Chapter 214: Questioned

The apparent state of affairs had subsided, and Benjamin remained standing in the middle of the hall, unmoved.

But when he turned his gaze to Esther, he found that her hood was hanging down, and she did not respond to his gaze. So Benjamin focused his attention on the group of members who were still uneasy.

Esther looked up slightly, the world before her had returned to normal, but she was staring only at the shadow at Benjamin's feet, not daring to look at his face, including his disc glasses.

The old man, headed by the House of Jacob, cleared his throat again: "Benjamin, we need an explanation."

Benjamin turned to face the old man and bowed respectfully, giving the "Jacob parent" enough face. But when he straightened up, what he said was not so polite:

"I've done my duty as a meeting assistant and moderator, and I don't know what else to explain."

The crowd behind the old man began to whisper again, and after the old man cleared his throat, they restrained their obvious dissatisfaction, but Benjamin only smiled lightly, and swept over those who whispered or reprimanded.

All their faces are hidden in the shadows, but for the "deceitful teachers", if they deceive their own gaze into the perception of light, they can clearly see the indignation on their faces and their distrust of Benjamin.

Now that Esther believed Benjamin's words, with his seemingly humble but actually haughty attitude, Esther could fully imagine why he was not popular.

The lady of the Zoroasd family asked again, "What is the situation with that strange member?"

"Just like a few other new members who were led by someone, she was also a new member of the conference for the first time, which is what I met." Benjamin shook his head impatiently, as if to drive away an invisible fly, "I've vouched for her, is there anything else you want to ask?"

The lady was not perfunctory by this statement, and every time she spoke, she was calm, with a sense of reassurance that could be conveyed to others: "Even if you vouch for it, you can't prove that there is something else behind her, can you?"

"There's nothing she can do to bring any disaster, no extraordinary, no extraordinary, can enter here alone. The person who comes to this *** must be a 'thief, or there is no way to resonate with this hall)."

A man sitting in the corner suddenly spoke, with gray hair and brown eyes, who looked to be in his forties, with a half-bald hairline on his forehead and a slight beard. As one of the people who didn't hide his appearance, he was probably already a "parasite":

"But Bishop Rose can enter the human body through flesh magic, and if you can't make sure she's harmless and lead someone to ***, then the offense is even heavier."

Benjamin glanced at the man faintly, "One, of course I've ensured that her's is harmless, and two, your taste in choosing a host is getting worse and worse, Orpheus."

"Don't get out of the way, Jacob's direct friend," the lady of the Zoroaster family spoke again, interrupting the apparently incompatible exchange between the two, "We need to know more about the new friend joining ***, at least have a basic understanding of her sequence and strength."

Benjamin frowned and looked at the lady for two seconds, then nodded in Esther's direction, "You can ask yourself." As for whether you want to answer or not, Hamel, you decide."

He also used the pseudonym agreed upon by the two, and Esther subconsciously stood up from the stone chair when she heard Benjamin's call. Following Benjamin's previous gesture, she made a simple curtsy in the direction of the two chiefs of Jacob and Zoroaster:

"Since you're curious, I can answer your own sequence, I'm already a 'parasite'. As for the source of the breath on this cloak, I can't tell you, it's my personal secret, I'm sorry."

"Demigods? I propose that she be executed as well." The man Benjamin called Orpheus said, "We don't need to let the extraordinary characteristics of the mid-to-high sequences leak out."

As soon as this sentence came out, those members who did not belong to the two families were obviously nervous. They are numerous, though

, but there is no clearer leader, and most of them will become "thieves", which can be regarded as an "outflow" of extraordinary characteristics.

Benjamin sneered, "It's someone else's business that someone else can be promoted, and your jealousy is really pathetic. Even if the extraordinary properties are recovered, it is the house of Jacob, because she is a descendant of the side branch of the house of Jacob."

The lady of the House of Zoroastrid and the old man of the House of Jacob raised their heads at the same time, and looked past Benjamin in the direction of Esther, apparently both of them were puzzled and did not quite believe Benjamin's words.

Since the Jacob family was involved, the old man immediately took two steps forward and approached Benjamin's position, although the black robe shook slightly, but did not make any sound.

Esther can almost confirm that the three "deception mentors" mentioned by Benjamin, in addition to himself, the other two are the leaders of the two "thief" families, and they are obviously angel families in the Quaternary period, but now they have withered to the highest only sequence three......

Her gaze swept over Benjamin's intently listening gaze and landed on his disc glasses.

The words spoken by the doppelganger, and what Esther saw when her vision was confused, perfectly encased the uneasiness in her heart.

Benjamin's lips moved slightly, obviously answering some questions from the old man, and out of secrecy, both of them deceived the law of voice transmission and communicated directly with each other.

Their exchange soon ended, and the old man stood back beside the members of Jacob's house, amidst the occasional chatter in the hall, and said nothing, without asking Esther any questions directly.

Esther smelled something different, the leader of the Jacob family may not have been discouraged, but was simply afraid of Benjamin, so after a brief understanding of the situation, he acquiesced to Benjamin's move to bring someone to ***.

Could it be that only Benjamin could communicate with this hall? Is there something special about him, or is it because the lady just said that Benjamin is the direct line of the head of the Jacob family?

But he is......

Esther couldn't take her eyes off it, quietly waiting for the outcome of the discussion, her gaze always falling on Benjamin's face, but quickly moving away after touching the pair of glasses.

After communicating with the old man, Benjamin glanced in the direction of Orpheus before looking at the lady in the Zoroaster family:

"In fact, I wanted to bring her because she had the 'true Creator's deity' in her. And as you can see, it was exactly what I had planned—she caught Amon's attention and succeeded in finding the hidden doppelganger for me, delaying a little time."

The lady thought for a few seconds before nodding slightly: "Judging from the results, there is no problem, then we can not pursue the process for the time being." If there is any problem with her in the future, you are the first person in charge, my understanding is not wrong, right?"

The old man of the Jacob family coughed vigorously twice before he said, "Even if Benjamin is to be punished, it is the matter of the Jacob family, so don't bother you to worry about it."

There was a smile in the lady's voice, which made her otherwise gentle tone more relatable, "I, including us, don't care about that, but someone has to take the risk. After all, the only person who could use this hall was Benjamin, who had been approved by the ancestors of Jacob's own family. You can't find anyone else to take care of it, can you?"

The old man also chuckled quietly, but he didn't say anything, he didn't intend to exacerbate the contradictions implicit in this conversation.

Benjamin stretched out his hands at the two of them, and bowed very respectfully:

"Since there are no other problems, let's sit down first. According to the *** process, the next thing is the time for free communication, information, materials, occult knowledge, etc., you can find someone you know on your own, or come to me to make an announcement.

"'The rules of the Destiny Hermit Club are also the same, as a meeting assistant, I only act as an intermediary to publish your transaction requests, and I will not bear the risk of being deceived by the other party for any transaction, I will only try my best to ensure the order of the meeting site, and I can't control the matter of leaving here."

Looking at it this way, the trust limit of this *** is probably losing millions, after all

People present will always experience "fraudsters" or have already been "fraudsters...... Esther muttered inwardly, but her eyes kept following the corner of Benjamin's clothes.

The way to make the announcement was also through Benjamin, who stood in the middle of the hall, and those people either whispered it or prepared a note in advance.

Once Benjamin had learned what they were going to post, he would clap his hands slightly, and a phantom in Rune's script would appear in mid-air, linked to a silver thread on the scale somewhere on the ground, and interested parties would be able to walk down there and consult with the publisher.

Such a meeting is not very efficient, but it also offers the possibility of one-on-one communication.

There are also many people who do not make announcements, but get together with acquaintances in the corner, discussing certain things in a low voice, and judging by the special tick marks where they stand, they already have a default meeting place.

Esther thought she would be able to sit quietly until the end of the room, but when Benjamin was surrounded by several people who were concentrating on the announcement they were about to make, someone soon came near her.

"Hello, Miss Hamel."

Esther turned her head to the side and looked at the gray-haired, half-bald man beside her, "Hello, Mr. Orpheus."

Orpheus observed Esther's red cloak, and when he got closer, the precious value of this item made him itch even more: "It's not easy to become a 'parasite' outside of our ***, I don't know which side of your parents is a member of the Jacob family?"

"Probably my father, but I don't remember them anymore. No one extraordinary person's path is easy, and everyone has to face their own tribulations."

A very simple but unsparing lie, trying to block my doubts with a broad truth? It seems that she doesn't have much experience with "thieves", and from the moment you answer the question, you are already behind.

Orpheus laughed disdainfully twice in his heart, and continued to make small talk to Esther in a very cordial tone:

"What happened on *** today was just an accident, don't be too afraid, most people here are very friendly."

Esther's gaze under the hood became strange, and she suppressed a smile and asked calmly, "Is it like the gentleman in the trench coat before?" He was very friendly when he chatted with me."

Orpheus felt something choke on his words.

The man before was an Amun clone......
