Chapter 52: Support
As the whistle sounded, the skeletal crocodile slowed its momentum and turned its head in the direction from which the sound had come from.
It felt an even more threatening aura towards it, and the most primitive self-defense mechanism "fear" forced it to interrupt the killing of these "prey" in front of it, and forcibly endured the pain caused by the entanglement of the two forces on its head, trying to distinguish what was approaching.
And the moment Alexander saw the white bone monster stop, the despair in his heart deepened, this monster was already so difficult, if it could control or even deter its existence......
Do they still have any hope of escaping?
But the next moment, Alexander saw the figure coming out of the woods.
Even if she didn't have a lantern in her hand, it was enough for others to see her face, and Hamel's golden hair was only a piece of silver, and those pale yellow points of light were floating around her, which was something special that Alexander had tried to "identify" but had not dared to see.
Alexander seemed to understand what Aaron's "light" was, for the lady who came out was surrounded by a group of glowworm-like lights, hazy and strange, and she seemed to be one with them, like a shepherd surrounded by a flock of sheep.
The light is so gentle that people can't help but hope that they can be a part of it, and it is like looking at a false phantom across the riverbank.
The whistle never stopped, blowing a melody that Alexander had never heard before.
Hamel didn't have much expression on her face, calmly and indifferently staring at the huge skeleton crocodile, and there was also a strange light circulating under her eyes, but it was obscured by a faint black shadow, blurred.
It was only at the moment when she turned her head sideways and made contact with Alexander, that Hamel blinked and nodded at Alexander, and her usual fresh and brisk demeanor reappeared.
She hung the lantern on a branch, left her left hand, habitually moved her five fingers, and her right hand clenched the bone sword that radiated the same light.
Esther no longer repeated the song "Worm Flying" with a whistle, but with a slight force under her feet, she went straight to the huge crocodile's head, which was mixed with flesh and mucous membranes and feathers.
As Esther lowered her body and sprang out, the skeletal crocodile flipped its body and threw its tail at Esther with all its might.
It was deliberately distancing its head from Esther.
Esther, however, curled the corners of her mouth, and the bone sword in her right hand made a circle in the air.
A huge ring of light lit up at the soles of the skeleton crocodile's feet, humming sound.
If the purpose of the first was to sneak attack, Esther didn't need to whistle at all, her original purpose was to use the resonance of the whistle to guide the points of light that were lurking in the ground, so that they could spread wide enough beneath the giant crocodile.
Enough to wrap it inside the ring!
The skeletal crocodile's form began to twist back little by little, gradually retracting its flung tail in a rather comical way, and its limbs, which were shorter than its massive body, writhed on the ground, uncontrollably backwards towards the place where it had just stepped on.
"You guys get back to the ship as soon as possible!" Esther shouted at Alexander from afar.
Alexander certainly wouldn't hesitate at such a critical time, and since Hamel was able to hold the giant crocodile back now, the others would only get in the way.
"A few of you, follow Mary to the coast as soon as possible, and you will join them in Thomma, on guard against possible other enemies!"
Mary lifted the two sailors up from the ground: "I see! ”
Thoma gritted his teeth and glanced at Hamel, who was running quickly towards the giant crocodile's body: "What about you?" ”
Alexander pulled the other sailor up from the ground with a calm face: "If we don't get back half an hour after you board, let Aaron divinate my situation and leave the island as soon as possible." Just keep this one box for me, and you can bring the other two back. ”
Thoma took a deep breath: "Okay, you take care. ”
He won't leave time for sadness, this is not the time to die or live together, there are still wounded in the team, ordinary people can't help here and will only become a drag, it's true to send them away as soon as possible.
Mary looked at the figure surrounded by points of light, and soon followed the others into the woods.
The light on the outer layer of the "pale bone stud" in Esther's hand weakened, revealing the original appearance of white and smooth bone, and a little light floated from above, resonating with its counterparts in the air at the same frequency.
The moment Esther stepped into the aperture range, the ring under the skeletal crocodile's feet began to tremble, because of her appearance, the incomplete "restart" of the interference tore a gap, and as the black light in the crocodile's eye sockets became more intense, its body gradually stopped reversing its movements.
Esther's aura shattered suddenly, and only a few points of light returned to the prototype after shattering, as if the trailing meteor flew back to Esther's side, most of which were consumed in the previous incomplete "reboot".
Esther threw herself and tumbled, dodging where the skeletal crocodile's tail had slammed down, and the place she had just run had been crushed into a deep pit.
The beast continued to sweep with its tail, and Esther had already seen the angle of the tail swing, and she slammed into the ground, allowing her body to leap into the air.
She seized the opportunity of the tail to get closer, and stabbed the "pale bone nail" in her right hand to it, and grabbed the bulge on the other tailbone with her left hand, stabilizing the center of gravity on the crocodile's tail.
The crocodile flicked its tail violently, but it couldn't get rid of Esther at all, the huge tailbone of her body kept rising and falling, and her mind was rapidly reasoning about her landing point and inertial momentum, Esther stared at every opportunity to grasp the bone spur in front of her, and kept crawling up the crocodile's backbone.
Alexander opened the box he had left behind, and pulled out a test tube containing a light cyan fluorescent liquid, and Alexander did not hesitate to pull the plug and pour it down.
Alexander, Thoma, and Aaron each kept a tube of the potion that could forcibly drain the drinker's spirit after drinking, but they had to rest for the next three days, otherwise using their extraordinary abilities would greatly increase the risk of losing control.
But now Alexander didn't care about that, Hamel was probably going to be very difficult alone, and from Alexander's observations, she seemed to have set her sights on the monster's skull from the beginning, and Alexander happened to know the strangeness of the bone sword, and had a corresponding guess about what Hamel was going to do.
She wanted to use that bone sword to absorb the cold power hidden in the skeletal monster's eye sockets.
The aura power that Hamel used to hold back the monster was amazing, and although Alexander didn't know how it worked, it was clear that it wasn't an ability that could be used or maintained frequently, and it would be difficult for her to use it a second time in a short period of time.
So Alexander knew he had to help her, find a way to hold the massive monster in place, and give Hamel a chance to climb atop the skull crocodile's head.
He took out a small tin box with several dead vines tied together, and after tearing open the dead vines, Alexander pushed the box open, revealing the sealed seeds inside.
The seed looked like a husked brown-skinned almond, but its wrinkled skin was carved into the texture of several circles of branches and leaves, revealing the tubes that flowed green sap beneath.
After instilling a large amount of the spirit that had been generated, Alexander began to transform the skin into an emerald green seed and stuffed it into a nearby dispenser. The dispenser was also created specifically for this seed, and its construction is closer to that of a crossbow bolt, using the impact of a trap spring rather than gunpowder, and its range and lethality are far inferior to that of a normal revolver.
But to launch this seed, it is enough.
The moment the trigger was pulled, a green ball of light exploded from the tip of the launcher, and before it could touch the ground, it had already grown a large root system in the air.
The almond in the middle, which had completely turned green, fell to the sole of the skeleton crocodile's feet, and it was hurriedly crushed to pieces.
Large branches of trees, green leaves, and vines spread wildly, and the green plants were full of life, like balloons that had been blown up in an instant, and swelled into a large mass. Distorted by extraordinary power, they have crossed the speed of a decade and a hundred years, trying to dig into the roots of those white bones, drawing its energy to further incubate themselves.
The crocodile's entire lower body was wrapped in and wrapped around the wild plants that didn't belong to the island, and it could no longer try to shake off the threatening presence on its tail.
Esther would not let go of this opportunity, and as soon as her body stabilized, she ran and jumped, using the bones of the crocodile's back, to quickly approach the front of the head.
Only a small part of the skull still had white bones exposed, and its entire jaw, teeth, and the tip of the upper jaw were wrapped in a mass of flesh that was constantly swollen with blood bubbles, and it was unshapedly attached to the bones inside, which were closer to a layer of flesh than flesh that had been chopped up, and those blood bubbles would burst open from time to time, spilling a small cloud of crimson blood plasma.
The crocodile had colorful feathers from the top of its head down to its eye sockets, as if it had been inserted with a crest of feathers, and it swayed from side to side as it began to shake its head vigorously.
Esther stepped on the bright feather, and the cold aura touched her, but it could not affect her in the slightest, and she clung to the upturned piece of the white bone beast's skull, and stood firm.
Then the bone sword in her right hand was raised high and stabbed hard into the middle of the crocodile's eyes.
Due to the nature of the Pale Spike, it can pierce through any bone without hindrance, and the entire tip penetrates deep into the skull of a giant crocodile.
Esther could clearly feel that something had been pierced by the "Pale Bone Spike" when she pressed the bone sword into it, and it was frantically absorbing the power of the similar source.
The cold aura continued to overflow from under the bone sword, and the giant crocodile under Esther's feet opened its mouth, but because of the disorder of the source of power, it could no longer let out the silent scream against the spirit.
Esther pressed hard against the end of the bone sword.
A black bolt seeped into her body along the bone sword, and for a moment, Esther caught a glimpse of some strange vision:
It was much like the mythological description of the Feathered Serpent, but it was lifeless and unreal in the shadows, with pale butter-stained feathers growing through the gaps in its dark green scales and thin black tubes extending from above.
A thick cloud of bones overwhelmed the scene.
The crocodile's massive body slammed into the ground after raising its head one last time, stirring up flying dust and crushed branches.
