Chapter 36: The Sowing of Light
Esther walked around the market until she found Ademisore in a more secluded corner, where the young man snuggled up behind a pile of empty barrels, huddled into a small ball, like a snail shrunk into a shell. When he heard Esther's voice, he jerked his head up, revealing a face full of tears and fear.
There was a moment of joy in Ademisor's eyes, but he looked at Esther even more in horror, and stammered: "Death, a lot of death, corpses!" In the air! Light, no! Disappear, no, no! I beg you ......"
Esther knelt beside him and grabbed Ademisor's hand, her move gradually focused his scattered eyes, his breathing calming down, but the tears on his face grew.
Ademisor grabbed Esther's hand tightly and pulled her palm in front of his eyes, so that Esther's palm was pressed against his forehead, and his mouth was still uttering broken and fearful whispers: "Light, light of hope, please!" Flee, destroy me, stay away from suffering, flee from here......"
Esther's hand could feel Ademisor's hot forehead, and she looked around to see that no one was paying attention, and asked in a low voice, "Tell me, what did you see?" It's okay, calm down and let me listen to you. β
"Ademisor, you have to remember that fate is eternal chaos and everything can be changed."
Esther leaned down, plucked a hair of her own, curled it around her fingers, and a faint glow of the star floated from her hair, fluttering along Esther's palm, and into Ademisor's forehead.
The hair faded and turned silvery.
Ademisol let out a muffled snort, and when Esther raised her hand again, his half-closed eyes revealed a strange change of darkness and light, but the horror on Ademisole's face dissipated, and his expression was very serene, with a half-asleep confusion.
He let go of Esther's hand, his lips trembling unvoluntarily, and the fever was rapidly subsiding. Ademisor was still looking in Esther's direction, and Esther was watching his condition with trepidation, unsure if such a move would directly destroy Ademisor's spirit.
Her spiritual instincts told her that it was "desirable", but Esther didn't understand why she was doing it, the little light was familiar, like the one she had seen in the hands of the goddess, only fainter.
Esther suddenly realized this ability more than half a month agoβjust after dreaming of the hanged man. But Esther never experimented, because the influence of this point of light only worked on living beings, and the interaction with ordinary animals and plants had no feedback, only to make them closer to her.
This was Esther's first attempt to directly shove a point of light into a spiritual person.
Ademisore blinked and slowly sat up from the ground, the world he perceived had never been so stable and clear, the chaotic, crazy patches of color or whispers, all cut off from a safe distance, a faint glow lurking on the outer layer of his touch, turning into a solid shield that helped him distinguish the chaos between the real world and the strange world.
Ademisore rubbed his eyes and ears in disbelief, and with a new, calm gaze, he surveyed everything around him, and saw the young woman kneeling beside him, her face full of worry.
"You...... It was you who helped me. β
"My name is Esther, can you remember this time?"
Esther...... Isn't it light? I'm sorry! I don't mean, it's just-" Ademisol was a little incoherent, he wasn't even used to such ordinary communication, his consciousness was so clear that he couldn't even get used to it.
Esther smiled, "It's okay, it's just that it's weird to be called out all the time." After all, I have a name. β
"My name is Ademisor."
"I know, it's great to see you recover." Esther reached out and shook Ademisore gently, then pulled him up from the ground as she went.
Ademisore never seemed to have such a communicative experience, his face was full of novelty, his face flushed crimson, and he stared curiously at Esther's hair, he couldn't help but point to Esther's hair and say, "What are they talking about?" β
Confused, Esther tugged at a strand of hair and put it in front of her eyes, but didn't hear any sound: "I don't seem to be able to hear." Maybe it's because you're too inspired to hear them. β
It could also be because I sacrificed a hair to contain their kind...... Don't tell Ademisor about this.
"Inspiration? What is that? β
"It refers to the individual's ability to sense the spirit, above the material world, there are other worlds, and you are born with a certain amount of extraordinary power, but because it is not completely controllable, you will unconsciously spy on all the worlds around you, and you cannot stably identify the gap between the material world and the spiritual world."
Ademisor nodded, then shook his head.
Esther understood what he meant after a moment's thought, and asked, "You didn't understand, did you?" β
Ademisor nodded vigorously this time, his pale and thin cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
"It's like a chocolate wrapped in candy wrapper, you used to eat it together, and naturally you would suffer from eating candy wrapper, but now you can tell the line between chocolate and candy wrapper, and only take out the chocolate."
Ademisore nodded slightly, though the analogy was strange: "The real world is much more complicated than chocolate. β
"That's true, the real world is chaotic." Esther patted Ademisol on the shoulder above her, a scene that seemed comical from the sidelines, "But you're still welcome to come to the real world soberly." β
"Thank you, thank you very much."
"Will you tell me what you saw before that scared you so much?"
Ademisol was silent for a few seconds, forced the fear in his eyes, and slowly spoke: "I saw blood, the whole world was full of blood, Tingen was destroyed, evil and terrible monsters were born from blood, everyone ...... You need to get out of here! You're going to die, too! All will die! β
Esther listened to Ademisor's words and was silent for a long time.
Ademisore grabbed her shoulder: "You have to get out of here!" Tingen is destroyed! The boundless sea of blood will drown it, and the terrifying power is too strong for many people to survive......"
Esther patted Ademisole's arm, and he let go of her, Esther's voice was still calm: "Ademisor, I said, fate is chaos. What you see can be changed. β
Then she laughed easily: "There are people I know who like to save Tingen. They can give their lives to protect Tingen, and I'm going to protect them. β
Ademisor stared blankly at Esther as he heard the murmur of her pale blonde hair humming like a swarm of flying bees handing over the same wordβ"That's fate."
Destruction is also a part of the music of fate, and it is the source of chaos that disrupts fate.
Ademisor quietly followed behind Esther, looking at the people in the market with new eyes, his senses were no longer disturbed by the spirit world, and being able to see the most simple material world in this way was already a good medicine for him to calm his mind.
The world wasn't full of endless chaos, babbling, and monsters, and Ademisor, with a smile on his lips that he didn't even realize, followed Esther step by step, like a broken chick who was afraid that he would lose it.
Esther was walking towards the door near the Dragon's Bar, and she told Crane that she would wait for him around the corner.
"Light, Esther, is that what inspiration you speak of is what they call extraordinary power?" Ademisor's hearing was still good, and he could clearly hear the sneaky conversation between the two stall owners, and then he whispered various questions, forcing Esther to act as his encyclopedia.
With Esther's knowledge of the occult, it is enough to deal with Ademisole's 100,000 whys: "Inspiration is different from the essence of extraordinary power, it is a manifestation of it." Your current extraordinary power is incomplete, which is why you were unable to control yourself before. β
Esther paused and continued, "I'll try to find the potions you can take, and when you become a complete extraordinary, you will be able to control your own inspiration, and then you will be able to control what you feel." β
"And what about me now?" Ademisore pointed to his forehead.
"Maybe it's borrowed from me? I don't know what it was, I just did what I could...... But if I disappear, it's likely that this power will also be shattered, so you can't always survive with the power I lent. β
Ademisor's face was full of resistance: "I don't want you to disappear, you won't die." β
"Everyone will die, including me, Ademisor." Esther said nonchalantly, her eyes glancing over a mouse that had jumped from the corner, "This is the fate of humanity. β
Unless they cease to be human beings and extend towards a more fateful form, the pointer of fate will still stay on the bodies of those mythical creatures, and when all beings are engulfed in madness, they or they will be tied to the strings of fate again.
"It's really fun." Esther whispered, rubbing her right eyebrow, feeling a little tired.
Esther and Ademisol sat at the foot of the wall where he was most often, and the longboard was still in place, which reminded Esther of the last time the beautiful lady with a round face.
After all this time, she probably forgot about me.
Esther thought, staring boredly at the passing crowd, which made her look even more sluggish than the clear-eyed Ademisor.
ββ
"Ademisor?" The rough, deep male voice was full of uncertainty.
Ademisol subconsciously stood up and looked at the man in front of him at a loss: "Uh, ah, sir......"
"It's Svein."
"Mr. Svein." Ademisor immediately answered, his normal and swift reactions, and the steady mental state he displayed during the exchange, which made the eyes of the stout old man in the uniform of a naval officer widen.
"Do you know your name? Can you recognize me? You-" Svein, the owner of the Dragon Bar, looked surprised and delighted, and then his skeptical gaze fell on Esther, "You did this?" β
Esther subconsciously shrunk her neck: "Good evening, Mr. Svein." β
Svein's gaze gradually became cold: "You look strange, do you know me?" β
Noticing Svein's hostility towards strangers, Esther realized that he had not only forgotten to see herself, but also suspected that he was a wild anomalous who had manipulated Ademisor. The former punisher didn't look like a persuasive man, not to mention the "storm" sequence of the punishers, who were known for their violent temper.
Esther immediately pointed at Ademisor and said confidently, "I shouted after him." β
