Chapter 15: Walk away

Inside the large white dome, several people are busy. Boxes of encapsulated supplies were packed up in the middle of a hall where there used to be an indoor fountain for ornamentation, but it had dried up due to disrepair and was now filled with various glove boxes.

Andy walked slowly over with two large boxes of things in his arms, and then placed them on the ground with a heavy lift.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead and looked back to see a few gleaming silver robots waddling and hugging and tugging on checked weights, all of which were small helpers that Dr. Donald had repaired and reprogrammed.

"It's almost enough, my car can't hold anything more, it's enough to have these supplies." String was holding a notebook to write and draw on, and Paul and James were tugging together on a large suitcase that was black and shimmering with metal, and even had a combination lock.

"Plus this.... That's enough. String tapped the notebook with the oil-based pen in her hand, then tossed the two aside, glancing at the mountain of things with satisfaction, making sure they were what she needed for the rest of her journey.

"You can't go wrong with bringing more, if we fail by bringing less things, then these things don't mean anything to us anymore, do they?" Andy looked at her and didn't say anything more, and it was already very surprising that the strings agreed to accompany him to find the antidote, anyway, if these things really can't be stuffed, you can hide some with the Pip-Boy, although it may not be useful after everyone works together to upgrade the load for the Atomic Humvee..... Other than that.... He squinted in the other direction, where a brain-controlled robot was stuffing some nuclear colas into a metal box, and he had already brought two boxes of them, but he didn't seem to think it was enough.

At first, Andy didn't want to take him out of the Dome to go somewhere else, but after Tankbrain questioned why Andy took a useless pet dog to an unknown place on an important mission to save the world, he couldn't lie to himself anymore.

Dog meat, that is, the former demon, is now almost 0 combat power, if faced with some dangers like the previous one, it is difficult to deal with itself, this dog is not only unable to help now, but may die at will.

The space of the car is so large, in the case of a full load of goods, Andy can only bring two partners, and this is under the premise that the tank brain is a robot and is not as demanding as humans.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" The sensitive electronic eye noticed Andy's wordless gaze, and immediately boasted again.

"Let me tell you, I've found another good thing recently, but it's a bit too early to tell you, I'll show you on the way, so that you can see what I'm capable of, hehehe..."

...................... It was nearly noon, everything was moved to Andy's Atomic Humvee and secured, the strings were given the co-pilot's position, and the cylinder brain was huddled with the cargo, although he complained that it limited his vision, but this was not taken seriously.

Standing at the door of the big dome, Andy looked at the pre-war scientific research base like a big white egg in front of him, and always felt that time flew by.

Helen and her children thank Andy for his help, and Eddie brings the good news that the lives of the people in Dog City are improving.

Dr. Agnes looked at Paul, who was talking to her, although her face looked happy, and there seemed to be a faint doubt in the depths of her eyes, she turned to look for Donald to confirm her thoughts, but the guy disappeared again, and as expected, he went to the lab again.

James leaned down to the car door and took off his sunglasses.

"String, looks like you're going out on an adventure, isn't it? Actually, I also miss the days when we were here and we were together, in fact, the reason why I was like that was because ....." strings made a move not to continue.

Andy checked the car one last time, then said goodbye to the people who had stayed at the Dome and started the car, kicking up the dust on the ground with a violent force and driving down the uneven road towards the west of the Dome.

String had now changed his outfit, wearing a brown trench coat on the upper body, a hood on his head, and a pair of sturdy and plain gray pants and a pair of leather boots on the bottom.

Andy took a look, a little surprised.

"After you changed your clothes, you almost like a different person, from a scientist to a wasteland living in a wasteland." The string hummed casually and looked in the rearview mirror.

"Have you found a route?" Andy lifted the beep-boy as he controlled the car slowly moving forward, and there was a route being drawn on it.

"Pip-Boy can point us in the general direction of our progress, maybe the specific route is not that detailed, but I think as long as we go all the way to that river, we are halfway there. It will lead us to the spillout of that nursery... And then we'll have to.."

"Drill into the sewers?" The sound of the cylinder brain came from behind.

"You can put it another way, don't you..." The two of them sat in the car for a day and a night, and the journey was all deserted, the area was severely affected by the aftermath of the nuclear bomb that fell in the northeast before the war, the vegetation was not lush, and there were some Gobi deserts and backwater puddles walking around.

In the distance, there were vague and towering shadows, the mountains of the north, which had stood motionless since before the war, as if they had been guarding some secret.

"The environment up there seems to have changed a little, hasn't it?" The sound of the cylinder brain came from the roof of the car, because after several protests, he offered to fix himself to the roof of the car and act as a scout, although this looks very strange on the outside, but this guy is not afraid of colds and will not get tired, and the electronic eye is indeed very useful.

Andy patted his face to dispel the sleepiness, the group had already rested twice on the road, but long-term driving was still unbearable, maybe it should be a little longer, but time waits for no one.

The time that the tonic paste buys is precious, and the sooner you arrive at the nursery, the sooner you can hope. The string beside her had been asleep for a long time, and she had been doing some work before she left the Great Dome, as if she would feel at ease when it was done, and now she was completely asleep until she lost consciousness as soon as she was on the road.

"I haven't even crossed half the way." Looking at her sleeping face, Andy, who didn't want to wake her up, didn't say much, but the next second, when he turned his gaze to the front, suddenly there was a shout from the roof of the car.

"Look ahead~! Someone unknown appeared. Andy fixed his eyes and saw that there were indeed about seven or eight natives in the right front looking at this side vigilantly, wearing some armor made of animal leather and scrap metal, holding a mess of different weapons in their hands, wolf-like eyes full of vigilance, and swarthy faces with fierceness.

As the distance between the two sides continued to close, Andy could still notice that there were about five or six people in the middle of the group.

The five or six men were tied with ropes and their hands were connected together, apparently not voluntarily.

A few ferocious barks rang out, and it was the group of dogs, their blood-red eyes fixed on the car Andy was driving, and the spit in their mouths splashed into the air with the barking.

String was awakened by the sound, and then noticed the peculiar situation in front of him. On the left is a small roadblock, and on the right is a black muddy lake, which should be filled with highly radiated poisonous water from experience.

In this case, it becomes inevitable that the two sides will meet each other on a narrow road, if Andy still wants to move forward as soon as possible instead of waiting where he is.

"Hey, what's going on with you primitives?" The tank didn't care about that, and yelled at the natives.

The sudden speech startled the natives, who pointed their fingers at the rope-fastened tank on the roof of the car, unable to understand why the creature was making a sound, because it didn't look like it was human.

Several war dogs became more and more frantic because their owners were behind them, and they swarmed up to try to stop the car, but when they got closer, they were frightened back, and then followed all the way to the side of the car, showing full of aggression.

Andy frowned, he didn't want to waste time entangled with these fierce natives, he would rather rush over if he could.

But the other party obviously doesn't think so. With a wave of his arm from the guy with tire armor on his shoulder and face covered in unknown black paint, a young native suddenly appeared on the boulder next to him, and he stretched out his hand and pushed something down.

It was scrap metal wreckage and a huge rib fan of a two-headed cow, and the debris was angular and bulky, forming a barricade blocking the road in an instant.
