Chapter 3: A Peculiar Village
The wind blew through the rocks, and the deadly slave traders lay on the ground.
Andy freed the slaves and severed their bonds.
"Thank you so much!"
The slaves were so grateful to Andy.
Andy couldn't help but feel compassion when he looked at their embarrassed appearance, these people were dressed in wisps, yellow and thin, and there were many scars and stains on their bodies.
"How did you get caught?"
The man at the head had a sad expression on his face.
"I came from a settlement in the west, and one day a man said he knew a good job was looking for someone and asked me to apply, but I went and was blocked and arrested by a group of people...... Forced all the way here. ”
The man held up his hemp arms, which were covered in scars.
"Those guys will beat up anyone who wants to run away or resist, and I've seen people beaten to death.... Even if they don't resist, it's miserable, they are dragged out to trade all day long, and after several turnovers, every day they either don't have to eat or eat something that is difficult to swallow, and some people get sick and die. ”
As they spoke, the other slaves wept as well.
Andy gave them a little food and water.
"What are you going to do next? Where were they going to take you? ”
One woman gobbled up and said, "I don't know, but I heard before that they were going to continue north.... Go to a dark place or something and sell us... I.... I don't know where to go, it's too far from my hometown..."
Eventually, Andy informs them that there will be people heading south, and tells them to loot the bodies of the dead slave traders and go to Crosstown to see if they can make a living.
After leaving the poor group, Andy looked at the map of the Pip-Boys, which indicated that the location of the destination was Blackfoot Village, which was not far to the north..... Since the slave traders were transporting slaves to that village, it means that slavery is still practiced in Blackfoot Village, and I don't know what it will look like.
Re-prepared and back in the car, Andy didn't think much of it and continued to head north.
After another half a day, the terrain in front of me changed drastically again.
Some moderately sloping, wide, flat slopes appeared in the distance, and a broken asphalt road was still there, leading from the base of the hill to the top of the hill. In the middle of the hillside sit man-made structures that look like improvised fences made of dirt, stone, scrap metal, and garbage. Inside the fence there are also a number of jumbled buildings, some of which look like old buildings left over from before the war, and some of which are supposed to be broken shacks built by themselves in the back.
The broken asphalt road went up from the foot of the hill to the unidentified settlement enclosed by a simple fence, where the road and the settlement intersected, and where the wall had an opening, but this opening had a door.... It's not a gate in the traditional sense, though.
If Andy is not mistaken, what serves as the gateway to this settlement appears to be a scrapped bus.
"Looks like we've arrived at our destination..."
Andy looked left and right, parked his car in the middle of nowhere, and continued on foot.
The uphill climb is always a bit difficult, but it's not much of a test for Andy. As he got closer to the settlement, Andy found that the location of the settlement was very particular. This area is relatively open, and the settlement can be found in the middle of the long hillside in front of you to get a very good view, and it is also a good place to defend and difficult to attack once the enemy attacks.
Judging from the faintly visible remnants of the pre-war buildings and some of the leveled ground, this was probably some kind of facility before the war.
A rusty, shabby street sign fell aside, and Andy leaned over to take a look, and saw that it was an advertisement for a resort or something... The terrain beneath your feet would have been a ski resort in winter, and it would have been a good resort, but now it is no longer the elegant dignitaries who live there, but a group of barbarians.
[Prisoner 13045 is likely to be in this area]
There was a sound from the beep boy, and the information of the first target person had already been hinted at.
As Andy approached, several shouts suddenly came from above.
"Stop, what are you? What for? ”
Looking up, there were some observation holes at the top of the three-meter-high fence near the top of the buses that served as gates, and it was now obvious that someone had noticed his arrival from behind, believing that those observation holes could be used not only to see outsiders, but also to shoot. Because just a short distance from Andy there was already a barrel sticking out of a hole.
If hostile, it is difficult for a normal weapon to attack those hiding behind, while conversely, they can use their guns to shoot at random from the holes.
Andy raised his hands to show that he had no ill intentions.
"I just want to do some business!"
After thinking about it for a while, Andy found that he had no other excuse.....
After shouting, the scene was quiet for a while.
Just when Andy began to wonder if the other party would never open the door, the scrapped bus that served as the gate suddenly moved, slowly opening a gap for one person to enter and exit.
The way it was opened was very primitive, Andy watched as a few dark-skinned and muscular guys pushed the bus to move with their hands, and those people were wearing some bone decorations, and some very tribal oil paint, dressed in a mix of linen and fur....
A sturdy male tribesman with a pouting mouth and a serious face walked out, holding an iron-barreled rifle in his hand, thinking that these weapons should be considered the top weapons of the tribe.
The hair on the top of his head was long, dense, coiled in a strange ball, with some unexplained ornaments tied to it, and Andy could tell that there were thorns that seemed to be the same strange plant like the piranha flower he had seen earlier, as well as things like lizard's claws, most notably his feet, which were completely blackened by some kind of black dye.
Andy thought to himself, he finally knew why this tribe was called Blackfoot.
The black-footed native who came out, who might have been in charge of security, observed Andy, and his face softened slightly.
"Why did you come to Blackfoot Village? Aren't you afraid of us, outsiders? ”
Andy thought for a moment and replied, "Although I have heard of the prestige of the Blackfoot tribe for a long time, I think that the Blackfoot people are also reasonable and respectful of strength and wisdom. ”
While saying this, Andy quietly took out the pistol with one hand, and if the situation was not right, he could only use V mode to try to take a hostage first.
The Blackfoot Guard haha, seemed to agree.
"Yes, people out there are saying we're horrible, but that's only because they don't know us well enough.... Of course, we respect strength and wisdom, otherwise how can we be the strongest tribe in Coronodo? You have the guts, few people dare to come here and ask to enter, except for those merchants who often do business with us, and since you look strong and not hostile, then you are welcome to come in and have a look. ”
He leaned sideways and held out a hand to guide Andy in.
As Andy walked towards the gap that had been pushed open, Blackfoot Village appeared in front of him.
