Chapter Seventy-Six: A Strange Scene
Matteo looked at the rather calm sea in front of him, and didn't feel as nervous as the other two: "Captain, don't you have to continue proofreading the core of the Clover? Maybe it's too late for us to turn back now......
Aaron slapped himself on the forehead with a "snap" to lift his spirits, he was quite nostalgic for the last sip of Sunia's blood wine, and when he heard Mattio's question, the man who had the most connection with the ship just smiled bitterly and said:
"I'd like to, but this ship is so activated that it's a ghost ship with its own consciousness. The only way to regain complete control of her is to destroy her core...... And I can't do that kind of thing, maybe only Alexander can be ruthless."
Matteo glared at Aaron incredulously, "Why have we never heard of such an important thing?"
"Everyone knows about the princess's transformation, but I hid the results of the transformation from everyone." Aaron smiled nonchalantly, and there was a coldness in his eyes that made Mattio feel unfamiliar.
Matteo was silent for a few seconds and shook his head, "I'll tell Mr. Alexander, Thomas, and Mary—I mean, if I ever get back to land and see the others again."
"Your bad luck is heavy." Vika squinted at the burn scar on Aaron's face and muttered quietly.
"I know, I'm the 'Mage of Doom,' but it's not a bad thing right now."
Vika nodded, "Fate will flow to the right branch on its own."
Matteo felt that the conversation would go further to what he didn't understand, and he interrupted them in time: "What did you mention just now, 'net'? Fishing nets?"
"Bad omen."
Vika and Aaron said the word in unison, and then turned to the sea at the same time, with similar worries in their eyes, but Aaron's demeanor was calmer, obviously he had the demeanor of a perennial captain and the confidence of being a demigod extraordinary.
After all, the most important thing for the "fate" path is to believe that you will get through it – good fortune will lead to better results. It's not Aaron's code of play, it's just his own experience of dealing with fate.
Although it is said to be a "bad omen", Aaron keenly feels that the uncomfortable premonition does not come from the fate he is peeking on, but from Matteo and Vika.
After hearing the two say that they had encountered strange extraordinary, Aaron didn't remind them of this, and the current situation was strange, so Aaron was willing to trust the decision of the "Clover" itself.
Vika yawned, his shoulders loosely bandaged from the wound, and the bloodshot eyes and the untended stubble on his jaw made him look a little crazy:
"Is there really a spirit creature that can form a web of fate? This is beyond the influence of the world of absolute truth on reality, maybe I should ask that guy......
Aaron smacked his tongue, though he hadn't looked into it in depth, "Yo, you're actually from the School of Life?" I didn't expect Matteo to have such a friend."
Vika didn't like Aaron's spy-like tone, and just nodded silently.
"I don't remember much if we were friends," Matteo muttered quietly, "I have a very vague memory......
Before Aaron could say anything more, his expression suddenly changed, and he stared at the sea in front of him, where there was nothing.
Also slowly straightening up was Vika, just looking at the expression on his face, as if someone had just stuffed a live frog into his mouth. Mattio was the only one who didn't know why, so he could only follow the gaze of the two people.
At first, he didn't see anything, and Matteo had to squint his eyes and try harder. It didn't take long for Matteo to notice some kind of thin silver line floating on the surface of the sea—no, they were undulating with the surface, hiding themselves in the gap between the waves.
The silver threads seemed to be broken, and at first glance they were not connected to each other, but with Matteo they looked
Aware of their presence, it is noted that the segments are undulating at a coordinated frequency.
The word popped up again, and it was so clearly displayed before his eyes, "net", Mattio had thought it was just a code word for the mysteries of two "fate", but now it seemed that it was not some kind of metaphorical riddle, but actually referred to something real.
Hell, if there really was a web like this that would cover a large area of the ocean, what would it be to weave it together? A swarm of spiders about the size of a ship?
Thinking of this, Matteo shuddered, obviously when he was using a telescope to probe on the lookout, he didn't notice this anomaly in front of him at all:
"What the hell are those? If this continues, the Clover will crash headlong into it!"
Because Matteo was shouting, Vika also subconsciously raised his voice: "That's the 'net', the net that belongs to fate!"
It's just that in addition to fear, there is a strange excitement in his expression.
"Get down!"
As Aaron shouted, his hands pressed to his sides, holding Matteo and Vika's bodies down and falling down.
Matteo's head slammed into the deck, he was sure his forehead was rapidly swollen, and between Vika's wails, his nose was hurt again.
The three of them lay on the deck of the Clover, a green curtain of light arching from the hull and quickly covering them.
The whole ship shook violently, and the mast, which had just been repaired for less than a week, was making a strange "squeak" repeatedly, and the deck was jolting up and down, and the three people who were lying down seemed to be thrown into the pot and became fried fish that had been shaken repeatedly.
"Close your eyes." Aaron's voice was unusually hoarse as he uttered this, and he seemed to be enduring some great fear, or perhaps a spiritual temptation.
If Matteo had glanced at the captain at this time, he would have noticed that Aaron's eyes were covered with a pale golden film, blocking the silver light reflected in his eyes.
Matteo didn't know why, but after being on the Clover for so long, the importance of obeying the captain's orders was firmly engraved in his memory, so he endured the sharp pain in his forehead and lowered his head with his eyes closed.
And the more spiritual Vika didn't need to look up, or even open his eyes, something indescribable, crawling outside the barrier of the "Clover", constantly impacting the precarious protective shield, as if full of longing for life on this ship.
Even without looking at it, Vika could feel that the monster that made him tremble spiritually was watching him.
The buzzing sound beckoned him to look up, warning him never to, making it difficult for Vika to continue thinking in the confusion - only two warm streams of blood came from his nose
Emission.
In the end, he was left with only one thought: It's too unlucky, my nose won't collapse completely, right?
"It's spectacular."
When he heard this emotion, Matteo almost couldn't hold back his scolding, what kind of crisis is this, maybe the "Clover" will be destroyed in the next second, who is still in the mood to sigh "spectacular" here?
He realized that the voice didn't belong to Aaron or Vika.
Aaron rolled his eyes slightly, caught a glimpse of the corner of the black robe, and under the warning of his spiritual instincts, Aaron quickly withdrew his gaze and continued to stare at the green deck of the "Clover".
Just as he had a premonition of unease, there was still someone on board.
But after this man showed up and heard this man's strange emotion, Aaron was relieved - at least they could live a little longer.
