Chapter 57: Attraction
As the sun sets, a passenger ship sails from Baiam to Olawe, and after a few hours of waiting until night, it enters the port of Olawe.
Crane sat on the couch in the luxurious first class, expressionlessly waiting for the end of the trip, hoping that there would be no more accidents. On the low table in front of him was a ring box, and a white dice lay quietly inside.
On the easy chair next to him sat an "old acquaintance" whom Esther also knew, the fat pharmacist she had blackmailed for the "monster" formula and reunited in Beckland, Darkwell.
An owl was crouching on Darkwell's shoulder, his eyes closed and pretending to sleep, and Darkwell stared dejectedly at the small box on the table, his round face pale.
Ever since he accidentally triggered this dice and kept encountering bad luck, Darkwell's expression has never been better, and if he hadn't hired Gelman Sparrow, he would have been tortured to death by this "probability dice".
"Click!"
Suddenly, there was a violent crash in the box, and Klein reacted quickly to press the lid of the box, but he didn't expect the dice to struggle even more violently, it was not rolling at all, but jumping inside the box, as if it was violently frightened.
Klein's inspiration struck him, and he looked sideways out the window.
Even Darkwell and the owl turned their heads together, but the people on the passenger ship were attracted by the strange sight:
A pirate ship with a four-leaf clover and a crossed skull flag sailed out of the void, wrapped in translucent green bubbles that seemed to be torn out of the splash of oil paint, and finally pinched out such a strange pirate ship.
It appeared out of thin air dozens of meters away from the passenger ship, and when it fell to the sea, it made a large splash, but fortunately there was a foam cushion at the bottom, so that it would not be too bumpy.
The dice in the box suddenly stopped, Klein quickly lifted the lid to take a look at it, who knew that the dice jumped out in an instant, and resolutely threw a bright red point!
At first, Crane thought it was the intimidating effect of the "All Black Eyes" that had subsided, causing the dice to look abnormal, but the next moment he realized that nothing was wrong with him or Darkwell.
So who is this probability pointing to!?
Crane subconsciously looked at the ship outside, the pirate flag embroidered with the four-leaf clover flag swaying.
Esther wrote that she was visiting a ship with a foam surround, the "Clover".
An even more terrifying sense of threat enveloped Crane's senses, not a warning from his divination abilities, but a warning from the gray mist that Crane was carrying.
The comer is too powerful, and the impact caused the gray fog to warn itself!
The void above the liner was torn apart, and another invisible passage filled with various intricate symbols appeared, and there was no such conspicuous movement as the "Clover", and the man, dressed in a classical dark robe and a black soft hat, poked his pale hands out of the crack in the door, and his whole body was able to walk out of it.
The next moment, his gaze naturally fell on the "four-leaf clover" on the other side.
Before Crane could pick up the "Dice of Chance" on the ground and threaten it to re-bet on the unidentified enemy on top, the white dice suddenly stood up, and the gentle light flashed away, as if an invisible hand had fallen and began to play with it.
The dice settled, and a red six-point reappeared, the white dice still trembling slightly, and even if it shouldn't have any emotions, Crane could detect that it was unusually frightened as a bystander.
That glow was familiar to him.
ββ
The "Clover", which had just fallen out of the crack in the spirit world, fell heavily on the sea, and before the hull could fully stabilize, the touch of "spiritual intuition" made Esther's heart tighten.
She turned to the passenger ship on the other side, her breath faltered for a moment, something there exuded a strong attraction, and although she only perceived it for a moment, Esther was still aware of its presence.
What is it? What's that, exactly?
The starry mark in her eyes became more and more dazzling, which made Esther open her eyes for a moment, and then quickly closed her eyes, for fear of any impact on Alexander and Aaron, especially Aaron, who was an extraordinary person in the path of "fate".
If it weren't for the lack of wings, Esther would have jumped out of the "Clover" without hesitation and flew straight over to the ship opposite.
When the "door" appeared above the passenger ship and the black-robed man walked out of it, Esther's "spiritual intuition" actually warned her!
Esther didn't hesitate, not even caring about the damage to her body caused by the previous journey through the spirit realm, and her right hand rubbed clockwise on the gemstone necklace three times again.
Esther's gaze fell diagonally below the Clover, sketching a circle in her mind to open.
The black-robed man in mid-air turned his head, frowning slightly, and turned his attention in surprise to the pirate ship wrapped in green bubbles.
Esther's palm pulled away suddenly, and the Clover shook violently, plunging headlong into the new spiritual passage as the water flowed.
The next moment, the figure of the black-robed man flashed near the ring passage that Esther had opened.
At the same time, the dice were rolled to six.
Out of a strong sense of crisis from spiritual guidance, the black-robed man did not continue to enter this obviously unstable spiritual passage.
And his premonition was immediately fulfilled, in the silent spiritual turbulence, this passage mouth broke and disappeared, if he tried to chase it just now, I am afraid that it would have been crushed at this time.
The black-robed man's expression was a little gloomy, his spirituality swept across the sea, but he didn't catch any clues left, he could only open an almost invisible door in the air again and step into it.
The sea gradually returned to calm, and if it weren't for the fact that there were still a few foams floating on the surface of the sea with colorful shreds, it would not be much more real than a dream.
ββ
When the perceived danger finally left, Crane breathed a sigh of relief and put the trembling-looking dice back in the ring box.
It was fixed at six o'clock, and it didn't seem like there would be any more movement anytime soon, and Crane didn't think he needed to intimidate the thing with the "Eyes of All Black" anymore.
The ship Esther was on, the "Clover" seemed to have escaped, they seemed to have a means to travel through the spirit world, but it seemed quite unsafe, this six-point should be good luck for the fellow.
Crane tapped the lid of the ring box and sat back down on the couch.
He had an inexplicable and clear guess in his heart that it must have been "Zoya" that affected the points of the "Probability Dice".
But whether it was through or through Esther, I don't know it clearly. If I take a step further in my control of the Grey Mist, maybe I can properly infiltrate the power of "Zoya" into the real world?
The sun was setting and it wasn't long before the night fully embraced the ship as it approached Olavi Island.
ββ
At the end of the shattering spiritual passage, the "Four Clovers" once again squeezed through the gap in the spiritual world and fell on another sea area.
After a series of bumps and pressures, Aaron, who was holding the side of the ship, felt a little weak, and he threw all the tasks of stabilizing the ship and directing the sailors to Thoma, as the first mate, just to give good luck to everyone at the bow of the ship.
When he sensed the appearance of at least the "demigod" in the air, Aaron's heart was indeed cold, and his luck seemed to have been fed to the dog.
What he didn't expect was that Hamel didn't care about the interference of the whispering at all, and resolutely chose to open the second spiritual passage before him or Alexander, allowing the "Clover" to escape narrowly and dangerously.
It's just extremely lucky, but the price of this luck ......
"Hamel!? Hurry up and take that thing off! Alexander had put on his gloves when he spoke, ready to take the necklace from Hamel.
Esther took a step back, leaning against the fence: "Wait, not now, I need to calm down...... Don't come near me yet. β
When she said these words, there was a hidden pain in her voice, and a strange humming sound, so soft that it was almost unreal.
The ringing in Aaron's mind instantly rose high, and a chaotic omen appeared uncontrollably in front of him, and he subconsciously grabbed Alexander, stumbling and dragging the old gentleman with doubts in his eyes to the side.
"Get out of the way, her, state, danger, I'm ......"
Aaron struggled to squeeze the words between his teeth, until the two of them retreated a few meters away, the buzzing sound that made him want to go crazy subsided, and the chaotic scene in front of him gradually faded, controlled and suppressed by Aaron's restabilized spirituality.
Although Alexander didn't understand what Hamel was going through, Aaron's equally painful face let him know that Hamel was most likely in some kind of uncontrollable state, which caused Aaron to be affected more strongly.
"Are you okay?" Alexander had to hold Aaron, who was trembling, to prevent him from falling.
Aaron retched twice on the edge of the fence and took a deep breath: "Cancel the whole ship's protection, concentrate the protection on Hamel alone, and isolate her." β
"Okay, I'll go to the captain's roomβ"
But before Alexander could act, the Clover trembled slightly, the outer green bubble burst automatically, and a new curtain of light rose from the soles of Esther's feet, enveloping her whole body and enclosing her in the bow of the ship.
"It seems that the princess also knows that she is not doing well." Aaron smiled bitterly and patted Alexander's shoulder, "I'll take a look at the situation on Thoma's side, I still have to divinate where we are now, otherwise it won't be a way to drift along the wind and waves like this." β
"Well, don't try to divinate Hamel's situation." Alexander's face was grim, his gray eyes were very dark, and he kept his eyes fixed on the blonde lady.
Aaron patted his chest and spat out the last breath of depression: "I know this kind of thing. β
