Chapter Seventy-Eight: Dreams: Long and Twisty
"Your condition has deteriorated further."
The lark pressed the feather tuft to Darriberg's hand and whispered.
In this modest prayer room, only Darriberg and Sasriel were present, the latter of whom was bowing his head reverently and silently praying to the cross.
Hearing Zoya's words, Saslir also lowered his hands and raised his head to look at Dariberg: "How long have you not prayed?" β
Compared to Darriberg, Sasriel was in much better shape, often taking Zoya around, but spending more time with the larks.
Darzyberg did not respond to the two, he just clutched the cross on his chest tightly, and looked indifferently at the other cross in front of the church, the "sun god" frowned slightly, as if he was seriously thinking about something.
It wasn't until Zoya pushed his hand with her head that Dariberg came back from his contemplation and said with a wry smile:
"My situation is not that bad, not to mention worsening. I just don't think it's necessary, I'm the 'Lord' now, do I have to pray to myself again? β
Sasriel shook his head: "You know, it doesn't mean the same to us. β
"I'm thinking about something else," Darriberg deliberately diverted from the topic, "I've consulted with Amanisis about the possibility of some of the Old Gods being 'resurrected'. β
"You're worried about your fall." Sasliel sighed softly.
He combined his thumb, index finger, and middle finger, and drew a small cross from top to bottom, from right to left, and then stood up from the bench:
"Then you think about it slowly, I still have some things to do. As for my thoughts, you know ......"
"Ah, I understand. If you do make a decision, I will discuss a detailed plan with you. β
There's no one better than myself. Darriberg couldn't help but think so, and watched as Sasliel stepped out of the prayer room, closing the door from the outside.
Then Darriburg lowered his head again and looked at the fluffy lark in his hand:
"Even the 'Spirit Lord' behind you hasn't completely escaped the fate of the fall, has he?
"I've thought about a lot of situations, but no matter how you think about it, it's a strange thing for them to disappear like this. Do you know what happened at that time? β
"I don't know. At that point in time, I was not yet conscious, and I could not peek into the fragmented past from the subverted river of fate...... Because it's just me, I can't do it. β
Darzyberg pondered: "In other words, there are other beings who can do it. β
Zoya nodded: "The light of fate, my root, He is at the end of the blockade, but I cannot seek revelation from it. β
Darriberg understood what Zoya was referring to, the gray fog on the easternmost side of the land that separated the other part of the world. Even he and Sasriel couldn't go deep into the mist, and the invisible force was extremely repulsive to them.
After Sasriel left, Dariberg did not hide the exhaustion on his face anymore, and he looked at the cross again, remembering Sasriel's previous question.
How long has it been since he prayed devoutly? No, he doesn't need ...... at all
Darriberg blinked, "Why do I feel the effects of the Convergence, which is not the same as the situation of the Old Gods?" β
"Sorry, I don't know." Zoya replied dryly.
Darzyberg smiled and shook his head, the pitcher smoothing the lark's feathers: "I'm not asking you for the answer, I'm just talking to myself." β
ββ
"You're too anxious."
Darriberg always felt that he had heard this sentence many times recently, and if it weren't for his patience, his ears would probably be calloused.
"When I became a true god, Zoya also spent some time helping me to stabilize. You are now accommodating the reclaimed 'authority' so often that it is likely to leave a sequelae. β
"I know I'm paying attention to my form, and I'm a 'pro' in that regard."
Ignoring the authoritative joke, Amanisis stood in front of the map that Dariberg revealed, the corners of his lips pursed under the veil of darkness, and he felt that he could not make a choice because of some thought.
He stretched out his finger, walked lightly along the shoreline, and then dotted on the gray gap on the east side of the continent:
"That fog is a threat?"
"At least it's something we can't control, it's dangerous, but it's not expanding outward."
"Zoya said that the time has not yet come." Amanisis seemed to know something, but he didn't go any further, apparently not intending to share information with his "friends" about it.
Well, maybe we're not friends either, good partners, business associates or something? Dariberg sighed silently in his heart, and did not ask his scheming acquaintance again, he at least knew what to get to the bottom of and when to stop.
Relationships are not always about research, and the twists and turns in them are a lot more troublesome......
Thinking so, Darzyberg stretched out his hand and tapped at the raised half of the coastline, and a small sail boat with a brilliant golden glow immediately appeared on it, looking lifelike, as if it would swim out of the map at any moment.
The boat swayed from side to side, then pulled out dozens of identical phantoms, all of them going around different bends, but their common goal was to pass through the vast expanse of blue, outlining a series of routes to the vague outlines of the opposite shore, and finally weaving a large net of the entire map.
Amanisis quickly glanced at the waterways, quickly memorizing them in his mind, and using them to compare the information that had already been explored: "Verified? β
"Yes, we shouldn't feel strange."
After a moment of silence, Amanis's head drooped: "It's still different. β
"It's the same, no matter how much it changes, it's still the same," Dariberg said softly, "Zoya's memory is the best proof." β
Amanisis smiled, "Actually, to this day, I have never fully trusted Him. But I think this kind of suspicion is normal. β
"Too many doubts will be very tiring, and we have more things to focus on." Darzyberg paused, then continued, "But your words have a point, and I already have some guesses about the nature of some of the appeasement that Zoya has inflicted. β
He pointed to the phantom of a sunny sailboat resting on the shore: "If there is a proper description, I think we can call it 'anchor'. β
"Anchor? Placement? It's very much in line with His ability to help me stabilize my state. β
"The fact that the Old Gods were able to maintain their sobriety from madness was not a probabilistic accident, but that through the 'anchor', they managed to maintain their mental condition."
When Darriberg said this, he tapped his temple: "You have to be vigilant, even I don't know what we will become if this continues, and the spiritual change is the most hidden." β
Amanisis was silent for two seconds, then suddenly sighed, "I kind of regret letting you take him." β
Darriberg smiled and waved away the wide map in front of the two of them: "Now realize this, it's too late, he's already Zoya." β
"Your followers have already begun to compile the holy scriptures, and they have already included the image of the lark."
"That's not what I asked for, well, if you're not satisfied, Sasriel can let them delete it......"
Amanisis curled the corners of her lips slightly: "Okay, you agreed." β
Darriberg was a little helpless at such a cautious eye: "I know that he is not suitable to leave too many traces in the real world...... Zoya is going to come back to where He came from, isn't she? β
"Yes, I've talked to Him a lot, it's just that it's not convenient to tell you about those things."
"It's just that when He came with you, it inevitably affected everything, and I always felt that He was deliberately avoiding this, and the ripples of fate were clearly in Himself." Darriburg walked to the corner of the room and picked up a black box, "I'll leave the matter of 'secret' to you." β
Under the black veil of Amanisis, the smile deepened, and he took what he had come to pick up from Dariberg's hand: "I have another agreement with him. β
Inside the box is a copy of the extraordinary properties of "Naturewalker".
ββ
"He is the Creator of all things, who separates light and darkness, and puts an end to the emptiness and chaos of the world;
God, who is omniscient and omnipotent, has set the morning and dusk, and has drawn the land and the sea, so that the hours without beginning and without end may have a name to cry outβthe seasons, the days, and the years;
He is the root of all greatness, and the gods of the nations are nothing, but he created the heavens, and gave light, wisdom, and joy to those who please him, and punished the sinner with thunder and clouds;
He is the beginning and the end, awakened from his long sleep, and withdraws his mighty power, and keeps covenants and gives mercy to those who love him, and blesses and gracies to those who believe in him;
He is the God of the gods, the ruler of the vast astral plane......"
Sasriel closed the canon, looked at Dariberg beside him with a complicated expression, and did not speak for a long time.
The old god of Dariberg was caressing the wings of the lark on the ground: "Is Zoya a little fat?" β
"No, He never ate or drank, that body is not fit to digest anything, you know that."
"Yes, I'm just saying that," Darzyberg pinched Zoya's feathers, and a pale glow fell from them, circling his fingers, "maybe I can create you a fuller, freer body in the future, in human form." β
"Thank you." Zoya whispered, then unhappily tended her crumpled feathers as Darriberg withdrew her hand.
Darzyberg laughed, then looked at Saslier: "I've thought about it. β
"You have made up your mind about the resurrection hand."
"Yes, there are some necessary emergency measures, I will leave them to you, and the hidden gods will also help when the time comes."
Sasriel heard a hint of strangeness: "Your emergency measures are extreme? β
"You are me, of course, and you know me best, and Zoya will be the eyes outside of us, observing the changes in my fate." Darriberg smiled and handed the lark to Saslier, "If I am no longer me, please kill me." β
"This is your resurrection hand?" Sasriel subconsciously raised the volume of the question.
"I'm not crazy, at least not yet." Darzyberg said firmly.
