Chapter 12: The Legacy

The moment Asther walked through the door, the spiritual instinct of the crow on her shoulder immediately reacted, and it quickly flew upward, the buzzing sound echoed around her, and the crow flapped its wings and circled at the top of the sea of light that floated out.

Esther was still standing behind the door, but the scattered spots of light were not driven by her.

Her silver-haired head looked up in the sea of light, but what was reflected in Esther's eyes was a silver-white river of different colors.

She drew these powers from the splashes of fate and made them alive in the spirit world, but the call of "fate" to them never stopped.

For Zoya, and for her, too, every time she entered the spirit realm, or peeked into that long river, Esther was fighting against the desire to "return".

She raised her right hand towards the group of points of light that were being pulled by the invisible force, and then slowly clenched it.

The stolen light had dyed her hair pale gold again, and the silver river that had faintly appeared in the spirit world also flowed past Esther's feet, returning to nothingness.

Esther secretly breathed a sigh of relief in her heart, in the "performance" of Klein's promotion, even though her consciousness was still asleep, she still grasped a little chance of fate, if it wasn't for the "stealer" charm that snatched it, it would have been her body that would have collapsed at this time.

Ladamanta had been floating quietly on the other side, unresponsive to any change in front of him, at least from its hollow eye sockets, no one could tell what emotion was:

"Remnant, you're not in a good place."

"Oh, I deserve it," Esther smiled lightly, raising her hand to catch the crow that had fallen again, "I should have returned to fate a long time ago, but I have been running away from it."

The crow's dark eyes flickered, but he didn't say anything.

It was only at this moment that Esther had time to take a closer look at her surroundings, and where Radamanta opened the door, there was a silent gray-white stone pillar, empty of any other underworld creatures.

Radamanta noticed that Esther was looking around, and even took the initiative to explain, "I don't think you would want to meet my people."

"Are there any other undead birds here?" The crow asked curiously, even Amon would not be so bold and wanton to explore the spirit realm, especially the underworld that had been affected by essentia and involved the hidden secrets of the undead birds.

Maybe there were a few clones who had explored here, at least the crow standing on Esther's shoulder didn't know that much about this place, it wasn't the main body.

The inhabitant of the underworld who was questioned shook his head, "I don't know, I rarely leave the area where I move. And the inside and outside of the underworld and the direction are all confused. Anyone who doesn't know how to get in here can be led to danger by the next door at any moment. When I say people, I only mean the undead who, like me, died in that calamity, but did not completely dissipate."

This topic is a bit esoteric, the death of the undead?

Esther and Raven exchanged a look, and remained silent.

The Ladamanta began to float forward, and Esther followed closely behind it, making sure that the direction of her movement landed where the Ladamanta passed, so as not to be swallowed by the "next door" that suddenly appeared.

The crow who was squatting on Esther's shoulder turned his head around, and did not see anything worthy of attention, and the spirit who led the way deliberately chose a very desolate and secluded place: "I remember that you couldn't touch the spirit world before, but the underworld can?"

Esther moved her fingers and observed her palm, and whenever a crack appeared, she would subconsciously clench her fist and spread it again, constantly stealing her own virtual state to maintain a stable entity:

"Now you can. However, this state is also limited, and if you are moving in the spirit realm, you should see a cloud of light mist by now......

"But we are in the underworld, in the city of the dead."

Radamanta suddenly turned around, "It's undead. We are not 'dead,' that is to distinguish us from the living."

The raven clearly lacked respect for the guide: "But there is a difference...

…」

But before it could finish its words, it was pressed by Esther's beak: "Okay, okay, it's a big difference."

The crow snorted from his nostrils, and instead of continuing to speak, he just broke Esther's hand away, "Because the foundation of the underworld is different from the spiritual world?"

"Calderon's cornerstone to be exact," Esther paused for two seconds, then suddenly changed to Rune's words, "that the undead are going to the end of their deaths."

"You know that very well." The crow looked at the Radamanta who continued to lead the way, "You know it well?"

"No, it was just a chance connection, and I have the benefits I can offer to Radamanta."

The crow's eyes narrowed, looking ill-intentioned, "If I'm not mistaken, it has the characteristics of a 'door' pathway."

"Don't be evil!" Esther's tone was instantly filled with chills.

Raven just chuckled at her reaction.

Reaching the end of the gray stone pillars, Ladamanta led Esther through the towering stone wall of the same color, and after passing through an arch made of skulls, Esther noticed that the scene around her suddenly changed, and the originally flat ground continued to collapse, forming a staircase leading to the ground, each step was made of bones, at least after they were dismantled, no one could recognize which race they belonged to.

Below the sleek and dust-free skeleton steps, there was only a cold black, stretching downward, but I didn't know where it led.

"It doesn't look safe."

Although she knew that Amon's doppelganger was always seducing information with nonsense, Esther had to agree with her casual feelings: "It's okay, at least my hunch is not dangerous."

Radamanta flicked its gorgeous tail feathers and floated first into the deep darkness, the dark blue flames around it dispelling the shadows slightly: "There will be no danger, we have a pact, the Remnant."

Esther quickly followed, "I know, it's scared."

"I don't care if I'll die here." The crow muttered quietly.

Although the flames were released, the help of the Radamanta was not effective, and after advancing deeper for more than ten meters, the light of the dark blue flames became dim, and finally covered by a cold darkness.

Esther's hair soon lit up with a little shaving, which made the crow look restless, and at her repeated requests, Esther had to hold it in her hand.

In the darkness, I don't know how long she fell, Esther suddenly stopped, as she stepped on solid flat ground.

The blue flames of the Radamanta lit up in the darkness for a moment, "This is it, this is where you want to go, Remnant."

A crack in a tumbling black cloud slowly tore at the end, and in the middle of it rushed thunder snakes lit up the darkness around them, and the roaring thunder resounded through the passage, shaking the bone staircase behind it.

"Please hurry, this will get noticed." Radamanta gave a friendly reminder, gently lowered her head, and waved her wings at the crack, in which the meaning of "sending off" was very obvious.

"Thank you."

Esther bowed back to Radamanta, then without hesitation, she stepped forward, hugged the indifferent crow, and stepped into the clouds of rolling lightning.
