Chapter 101: Reality
In the deep sea, occupied by dreams, Klein wandered for a long time.
He had almost forgotten that time was passing in the outside world, and it was only after a long period of spiritual exhaustion that he reluctantly withdrew from someone's dream.
The owner of this dream is sitting in a narrow cubicle in a high-rise office, typing numbers into a form on a computer screen, but in fact, he is distracted and eavesdropping on his colleagues' gossip about the boss's family affairs, and occasionally sipping the bubble tea on the table to relieve his boredom.
The sight of the monitor, folder, and A4 paper in front of Klein's eyes dissipated, but the sound of keyboard tapping still seemed to echo in his ears, which made people miss it immensely.
He looked around and swept through a vast balloon-like levitating and inflated dreamscape from bottom to top, and Crane could not even count how many long-lived phantoms he had passed through.
He no longer controlled his body, but floated up with the tiny bubbles smaller than his fingernails, and Crane looked at the bubbles wrapped in dots of light, and in the distorted silver reflection outside, he saw someone's reflection - the "Fool" in a rune dress and a top hat.
Crane smiled and closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, he had already broken out of the gray mist and returned directly to his real-world body.
Unlike the usual feeling of climbing on the gray mist, Crane rubbed his eyes, and the soreness and numbness in his body gradually subsided after his spiritual stability stabilized.
Crane quickly glanced at the wall clock on the wall, only to realize that two hours had passed before he knew it, which was a lot more than he usually spent on the gray fog. But in the deep sea of that dream, Crane did not have the sense of time passing, and he even suspected that the time there was not the same as reality.
As for the phantoms from the people in the light cocoon, it was hard for Crane not to think of himself, and his dreams must have been a part of it before he left the light cocoon.
What will be in my dreams? All the life as "Zhou Mingrui"?
As soon as Crane thought of this, he faintly touched another layer of hidden fear, and he immediately dispelled his thoughts.
If he slipped further into self-doubt, Crane's spiritual instincts told him that things would get worse and that a loss of control would be a certainty.
But judging by the time, it seems that I really experienced a lucid dream? It always felt like I was staying there longer. Oops, a bit of a delay!
Crane quickly packed up the house, and the moment he unlocked the spiritual wall and opened the window, a lark slammed in from outside the house like a cannonball and slammed into Crane's head.
"Hiss......"
Crane touched the place where the bird's beak had punctured the skin, activated the "Faceling" ability, and rubbed the skin twice with his fingers, completely hiding the wound.
Sure enough, there is still movement in what he is doing here, at least he can't completely hide it from Nornes, otherwise this little guy wouldn't be so aggressive and have such a big temper.
Nornes didn't pester Crane any further, ignoring the master of the bedroom who had locked him out for a long time, and the lark spun around anxiously in the room, constantly making low calls.
But after a long time, there was no response with a buzzing sound. Noons landed on the edge of the carpet, staring down at the ash on the ground, his mouth opening and closing with a short trill, as if he was sorry for something.
Klein could even tell in the lark's eyes that he was stunned, which was too complicated for a bird.
He noticed that the place where Nornes had stayed was where the crystal ball had been, leaving a little residual ash as the herbs had been burned while praying to the goddess.
The things that Nornes is looking for can only be those points of light...... In Nornes' opinion, is that its companion? Kin? It seemed eager to be with them.
Crane leaned down, slowly reached close to Nornes, and gently stroked the lark's head twice as comfort. When he held it in his hand, the lark didn't struggle, but raised his head again and shouted at Klein twice aggrievedly.
"I sent them somewhere else. Would you love to meet them? β
When Klein asked, he couldn't help but feel a little weak, because he didn't even know if the key was still on the gray mist, and he was even worried that it was just a disposable product that had disappeared because of the consumption of power.
However, Nornes' reaction reassured Klein.
The lark lifted its wings and wiped its beak twice with the tip of its feather, opening and closing its beak up and down several times.
Klein felt that the guess he had just made about his "companion" was a hellish joke: "No, absolutely not!" Can't give it to you anymore. β
The lark made a cuckoo-like sound, and hopped down on Crane's hand in a huff, and walked back and forth around the ashes.
Crane sighed and went out to ask the secret puppet to check his schedule.
Mr. Dantès Daun is very busy, he also has to deal with the interpersonal relations of the upper echelons of the kingdom, moving around with his familiar colleagues, and the Charity Foundation has recently contacted several new schools in the East End, the arrangements of the military and the plans of the king......
There is also the collection and digestion of potion materials.
He couldn't stay immersed in that dream.
ββ
A palace surrounded by gray mist.
Leonard Mitchell leaned back to make himself more comfortable in the bronze high-back chair.
However, Leonard was not as bold as the "Devil" and dared to perform when the Tarot meeting was held. Even at this moment, he had never forgotten that this was the kingdom of the "Fools", and even though the "Fools" were not in their positions now, he might not be watching them somewhere.
For Leonard, it was the first time he had come here alone with the "world" for an intimate conversation. He didn't even know that he could apply to the "Fool" to use this hall, it was a good place to be isolated from the prying eyes of the outside world, and even the "thief" angel who parasitized him didn't know anything about the gray mist.
After all, when the previous tarot meetings met on a small scale and several people brainstormed together, they didn't call Mr. "Star" at all.
There have been similar treatments, including the "sun" and "moon", and the "demon" who speaks very disgustingly, so it is difficult to say that this is the isolation of the "stars".
But this kind of thing, don't let Leonard know. Klein silently thought in his heart, he was not the "world" in the black robe today, but directly changed to his original appearance, sitting in the position of "world" in the image of "Klein Moretti".
Leonard, who didn't know that his former colleague was separated by a few chairs, was thinking about some fragments, and he leaned lazily on the armrest: "Why did you suddenly find me?" β
"I have something to ask you for."
Leonard pointed to himself and expressed his confusion in a raised nasal voice, "Need my help?" Are you looking for Parles? β
Ever since he learned that Crane had become a demigod, Leonard felt a sense of powerlessness, and he thought that perhaps someone was born to be extraordinary, and then Pales laughed at the idea, telling Leonard that those who could become gods would inevitably be protected accordingly.
However, when Paris said this, he was afraid that this kid would be proud, so he didn't tell Leonard that this young man had been promoted faster than many people.
Leonard didn't think he could do Klein any favor, after all, his old friend had become a demigod, and Leonard himself had just accumulated enough merits and held a ceremony a few days ago, and it hadn't been long since he was promoted to the "spirit witch" of Sequence Five.
"Is this self-knowledge?" Klein laughed and said again, "But I did look for you, mainly to explore a few dreams. β
"Then you're not looking for the wrong person, that's my forte." Leonard cheekily nodded, then smiled again, "But I really didn't expect that you would actually see me with your original appearance, and you still have the mind to joke, not as gloomy as before." β
"Maybe it's because things have been going well lately, and it's not easy to lose your heart when you are yourself occasionally." Klein replied.
"It's good. You say you want to explore dreams, so you should have a goal? Whose dreams? β
"A hundred years ago, a soldier of Rune, a nobleman of the Fourth Age, an ascetic of the Third Age, and an elf and a giant of the Second Age."
Leonard subconsciously raised his hand to pick his ears to make sure he wasn't having auditory hallucinations, but he was a spirit now, and Crane said so many things that he couldn't get every word wrong.
Leonard looked at his former colleague with a serious face in disbelief: "Wait, what? Who are you talking about? β
Klein repeated it again, and seeing Leonard still staring at him blankly, he couldn't help but smile and give the answer:
"Rest assured, the goal of our dreams is not a demigod, but only because of the influence of a special object, part of their consciousness has 'lived' to the present. I also wanted to discover the secret of that special item through my dreams, and that's why I thought of coming to you. β
"I thought you found an angel somewhere......" Leonard wiped his face, finally regaining some composure.
Crane continued, "That Quaternary nobleman is a member of the Zoroasd family, and you may be able to learn more about that angel through his dreams. β
"Hearing you say that, I'm looking forward to it."
"Don't tell him about it just yet, until we confirm the situation."
Leonard glanced at Klein and replied angrily, "I don't need you to remind me, I know I have to keep it secret." β
"Yes, it's much more reliable than before."
Leonard cleared his throat and sat up a lot more upright, and he raised his head high: "Hey, you're not alone!" I'll catch up with you someday, too. β
Klein nodded casually: "Really? I'll look forward to that day. Remember, get me a few drops of blood when you go back, it's a necessary preparation. β
"No problem."
Between Leonard's non-thinking answers, Klein seized on the unadulterated trust.
