, more from the loud thud of the knife being thrown than from the man's hand being cut off. Her emotions were too calm in the face of that scene, as if she had indifferently seen this incident and watched it happen before that sentence came out, which really did not look like a normal person.

Okay, maybe I'm a little bit out of the ordinary, but that's about it.

Then Esther put the matter behind her.

But just because she doesn't want to get involved doesn't mean things won't come to her by themselves.

Esther was carrying a bag of snake fruit and oranges, which she had bought with her own money from the familiar fruit stall owner, perhaps because it was the first bite of the food, Esther liked the taste of snake fruit, and oranges were the ingredients she was considering to use to research new baked goods, because she was embarrassed to ask Wendy to pay for them, Asther stopped by and bought some herself.

She was blocked in the alley by a few people, and Esther chose this because it was a shortcut, and now it seemed that she was not the only one who preferred it.

The man at the head had a scruffy beard and a short knife at the wrist of his right hand, which matched his fierce momentum.

"See you again." The man smiled fiercely, as if he had planned what he was going to do to Esther.

Esther's gaze swept over the men one by one, pausing briefly on the handsome, round-faced man in the back row, and finally returning to the man in the lead: "You will die of unexpected betrayal." โ€

The man's expression suddenly looked ugly, he obviously remembered the strangeness of the last broken hand, and immediately beckoned people to rush up, wanting to kidnap this stupid girl and toss him to death first.

Esther didn't ignore the little bug's instructions this time, and Esther knew that this was not a scene that she could solve alone, so she decided to follow the instructions, raising her hand and spreading her fingers to the person opposite and behind her.

Snake fruit and oranges roll to the ground.

But she changed what the little bugs told her again: "You're going to steal their lives."

"I'm going to steal this fate that you have crossed paths with me."

The phrase wasn't uttered in Rune, Esther didn't know what it was, she just spit it out with her instincts, her instinct giving feedback one step ahead of her thoughts.

Then Esther folded her hands.

In an instant, Esther's hair faded to a silvery white, and tiny star-like dots of light rose from her head, waving in bursts of light that blurred her vision. Esther's black pupils spread outwards until they filled her pale gray eyes, from which a little chaotic distorted light lit up, and a violent light burst out of her, filling the alley.

Esther ran out of the alley in a panic, and the men all froze in place, their eyes a strange blank in their eyes. The round-faced man in the back row was the first to come back to his senses, he looked around, bent down and picked up a snake fruit on the ground, feeling as if he had forgotten something, but he couldn't remember it, which made him full of vigilance, wondering if there was a higher order of extraordinary beings who had just passed.

The man with the broken wrist kicked an orange into the air, and the orange fell on the dirty brick wall, and the juice flowed to the ground.

"**, why do you feel so annoying...... Let's find a place to drink! โ€

They left dejectedly, and everyone was not in good spirits, but the round-faced man looked at the alley again before leaving, and he felt a subtle uneasiness, but it did not evoke any memory.

Esther's heart was beating so fast that her head was almost exploding, and she could only run forward on instinct, even if she hit someone.

The pain was accompanied by the collapse of the memory to form a hollow, constantly absorbing any thoughts born of Esther, draining almost all her emotions and thoughts, Asther couldn't hear any instructions from the little bug, only the louder and louder ringing in her ears, and the constant chaotic pain, which made Esther feel more and more uncontrollable, the pain cheered in every cell, she wanted to scream, she wanted to tear all the light in her body, throw it all out-

[Esther.]

Someone was shouting her name. But it wasn't in Rune.

It seems to be ......

Esther's eyes suddenly focused, and she slumped on the edge of a few crates, trying to catch her breath, the cold air relieved the burning pain in her chest a little.

"Are you okay?"

A soft voice rang out, and Esther looked up to see that she was talking to a beautiful woman with young makeup but an old look, her blue eyeshadow and blush were rather strange, her black hair was tied in an equally old-fashioned bun, and her black robe was well-cut but a little eerie.

The woman was holding out a hand to Esther, and Esther barely stood up with her strength, only to find that in a panic, she had run back to the door of the bar where she woke up, the "Condor Bar" number was still half hung on it, but the bar door had been cordoned off, and nearby residents were not allowed to enter.

But this woman seems to have just come out of it?

"Thank you, I might...... I'll be fine with a moment's notice. Esther moved her palms, not daring to recall the power she had induced before, and the voice that suddenly came to mind was strange.

The woman noticed Esther's look at the bar, "Do you have any special impressions of this place?" โ€

That's where I woke upโ€”of course Esther didn't dare to say that, she didn't know the identity of this woman, especially her strange dress, which made Esther dare not put her guard away for a while: "It seems that this place has been abandoned for a while." โ€

"Yes, but I've heard that there is a wonderful light here, probably just over half a month ago."

Esther's heart skipped a beat, and that was the approximate time she had come into the world.

Light? Of course, Esther thought of her own outrageous behavior in the alley just now, was it the power of that little bug? No, that's not right...... Esther couldn't speak, and her mind began to get confused until she realized she was still being watched.

The woman had been staring at Esther thoughtfully, and did not open her mouth to disturb the girl with mixed emotions on her face.

"Sorry...... I do not know. Esther's words were so dry that she didn't believe them herself.

Incredibly, the woman just smiled and patted Esther's head, which was significantly shorter than her, and her actions gave Esther a strange sense of comfort, and her chilling body quickly warmed up.

Perhaps Esther's expression looked too dumb at this time, and the woman was not very reassuring about her: "You look frightened, little one." It's really not safe for you to walk around here alone at this point, do you need my help to take you home? โ€

"Thank you, no need, I still know the road to Sling's bakery here, it shouldn't be fine."

"Well, be careful."

Esther nodded repeatedly, and she glanced at the woman again before turning to leave.

Dalie Simone frowned at the sign of "Vulture Bar", the aether on the girl's body showed that her mood was fluctuating violently, but she quickly improved after coming into contact with her. The strangest thing is that when this girl approached, the spirits in the vicinity quickly dissipated, and the spirits that Dai Li was trying to communicate with seemed to be greatly frightened, and they were out of her sensing range in an instant, and they didn't know where to go.

A month ago, the owner of the "Condor Bar" suddenly disappeared, which was supposed to be a disappearance case that the local police could have hastily closed, and no one would have bothered to check the alcohol or furniture that had been removed, but one night when the former bartender was seen returning to the bar, the clocks of several families on this street exploded, and the time of stay was 3:17 in the morning.

This is obviously a trace of extraordinary power involvement, but Old Neil's divination has no result, so Dai Li once took Luo Yao to this neighborhood to ask about the nature spirit that can communicate, but unfortunately there is no trace of the intersection tracked, even if someone else comes to the scene to check, he does not notice the abnormality.

Because there is no follow-up change in things, the energy of the night watchman cannot be placed here for a long time, so in the end, the captain can only put this incident on hold, and today Dai Li also went to the cemetery on a whim before digging the grave, so she walked here twice, but she didn't expect to meet such a strange girl.

Dai Li was still on her vision when she met the girl, and noticed that the girl was very wrong, the etheric body on her surface was a little too bright, so that people could not see the star spirit body inside her, and only faintly revealed the rainbow-like intersecting color blocks in it, which was difficult to distinguish.

Could it be that the girl is a hidden wild extraordinary?

Dai Li made a note of the shop at Sling's Bakery, and as long as she went there later, she would know if there was anything wrong with the girl. If the girl doesn't leave, then you can take the opportunity to contact and observe. If she leaves, Dai Li can ask the police station to help investigate her origin and clues according to her appearance, and even directly issue a wanted warrant.

In particular, Dalie's spiritual instincts told her that the girl must have something to do with the strange things at the "Condor Bar".

โ€”โ€”

When Esther returned to Sling's bakery, she didn't tell Wendy and Fiona anything about what happened tonight, but lied that she had gone out for a walk, and was almost bitten by a wild dog from someone else, and ran all the way around and only came back.

Wendy comforted Esther a few words and told her to go to rest earlier.

Esther didn't bother to research any new bread or pastry, so she went back to her little attic after a brief care.

At the edge of the window, which was not wide, was stacked with a mass of handkerchiefs, which were crushed and dented in the middle, and piled up into a very simple nest. Esther took the little bug out of her pocket, placed it in the nest, and stared at it with a complicated look.

"What the hell is that power?"

"I don't guess, I don't need to guess. The power of stealing comes from you, but that light comes from me, and I can be sure of that. โ€

"It's not ridiculous self-confidence, the world's superpowers hide huge secrets, I mean extraordinary power. It can't come out of nowhere, I know that. โ€

"You're right, I can't prove if these perceptions are my imagination. I should find someone with similar powers as me. โ€

โ€œโ€ฆโ€ฆ I feel like you're playing with me. Why are you talking back now? Isn't that what I just meant? โ€

"What do you call that? Thieves? It doesn't sound like a good person. Is that what you call this extraordinary power? โ€

Asther felt the disdain coming from the little bug, and couldn't help but sigh: "I really don't like this ability, people who steal everything, one day they will find that nothing belongs to them." โ€

So her bug mentor lost his temper, and pretended to hibernate in a circle, refusing to talk to Esther again, ending this extremely rare conversation between the two.

It was the first time that Esther had communicated so much with this little bug, and it had been more bored and disdainful of Esther before, and it seemed that it was surprised by Esther's ability to communicate with Esther, and showed a certain extraordinary knowledge. But the little bug's character in the conversation is very poor, and there is a mischief in the words inside and outside, which makes Esther have a headache, and I don't know if I can believe it.

It's not a bad thing, then take it as a good thing, Esther is actually very happy, because this little bug is the first person she communicates with after she becomes conscious, and now she can learn more about it, which makes Esther feel inexplicably accomplished.

But it wasn't until she lay under the covers that Esther realized that the little bug hadn't explained what the power was hidden in her, and the conversation was passed on.

The next morning, Esther was busy with Fiona in the back kitchen, and after she had just finished kneading a new batch of cute animal-shaped breadcrumbs, Wendy suddenly came in and called Esther out.

Esther wiped her hands briefly, hurried to the shop, and met someone who surprised her.

"You're the one you were yesterday, ah, the lady, good morning." Esther realized that she didn't know the other person's name.

"Hello Dalie Simone, little one." This lady is wearing a black veil today and a black robe similar to yesterday's, and with her dress, even if she shows up at the cemetery at any time to attend the funeral, there is no sense of disobedience.

It can be a little scary in the middle of the night.

"Hello! Just call me Esther," Esther habitually smiled, "Miss Simone, do you want to buy something?" โ€

Dai Li looked at the cute cat black bread and rabbit white bread in the window with interest: "You can call me Dai Li, the courtesy is still exchanged." Is this a specialty of your store? It's cute. โ€

Wendy patted Esther on the shoulder very proudly: "It was designed by the 'little guy', it's amazing, right?" She learns everything very quickly and is a very smart child. โ€

Esther's face flushed, and her smile was much more sincere, "Don't be so exaggerated, Grandma Wendy. โ€

"Ever thought about putting this design out there? If this dessert appeared at the tea party of the ladies and ladies, it would definitely be very popular. โ€

Wendy was a little confused: "Oh, we're not so sure...... We may not be able to do that much business. โ€

Esther: "I just want to help Grandma Wendy, I probably don't have the heart to become a private chef, I still have a lot to learn." โ€

Dai Li didn't insist: "That's not bad, I'll come here more in the future, it would be better if there were cakes in the future." โ€

"Of course! I'll be sure to figure out how to bake cakes with Grandma Wendy and Fiona! โ€

"Then let me weigh a piece of black cat bread, two pieces of white rabbit bread, and this Tingen cake I heard is a specialty of the store?"

Under Wendy's gaze, Esther immediately grabbed the things that Dalie wanted to buy and put them in the paper bag for packing: "Okay, I'll put it on you!" Is it OK to use a paper bag from the store? โ€

Dali nodded, and quickly left the Sling bakery after paying.

Esther returned to the back kitchen, feeling particularly good at being complimented by Daly, and she unconsciously hummed tunes that Fiona had never heard before.

Life always looks like it's getting better, doesn't it?
