Chapter 678: "Strong" Nepal (Part I)

PS: There was a bug in the last chapter, I got the number of Jews wrong, and it was counted as small. So the number of Jews in Judeo-Gujarat should be 7 million, and the number of Gujarati should be 12 million......

..................................................................

The Indian subcontinent is currently one of the most densely populated regions in the world.

Marat has a population of more than 100 million, Pakistan 35 million, Mysore 19 million, Odisha 19 million, Judeo-Gujarat 19 million, Karnati 17 million, Tamil 13 million and Bengal-Gypsy 4 million. Sri Lanka has a population of about 1.8 million. Together with Nepal's 10 million people, the total population of the countries of the subcontinent was about 240 million before World War II.

In this area of less than 3.3 million square kilometers, 240 million people are crowded. In fact, in the history of the original plane, this population number was even higher, close to 400 million. The original plane is because of the Spanish flu, World War I and the subsequent colonial independence movement, which has been tossed for nearly ten years, so the population has shrunk significantly compared to the original time and space.

But it hasn't stopped for a few years now, and this hot land has begun to make noise again.

There is no way, there are too many contradictions in this land, all kinds of contradictions of ethnicity, religion, class, as long as you can imagine social contradictions, you can find them here.

Some of these contradictions are problems left over from history, and some of them are deliberately created by "I, the British," in order to facilitate the rule. In the past, it was good that Britain was pressing, but now Britain is unable to protect itself, where can it still be suppressed? Coupled with the operation of some well-intentioned people, this powder keg has exploded.

Originally, this war was just an internal strife in nine states in India, but now Nepal, which has watched the excitement for a long time, finally can't help it and ends.

Of course, this is not to say that Nepal is not looking for trouble. Since its founding, the Democratic Republic of Nepal has been at odds with the British and Indian authorities. The contradiction between the two has been a long history, and the main problem is the legacy of the Sacgorian Treaty. You know, now, including the later generations of the original time and space, the map of Nepal we see has actually been cut down, and the rectangular territory is actually only one-third of their original territory, and the rest of the territory was cut off by this "Treaty of Sagoli".

In 1814, the Anglo-Indian Governor Hastings launched the Anglo-Nepalese War, known to the British as the Gurkha War, in order to seize the Gangetic Plain region of Nepal. At that time, the British army concentrated 24,000 troops, equipped with modern guns, and invaded Nepal in five ways. Nepal turned to China for help, and on the other hand, it gathered an army of 12,000 troops to respond to the battle. The war was raging, with both sides suffering heavy losses, and in the end Nepal was defeated by being outnumbered and Chinese reinforcements did not arrive.

After the war, Nepal was forced to sign the unequal Treaty of Sargoli, ceding two-thirds of its territory to India. But the brutality of the war also shook Britain and gave up its intention to continue conquest by force.

Shortly after the war, King Gilda died of smallpox and was succeeded by his youngest son, Eugendra, at the age of 2, and ruled by Queen Mother Lalita and Prime Minister Bhim Sen Tapa. In order to regain lost territory, abolish unequal treaties. Prime Minister Bhim began Nepal's first modernization reforms. To deal with the British, Bhim contacted France, the sworn enemy of the British. With the help of the French, Nepal built a modern military factory, reformed the military system, and vigorously developed trade and established industry. Naturally, however, all this was hated by the British, who, at their instigation, were murdered by his political rival, Rana Chung of the Bander family. After Bhim's death, Nepal was plunged into civil strife.

But the British were not reassured, and they finally chose the Gurkha soldier Chung Bahadur Rana as their agent. In 1846, Jonge Bahadur Rana staged a coup d'état, killing more than 400 prime ministers, generals and ministers, seizing real military and political power, proclaiming himself prime minister, deposing King Eugendra and setting up King Surendra as a puppet. Since then, the Rana family has been the hereditary prime minister, and the military dictatorship has lasted for more than 70 years. During this period, the Rana family pursued a policy of ignoring the people at home and faithfully obeying British imperialism externally, resulting in social stagnation and economic backwardness in Nepal, which gradually became a British protectorate.

Nepal was in ruins throughout its history, and the Rana family ruled until the 50s, and then the political turmoil did not subside until the beginning of the 21st century.

On the plane, Nepal's history has taken a turn because of the intervention of Bundehei. Since its establishment in 1910, the Nepal People's Party, which is supported by China, has vigorously developed at the grassroots level. After the outbreak of World War I, the BJP, which had developed into the strongest force in Nepal, launched an armed uprising in September 1918, overthrowing the military dictatorship of the Shah dynasty and the Rana family.

On 8 October, the leader of the Nepal People's Party, Jirija Chanda, announced the deposition of the monarchy and the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Nepal with scientific socialism. On October 12, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it recognized the regime and established diplomatic relations with it.

The newly-born Democratic Republic of Nepal, with China's vigorous assistance, carried out a social revolution from top to bottom, and at the same time, economic construction was also flourishing under the guidance of Chinese experts. Nepal is extremely rich in mineral resources, especially copper, which is most scarce in China, with reserves of 18 million tons, as well as more than 200 million tons of magnesite, more than 4 million tons of lead ore, and a world-class super-large uranium mine. Other mineral deposits aside, just these few items are enough for Wen Desi to spend his blood to support them.

So after the new regime was established, the whole of Nepal changed dramatically in ten years. From a country of abject poverty and civil strife, it has become a powerful small power. By the time of World War II, Nepal had established a modern standing army of 120,000 and an air force of 30,000, as well as a very complete reserve system, and if the general mobilization was implemented, they could pull out more than 800,000 troops.

Moreover, this army uses a full set of Chinese-style equipment, and its scientific and technological level and performance are in no way inferior to the main armies of other top powers, and even the colonial troops of the British and Indian authorities.

As the saying goes, "With a sharp weapon, the murderous heart rises from the beginning". Seeing that his family's national strength is thriving, and there is a Godzilla-level boss behind him, the hawks in Nepal began to raise their heads. They strongly demanded the abolition of the unequal treaties imposed by Britain and the recapture of lost territory. At that time, Wen Deji had other considerations, so he did not directly come forward to support, but only asked them to talk to the British themselves.

The arrogant British will naturally ignore their demands, no matter how the opium cow declines, it is not something that you can do with a small fart country. Later, they simply used the excuse that Marat was already a self-governing state, so what do you want to talk to them? But Marat is also not a bird of Nepal, what you say is yours is yours? You call it, will it say yes? your eggs! So the relationship between the two sides is very bad.

Now India has begun to fight again, especially Marat, which directly occupies their territory, is completely a sea of five dragons, and the five forces are slaughtered together, and they have already beaten out the brains of dogs.

Seeing this, Nepalis can't sit still. President Girija personally went to Hanjing to ask for advice from Moon Dehe. The situation is no longer the same as it was back then, and Bundeji also felt that the time was ripe and agreed to the Nepalese plan.

As soon as President Girija returned, he issued an ultimatum to Marat, asking them to agree to Nepal's territorial claims by 8 o'clock on April 30 in exchange for about 300,000 square kilometers of territory, including the Gangetic plain. Besides, many of Nepal's land demands are under the control of other forces, and the Marat government cannot hand them over even if they want to.

At 9 a.m. on April 30, 1942, an hour after the ultimatum expired, more than 230 fighters of the Nepalese Air Force crossed the border and launched an air raid on the Marat side!

This was the beginning of this melee, known as the "Nima War".

Boca.

Pokhara is the second largest city in Nepal and one of the most famous places in Nepal. It is located in the valley of the Pokhara River in the foothills of the southern slopes of the Himalayas in central Nepal, about 200 kilometers east of Kathmandu. The altitude of the place is 900 meters, and the climate is similar to that of Guangdong. The basic terrain is low hills and hills, and the river valley is wide and flat.

In the original time and space, the road was not opened until 1970, and tourism gradually appeared after that. However, tourism in this area has been greatly advanced, and in 1920 a road was built here, and in 1926, a railway from China was also connected to this area. At present, there are three pillars of Nepal's income sources, mining first, medicinal materials second, and tourism third.

Life is better than Chinese Since the 20s, there has been a tourism boom, domestic travel is not enough, but also to go abroad. The allies of the People's Revolutionary Federation naturally became the first choice, and the most of them went to Japan and Siam, for the reason you know, full of warm thoughts and silver desires.

Nepal is in third place, but it's mostly for regular tourism. Compared with the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Bangkok, Pokhara is much quieter. Especially its location in the Himalayan valley, nestled under the snow-capped peaks of Annapurna and Fishtail, beside the stunning Lake Pewa, with lush vegetation and magnificent snow-capped mountain scenery, has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal for Chinese. Since the late twenties, it has welcomed hundreds of thousands of Chinese tourists every year.

Captain Sharma drove slowly through the streets of Pokhara in his beloved car. The surrounding streets are full of shops selling souvenirs and souvenirs, and all kinds of Chinese signs are hung all over the city. According to the current law of Nepal, Chinese is the first foreign language and Chinese is the second language, and according to the regulations, all signboards and street signs in Nepal must have Chinese.

With a population of less than 50,000, the city is mostly engaged in industries that serve the Chinese, and Chinese tourists can be seen everywhere on the streets of the city. Chinese and locals are very different, as long as you see those who are neatly dressed, fair-skinned, ruddy, confident, polite and with a faint arrogance, then most of them are Chinese.

"Hello, Mr. Officer!" said a tourist, who approached him and greeted him generously.

"Hello, sir......" Captain Sharma stopped the car. "What's the matter?" Sharma graduated from Chengdu Aviation College, and his Chinese language skills were not a problem for such daily conversations.

"Can I borrow a fire?" I'm sorry, my lighter dropped ......," the tourist smiled and said with a natural expression.

"Okay......" Sharma pulled out a lighter and handed it over.

"Thank you......" the tourist said casually, lighting a cigarette and looking at his car. "Yo, yes, this car is pretty good. My car's is also Ruyi, Ruyi 320 ......"

"Yes, I like this car too. My 310 can be fully charged in ten minutes, and I can run 600 kilometers on a single charge. I heard that the Ruyi 320 is better......" Sharma replied with a smile.

His car is the Ruyi 310 electric sedan produced by Huaihe Automobile Group Company. Most of the private cars in China today are electric vehicles or natural gas hybrids. Influenced by China, electric vehicles are also popular in many countries around the world, especially countries such as Germany and Japan, which lack oil, and they are more energetic than China in promoting this thing.

Two people who didn't know each other before chatted about the car. A few minutes later, the two said goodbye.

"This is the weather of the sky#chao! Look at people, any person comes out, they are all so generous, not arrogant and not humble......" Sharma said to his comrades in the back seat with some emotion.

Second Lieutenant Balma, his wingman pilot, heard this and said: "People are from the Tian# Dynasty, of course they are so confident and calm." If I were a **** person, I could do this......"

Military officers are a very high profession in Nepal, and coupled with the country's deep-rooted caste traditions, ordinary civilians are respectful of these Kshatriya lords, and they dare not casually lean over to say hello, let alone borrow fire and chat. Even if the new government has completely abolished the caste system and carried out a radical campaign to change customs, this long-established custom can not be so easily reversed. Now the civilians have seen him, but they don't have to kneel, but if they want to be as casual as those Chinese tourists, they can't be killed.

At this time, the car phone rang.

"Captain, please hurry back to the base, urgent mission ......" As soon as Sharma picked up the phone, he heard the voice of the captain from inside.

"Yes, we'll be right back. Sharma hung up the phone, started the car, and sped towards the air base outside the city.

"Thanks to the quality of the road, otherwise it would have been stressful...... Sharma said he had increased his speed to 120 kilometers per hour as he left the city.

"Captain, what kind of mission do you say this time? Are you going to attack the Indians?" asked Second Lieutenant Balma.

"Probably......"
