Chapter 48: Tonics

A brain-controlled robot that had been destroyed by Andy was trimmed and dragged to the front of the think tank. After a small manipulation by String and Dr. Goddard, the brain was caught by a robotic arm and sent to a sealed device.

He was sealed in a tempered glass container along with a portion of the biogel, followed by a nerve grafting to the brain.

After a series of operations, one

The "brand-new" brain-controlled robot is here. It looks like two rows of tracks and two mechanical tentacle arms were attached to an iron bucket, and then a brain container was inserted into it.

With the final boot command, the robot raised its head and began to move slowly, and the electronic eyes wandered for a moment before staring at Dr. Goddard.

"You slave master!" The first words of the brain regaining its body were such grief and indignation.

"How can you treat me like this?" Dr. Goddard was unmoved.

"Is it also a sin to drive animals? I don't think you're a human being.... You dehumanized creature don't deserve human rights, now.... After a short celebration of your departure from the glass tank, plunge into the great cause of saving all mankind! Otherwise—" The brain cowered and rolled its tracks back.

Xian looked at him, frowning, there seemed to be something wrong with Dr. Goddard's state. ............ The new addition to the big dome quickly piqued the interest of others, and Paul, Donald, and James exchanged some scientific knowledge with the brain.

"You said that if you make a small adjustment to this part, can you greatly improve your strength and endurance in a short period of time?" Paul holds a slice and points to a section.

"Some drugs might be able to do that," James gestured as he smoked a cigarette in his sunglasses, as if he was familiar with the subject.

"It's just that the scene was a little ugly after that." He paused for a moment, as if recalling something bad.

"It's ugly," Donald thought of something he had seen in the Big Dome's database.

"I remember this kind of research in the Old World, where a small implant was used to make special adjustments to the brain, to have a series of specialized effects on the human body over a long cycle." The brain seems to know something about this.

"That thing... Believe me, it's a pointless failure, we have invested so much, and we have all ended up in a mess. Andy, passing by, was bored reading an Old World Science Magazine from the corner of the Great Dome, which appeared to be a graphic introduction to a series of advanced weapons.

A soldier gives the standard military salute, wearing a handsome suit of power armor and carrying a helmet in one hand.

The accompanying text on the side reads: SA's latest powerful equipment, the potential of the t60 power armor.

Some parameters of a professional nature are listed, followed by a comparison of paper data with the old equipment.

Andy glanced twice, and then turned another page. On this page, a soldier in power armor carries two oddly shaped weapons that appear to be some kind of high-tech heavy pistol with a liquid that emits a strong fluorescent green liquid.

The muzzle of this pistol is not a hole, but a needle-like structure, and it also appears to be equipped with a piggyback ammo box.

On the soldier's back was a large jar, which was also emitting a strong fluorescent green glow, and had tubes connected to the two pistols in front of him.

There was a burst of noise. Andy turned his head to look and saw that his brain was suddenly in a state of confusion. Everyone was taken aback, and soon found out that it was because of Dr. Goddard's arrival.

He looked gloomily at his brain.

"What happened to you what I asked you to do?" The brain rolls through the tracks and pulls up some data from the terminal next to it.

Dr. Goddard walked over for a moment, but walked away in silence without commenting.

Dr. Agnes seemed to sense something was wrong and chased after him. String walked over to the terminal and looked at it for a while, and Andy leaned over curiously, although the data in front of him was still a mosaic to him.

"Is the data comprehensive this time?" Andy asks as he chews on a packet of junk food he found in a cabinet.

"It's pretty comprehensive." Xian looked at it for a while, and commented on the brain's research results.

"But—" String frowned, she pulled back her sleeves, revealing some blue blisters on her arms.

"What is needed now is not theoretical, if we continue like this...", String's face was full of worry.

"There is almost nothing to be done with the R&D resources associated with the Great Dome, and even with these... I'm afraid we won't get an antidote either, did you mention earlier that you know of a pre-war facility that could have resources of this level? It's called..."

"Ahem, ahem!! - "A violent cough was heard, and everyone heard it.

The string immediately ran towards the source of the sound, Andy followed, and the group came around the corner of the corridor outside, where they saw Dr. Goddard leaning against the wall.

"Ahem-ahem-" Dr. Goddard covered his mouth, some blisters on his bald head ruptured, bleeding blue pus.

Dr. Agnes looked at him worriedly, and looked back at the crowd who had heard the noise.

"Dr. Goddard is a little unwell," she looked a little flustered, and the expressions on the faces of the other scientists were ugly.

Due to the current state of the Great Dome, the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Dome is a complex task that requires a considerable amount of technical ability, and only Dr. Goddard is currently the only scientist in this ability.

If Dr. Goddard falls ill, the scene is likely to go into the worst state. In addition, this may be a harbinger of the end of others, and the potency of Formula C may have reached its limit for the original new plague strain.

The disease is about to catch up with everyone. The brain doesn't really care about it.

"Looks like you need a doctor... Unfortunately, in my experience, that's not very promising. He gloated.

"Even in the past, it was a hopeless terminal illness, and I think you should think about what to do next, such as... Who's going to take over after that? Dr. Goddard's weakened and dejected face suddenly changed, and he stared at his brain.

He barely shook Dr. Agnes off and stood up straight, gritting his teeth and uttering words that made his brain fall into an ice cave.

"If I'm destined to die, then I'm sure I'm not going to make you feel better..! I recently found some interesting stuff in the database... You will feel many, many interesting things: you are about to pee out but you have to look for a toilet for months, you have been burned by flames for several years but you can't die at all, you are sleepy but you are repeatedly awakened by violence... This torture will go on forever and ever..."Dr. Goddard was like a dying beast, reaching out to get a little trembling close to his brain, forcing him back again and again.

"Wait, wait!" The brain screamed in panic.

"I think of one thing, maybe there's a way... It's still a palliative solution, but it's working for you right now! Everyone was stunned.

........... Scientists are surrounded by brains, and he is operating a robotic arm to input some formulas to get some results, and he is constantly explaining them to others.

"So, that's the last thing I was working on before I became like this, and I call it a tonic ointment, which is a more advanced drug that I've improved based on Formula C." The brain lifts its electronic eyes to look at other people.

"Theoretically, it can greatly delay the harm of the virus to the human body, even the most virulent first generation of strains, and continuous consumption of it can also get an inhibitory effect ranging from one month to several months..."

"The only problem is that it hasn't had time to be completely finished." Xian's face changed as he looked at the data.

"There have been no clinical tests at all, and the materials are so scarce..... "The brain shrugged

"Shoulder".

"There's no better choice, is there? It's better to gamble than to die. Dr. Agnes seemed to have this idea, and she made a decision after simply communicating with her brain.

"We're going to start working on the tonic right away, preferably with a recipe to make it mass-produced, and according to Andy, the new plague is now raging in the wasteland... This may alleviate the situation. Dr. Agnes thought of Dr. Goddard, who was already sick and bedridden, and had to send him to the freezer, which would soon make it impossible for the Great Dome to continue.

Perhaps the Dome is now humanity's last hope for victory over the new plague, and it must not be extinguished.
