Chapter 16: Water Horror
"What's there?" Miloro held out his arm to stop Andy, and pulled out the dagger with his other hand, and no one could know what was under the taut thread, unless it jumped out.
The knife flew out and hit the line with precision, breaking one in two. The rod rolled down to the deck making some noise and it seemed as if nothing was happening.
The two looked at each other. The greenish water churned as the ship moved forward, and the guy who took the bait seemed to be just an ordinary trash fish, probably....
"Looks like you're overly nervous, I guess it's still the same fish." Andy waved his hand to signal Miloro not to continue looking at the fishing rod, since the bald head had been fishing in such a reckless way for so long without being eaten by any monster, it also proved that the probability of a greater danger was not much.
The two returned to the wheelhouse to meet the captain, at this time Kant and the others were in a hurry because they were not familiar with the operation panel of the ship, although the engine was restarted after getting the password, but everyone was just an ordinary caravan accustomed to walking on the ground, and they knew nothing about driving a ship.
"This should be open." Kant pressed a button.
"And thenโ" There was a buzzing sound coming from below, obviously not quite normal.
"Isn't it right?" Adich was a little frightened, he always felt that Kant was not very reliable, and if he didn't make a mistake if he overturned the ship, he didn't mention the list, and the lives of several people would have to be explained in these filthy poisonous waters.
"I say, if you don't get that bald head and force him to the shore with a gun, don't be so casual, our lives are in your hands..."
"What if not? We can't stay here forever, and that bald bastard, if we give him control of the ship, do you think he'll do something crazy? I think I've got a little bit of an idea, it's a little different, but I've been driving for a few days..."Dimason didn't talk much, and she didn't seem to like the noisy atmosphere either, so she covered herself tightly with her white hood as usual, and then left the cab to go outside to blow the air.
Andy stood by and watched them mess around, and although he hadn't sailed a boat either, he had a good helper.
[Boat driving mode can be activated after turning on V mode] [Auxiliary function reset completed] After being fully prepared, Andy stopped Kant who was about to shake the joystick rashly.
"Actually, I'll sail." Several people suddenly fell silent and looked at Andy with surprised eyes. Before the men with implicit doubts could be explained, a shrill scream came from the deck, and it was inferred from the sound that it could have been from Dimason, who had just walked out.
Kant no longer bothered to operate the instrument and rushed out of the wheelhouse with the gun and ran towards the deck, Milolo and Andy followed closely behind, and Andy's first guess was that the bald head who had just been thrown into the bilge ran out.
Although the ropes had been ensured to be strong enough, after all, this was his ship, and no one could match the bald head in terms of familiarity.
But when he got out, he knew it was something else. A two-meter-tall gray humanoid monster was standing on the deck, its skin was like black ooze, with a row of slender fins growing in the middle of its back, and a long tail dragging on it.
The screaming Dimathan was already unconscious in the corner, blood oozing from her forehead, the hood on her head was gone, and the face that leaked out was all the marks of burns or burns, and it was no wonder that she had been hiding all this time, and at first glance she looked like a miserable-looking ghoul.
Kant was already mad with anger, he desperately raised his submachine gun and opened fire, and a shuttle of bullets instantly hit the monster's body, and blood splattered everywhere.
The monster was pained and immediately turned back, and Andy saw that it had a strange fish face, the black greasy skin on the face was loosely prolapsed, and it had a large mouth, and even a few short whiskers on it, and a pair of gray eyeballs protruding from the surface of the body, but it was small compared to its huge body.
"What? Is this a catfish? Miloro couldn't believe his eyes as he looked at the monster's sharp claws, webbed forelimbs between its fingers, and its bulging chest and upper limb muscles.
Whatever the monster was, it had been caught by Kant's angry shooting, and the gray eyes on the ugly fish's face showed viciousness and brutality, so the huge monster quickly approached him with Kant's submachine gun design, and then slapped him away.
The sharp claws instantly tore several bloody cuts into Kant's body, and he was tumbled by the tremendous force and fell into Lake Mead, disappearing without a trace after a wave.
Everything happened in the blink of an eye, and Andy and Milolo had no chance to stop it, or maybe they had to worry more now about whether they would be next.
The small, gloomy and vicious eyes turned to Andy and Milolo, the monster's prolapsed ugly skin seemed to protect against bullets beyond imagination, and the 10mm bullets that Kant had strafed at it didn't seem to be effective in causing any damage, leaving only a large number of small dimples like spots.
The thick skin does not bounce off the bullet, but it absorbs the kinetic energy of the bullet, and it heals quickly from bleeding wounds.
It grinned wide, and the dense fangs and filthy mouth inside were exposed to the air, creating a dizzying stench, but what was even more terrifying was the thick tongue that struck the two of them like lightning, it was a strip of black-red muscle thicker than a human waist, and it was stained with stinking saliva.
The tongue swept over, Andy rolled and dodged, and Milolo was directly slapped into the back cab, although there was no way to go in and check, but guess he could guess that he was afraid that he would have smashed on the metal console, because there was a loud noise from inside, which sounded like a toothache and probably indicated that one of Andy's teammates was once again incapacitated.
"Gollum......" The ugly monster let out a low strange sound from its throat, and rushed directly towards Andy without any mud and water, the sharp claws rubbing against the metal deck made a loud sound, and the terrifying muscles made this monster that had lived underwater for a long time walk like flying on the ship.
Before he had time to think about it, Andy turned on the V mode and used the two pistols in his hand to shoot repeatedly. [Lake Monster] [Suspected Longfin Catfish] 10mm bullets and red lasers continue to hit monsters, and the bullets are still as ineffective as ever, but those lasers don't look like this, and the place hit by the laser instantly becomes shriveled.
One of the lasers hit the eye, causing the monster to lose its mind from the pain for a moment, clutching its wounds and kneeling on the ground and screaming.
Andy was in good spirits, and immediately picked up the self-charging pistol to mend the knife, but the monster raised its head and stuck out its tongue again and swept over, this time Andy couldn't dodge, and the huge tongue hit him like a fast-moving wall of flesh, causing him to fly sideways and crash into a pile of debris.
With a thud, barrels and iron crates flew all over the deck. Dizzy, Andy struggled to crawl out of the clutter, and by the time he finally got up with his head shaky, the giant monster was gone.
It was then that he noticed two things, first that the ship had begun to move forward again, and then that Dimason, who had been unconscious in the corner, was gone.
Milolo staggered over and dragged Andy, whose legs were entangled in tattered fishing nets, out of the debris, and then Andy felt a tingling pain in his leg, and looked down to find that it was an iron hook that cut his leg, and the wound was very deep, and a lot of blood had flowed out at this time.
"Do you have any needles with you?" Andy nodded, took out a treatment needle and injected it, and some red glimmers appeared on his legs, which he knew was the fire phoenix subcutaneous armor that had been implanted in the Great Dome earlier.
Milolo was digging something, but stopped when he saw that Andy was not short of medicine and his injuries were stable.
"The situation couldn't be worse, Kant is probably dead, Dimason doesn't know where to go, I guess he was taken away by the monster. I hit Addison when I was knocked away just now, and his head hit the dashboard directly and he hasn't woken up yet, but coincidentally, I don't know what happened, the ship moved again, and the monster seemed to be frightened and fled.... I feel like I've got a broken rib. Andy endured the stinging pain in his legs and stood up and looked around, after some tossing, there were only four people left on the boat, not counting the captain who didn't know when he woke up and the bald head who was locked in the bilge, it was only the two of them, fortunately, the two-headed cow that was shivering in the corner was not led by the monster just now.
In another hour or two, it would be dark, and Andy didn't expect his first caravan escort mission to become what it is now in the blink of an eye.
"....." Milolo crouched on the ground and fiddled with his gas mask, and it looked like the tongue that had just been pumped had also broken the equipment on his face, and that's when Andy noticed the face under his hood.
The face was very ugly, almost crooked, and the flesh on it seemed to be smeared with double-headed beef ground on a grinding disc
The "mask" is like a mask, the nose disappears without a trace, leaving only a triangular hollow, and the red subcutaneous flesh is completely exposed to the air.
Milolo noticed Andy's gaze, and quietly changed his posture and turned his head.
"I'm sorry, I didn't tell you before, I hope it didn't scare you...."
"It's nothing, it's just a little surprising, I've dealt with a lot of ghouls, too."
"Yes." He stubbornly put on his loose gas mask again, though it didn't make sense anymore.
