Chapter 603: The Beginning of the Action (Asking for a Monthly Pass at the End of the Month)
Colonel Martinez seemed to want to insist, but was blocked back by Jason's words, "You said listen to my dispatch, didn't you?" β
There was nothing to argue about, the Mexicans took out a satellite map, and Lieutenant Lopez, who had grown up in Depro and was familiar with every brick and tile of the place, held a pen and explained while marking the key terrain on it.
Moments later, the members of Team B stood behind Captain Jason and Vice-Team Ray Perry, and whispered to each other.
Jack still likes this military style, although there are arguments and disagreements, but once the goal is established, everyone stops talking nonsense and works together to achieve the goal.
"A densely populated 'little village' where it's hard to distinguish friend from foe, like we experienced in Afghanistan, right?" Jason muttered to himself.
"Sounds pretty much the same, a roundabout sneak strategy?" Ray Perry, who was a partner, immediately understood what he was thinking.
"Take the vehicle to the nearest safety point possible, then walk to the target location, fight directly, clear house by house, and fast in and out?"
"That's right." Jason nodded in agreement, and the commander next to him, Major Eric Blackburn, laughed and teased, "It looks like you two guys have a tacit understanding enough to get married." β
"If that's the case, we're going to have to choose the vehicle carefully and get two inconspicuous cars?" Sonny Quinn, who was standing behind the two, said.
"It's not good for sedans, at least two seven-seater SUVs, the windows are filmed, and people can't notice inside." Jason shook his head in no.
"If Colonel Martinez and Lieutenant Lopez act with us, plus Jack, we can split into three groups and sweep two floors at the same time."
Colonel Martinez suddenly grimaced, "Actually, Lieutenant Lopez will not be involved in this raid. β
Jason was slightly stunned, as if he hadn't heard clearly, "Sorry, what did you say?" The other team members also looked puzzled, the colonel can participate, is there anything special about this lieutenant?
Lieutenant Lopez's face flushed slightly, and he was a little embarrassed, "I went out from Depro, and many people there are familiar with me, and they don't even need to see my face. β
"The profession of a soldier is inherently dangerous, and everyone here, including everyone, is risking their lives." Clay Spencer said with some unhappiness.
Everyone works with their heads pinned to their belts, and besides, this guy is a local, familiar with the terrain, and is the most suitable guide, but he actually escaped?
"Lopez is not involved in this operation, that's my request." Colonel Martinez stressed again.
"Well, then I don't want him to listen to our battle plan here." Jason threw away the pencil in his hand and leaned back, looking at the other with contempt in his eyes.
"You doubt me?" Lieutenant Lopez's face, which had been slightly flushed, became even redder, unlike before, he was enraged by this contemptuous attitude.
"Of course, I don't trust you, after all, it's hard to trust a soldier who refuses to fight, isn't it?" Jason's tone was calm, as if he was simply stating a fact.
Lieutenant Lopez stood up angrily, staring at Jason with fierce eyes, but before he could make his next move, he was grabbed by Colonel Martinez.
"Lopez," Colonel whispered something in Spanish, and only Jack was there to hear him, "Don't be impulsive, think about your family."
Persuading the enraged lieutenant to leave the room, Colonel Martinez rounded up, "Lopez is a good soldier, just a little grumpy, let's continue." β
"Let's talk about the rules of engagement." Jack, who was not even a soldier, remained silent because it involved specific combat deployments, after all, professional people should be allowed to do professional things, and finally at this time he opened his mouth to break the somewhat embarrassing atmosphere.
He had already roughly guessed Jason's thoughts, and he didn't approve of him using this agitation method, but since it was already like this, he couldn't expect a group of American GIs to understand the situation of these Mexicans for a while, so he could only talk to Jason afterwards.
"Don't fire first." The commander, Major Eric Blackburn, replied.
Time passed slowly in the words of everyone, and half an hour later, the combat meeting ended, and all kinds of arrangements were arranged.
A total of six members of Team B, plus Colonels Jack and Martinez, will be involved in the operation, and Major Blackburn will be in the command center, and he will cooperate with the operation by drone with Lisa Davis, a logistics support officer, and Mandy Ellis, a CIA intelligence officer.
The action was scheduled for an hour later, and at the end Colonel Martinez made a brief closing remarks.
"We don't know how many people Doza can muster in Depro, but it's not much worse to think of it as an enemy-occupied area, and once we get in, anyone, anywhere, including women and children, can kill us.
Once someone is left alone, the consequences speak for themselves, so be careful, my soldiers will be deployed as a rapid reaction force, outside of Doza's territory, and reinforcements will not arrive in more than 20 minutes at most, is it clear? β
"No problem, just do it." Jason stood up and motioned for the team to prepare.
ββ
"These Mexican Marine Corps uniforms are nothing short of tights." In the underground parking lot, Sonny Quinn complained as he struggled to adjust his crotch.
"That's it, Sonny, the Mexican government doesn't want to see us running around the city in U.S. uniforms." Vice-captain Ray Perry carefully checked the engines of the two SUVs.
"There's a good side to everything, at least this uniform highlights your amazingly big ass." Clay Spencer tucked the spare weapon into the trunk and teased with a smile.
"Wow, I think I've heard someone seem to be jealous of my stiff glutes." Sonny deliberately cocked his ass towards a rookie.
"Wait, why is a fat ass standing in my way?" Jason, who had just descended to the parking lot, kicked up without saying a word.
"Gentlemen, it looks like you're in good spirits, keep your eyes open, grab your weapons, and my men will lead the way for you to get ready to go." Colonel Martinez, who led two of his subordinates down the stairs from the other side to the parking lot, greeted the group.
He is also fully armed in middle age, but the body armor is very embarrassing and can only cover half of his huge beer belly, which looks a little funny.
"It looks like we're not going to be alone today." Jack, who was about to get into the car, suddenly stopped and looked in the direction where Colonel Martinez had just arrived.
Everyone followed his gaze and saw Lieutenant Lopez with a straight face, carrying an AR-15 assault rifle, fully armed like everyone else, walking towards this side.
"Are you sure you want to participate?" As he stood in front of him, Colonel Martinez asked in Spanish with a serious expression as he stared into his eyes.
"This is my war, too, Colonel." Lieutenant Lopez, with a look of generosity to death, gave a military salute to the commander.
"It's good to see you change your mind." Seeing that his agitation method had an effect, Jason also changed his previous aggressive attitude and showed a friendly side.
Lieutenant Lopez didn't say anything more, just nodded solemnly to him.
Everyone got on the bus and set off, it was almost evening at this time, perhaps because it was located on the plateau, although it was already sunset, but the sun was still a little dazzling.
Two old-looking, nondescript Nissan SUVs drove across the potholed asphalt road, and the closer you got to Depro, the worse the road condition became.
Turning the corner of the street, there is a clearly religious building, which is a church school, but the façade is also plastered with Doza's propaganda posters.
"Is Doza still a teacher in a church school?" Jason spoke sarcastically.
"He donated money to the school, and the priest dared not accept it, or tore the poster off, and the next moment someone would rush into the school and stick a 9mm bullet in his head." Lieutenant Lopez replied with a blank face.
There was also a dark green painted police car parked next to the school, and knowing that it had entered the Depro range, Clay Spencer was a little strange, "I thought the chaotic place you said was forbidden to the police." β
"The federal police and the military are off-limits, but drug dealers also need people to maintain order, and don't be surprised when these local police shoot at you, they are all paid to do things."
The thought of Matt Graffer who died at the hands of those corrupt cops makes Jack quite sad.
"To be honest, I'm getting more and more curious about what happened to you the last time you came to Mexico." Jason gossiped.
"You can just ask your CIA girlfriend, haven't you worked together for years? She's definitely seen the report. Jack grinned wickedly.
"Hey! Don't talk nonsense, if it gets to Alana's ears, you're going to be a bastard. Jason was a little annoyed.
"Don't make a fuss, be on alert, we're almost there." Ray Perry, who was sitting in the passenger seat, gave a reminder and then contacted the rear in the communication channel.
"Operations Center, this is B2, has passed the Black Labrador, got it?"
The whole battle plan is divided into 6 phases, each with a number of dog names to refer to, the black Labrador represents the arrival of the final safety point, the next step is called the Golden Retriever, which refers to the target building that can already be visually seen, and the Pitbull who breaks into the target building.
