Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Buddha Says All Beings Are Equal (Part II)

In the Ahama Sutra, the Buddha claims that "I am also a number of people", which means that the Buddha and all sentient beings are originally equal, and the difference is only in whether or not they can get rid of their afflictions. It is the Buddha who can get rid of the afflictions, and conversely, the sentient beings. It can be said that Buddhism has a broader perspective on the issue of life, and it is not limited to human beings alone. In Buddhism, all living species are essentially the same, and there is no distinction between high and low. Otherwise, there would be no interchange of roles between beasts, asuras, humans, heavens, etc.

The reason why Zhan Zhizhan was stunned was because of the words "condom" that he had chatted with his ghost friend Qiao Eighteen last night. Since the deeds of the two heroes, Zhang Zhenhua and Zhao Xiaoli, have become the main topic of discussion among college students, Zhan Zhizhan will inevitably discuss the value of the sacrifice of the two heroes when Qiao Shibai came to him to talk to him.

After a few polite words, Zhan Zhizhan went straight to the point and directly asked why there were different voices about the sacrifice of the two heroes.

Qiao Eighteen pondered for a moment and said, "Why is Brother Zhizhan so persistent? Heaven and earth are self-evident without people, the sun and moon are self-evident without anyone burning, the stars are self-ordered without people, and the birds and beasts are self-generated without man-made. The reason why people are born, so they are not, so they are honored, and why they are humiliated, all have natural principles and natural ways. Follow the principles of nature, follow the way of nature, the country is autonomous, and people are self-righteous, so why should we relish in etiquette and advocate benevolence and righteousness? Advocating benevolence and righteousness with relishing in etiquette and pleasure is far from human nature! Just as a man beats a drum to seek escape, the louder it hits, the farther he flees! ”

Zhan Zhizhan was a little familiar with what Qiao Eighteen said, and thought for a moment, and then realized that this passage was from Lao Tzu's "Confucius Greetings". It's just that it seems far-fetched to explain that there are different voices about the sacrifice of the two heroes.

Qiao Eighteen saw Zhan Zhizhan frowning and his face full of doubts, and then said: "Brother Zhizhan, the twenty-third product of the "Diamond Sutra" "Pure Heart and Doing Good" has a cloud. It is the equality of the law, and there is no superiority. It is called the Anuttara Sambodhi. With no self, no one, no beings, no life. Cultivating all the good dharmas to attain the three bodhisattvas of the three bodhisattvas. Subodhi. Those who speak of the good law. If it is not a good law, it is a good law. All things are equal, there is no distinction between high and low, and this is the most complete and complete enlightenment. ”

Although Zhan Zhizhan was not a Buddhist, he understood Qiao Shiba's words, which meant that "all beings are equal". What cats, dogs, princes and generals, in the eyes of the Buddha are all equal. There is no difference between the so-called "pride of the sky" and the old farmer.

The Buddha said that "all living beings are equal", which is from the perspective of the essence of life after the Buddha realized the truth of life in the universe and stood in the realm of the One True Dharma where all beings are one and there is no difference. In fact, from a physical point of view, the beings in the Dharma Realm, whether in terms of structure or function, do not appear to be absolutely identical. Does this mean that the Buddha's "equality of all beings" is false? Not! Definitely. This does not negate the correctness of the Buddha's statement that all beings are equal.

The difference between lives is mainly manifested in the purity of life and soul, that is, the difference in thought, quality, spirit, and realm. The different thoughts, qualities, and spiritual realms of all sentient beings have produced different languages and behaviors from each other, and the different thoughts, languages, and behaviors of sentient beings have produced a series of corresponding results under the influence of the principles and laws of life in the universe, which is manifested in the different spiritual outlooks and destinies of sentient beings.

The Buddha said that "all living beings are equal", which is also manifested in the effect of the basic principles and laws of life on all sentient beings. In the embrace of the universe, no life can escape the regulations and restrictions imposed on life by the basic principles and laws of life, not even Buddha. Here, there is absolute equality and consistency.

Zhan Zhizhan has great respect for the view of "equality of all beings" expounded in Buddhist scriptures. What's more, the Buddha said that "all living beings are equal", which is consistent with Zhan Zhizhan's view that "there is no distinction between high and low, but there is a difference in the quality of the heart". A person's behavior reflects his personality everywhere. A person with a good heart behaves brightly and behaves properly. If the mind is not right, it will be unsympathetic, and it will be covered up. But his character flaws, just like when people are sick, can be reflected in their faces, and others can see them clearly.

Zhan Zhizhan is smart, he immediately smiled, arched his hand to Qiao Eighteen and said, "Listening to your words is better than reading ten years." Brother Pei Gong Buddhism and Taoism double cultivation, admire! Admire! Brother Pei's painstaking words made the brother enlightened, and the mouth was suddenly opened! ”

Zhan Zhizhan's comprehension originated from the Buddha's Bunsen story "The Prince Feeds the Tiger" and "The Corpse Draws the Pigeon". These two stories convey to the faithful the doctrine that all beings are equal. In order to save the pigeon and the young tiger, the king cut off the flesh from his legs, and the little prince gave up his life. Perhaps, to anthropocentrists, this kind of preaching is somewhat incredible. How can the value of human life be compared to that of animals, and is there anything more important in this world than human life? However, in Buddhism, all beings are equal, and there is no distinction between humans and animals, so the object of compassion is not only human beings, but also all sentient beings.

Based on the premise that all life is equal and needs to be protected, Buddhism puts forward the concept of compassion and kindness to all life. And use this as the standard of good and evil of ethics and morality to judge and distribute tickets to the reincarnation of sentient beings in future lives. The first good karma is not to kill. Those who do good deeds and accumulate virtue go to heaven and enter the path of goodness; Killing is the first heinous rule, and whoever commits evil deeds will go to hell and become hungry ghosts. There is a cloud in the Huayan Sutra: "The sin of killing living beings in the middle can cause sentient beings to fall into hell, animals, and hungry ghosts." If there are two kinds of retribution among the living, one is short-lived, and the other is sick. ”

Bi Yuntao saw that he was a rare person who could refute Zhan Zhizhan speechlessly, and continued triumphantly: "Old Zhan, Buddhism believes that sentient beings without exception have to flow infinitely between the past, present, and future lives. At the same time, because the karma in the three lives is different, their position in the six realms of each dwelling world is also different, and sentient beings continue to reincarnate in the six realms while constantly going through the process of the three lives, so it is called 'the six realms of reincarnation in the three worlds'. Zhang Zhenhua and Zhao Xiaoli died in order to save people, and the actions of the two martyrs can induce the fruit of bitterness and happiness, that is, 'retribution'. The positive retribution of the two martyrs determines the bittersweet retribution in the next reincarnation, and it is possible to return to the 'Heavenly Path' in the next life, or even directly ascend to the 'Asura Path'. As for those who have a lot of criticism about the two martyrs, they think that they have sharp teeth and sharp mouths, and they are quick for a while. As everyone knows, what these people have done has fallen into bad karma. This life is 'human', and in the next life it will descend to 'hell'. ”

Zhan Zhizhan didn't expect that Bi Yuntao didn't know when he learned some Buddhist knowledge, but his knowledge of Buddhism was limited. Zhan Zhizhan didn't want to expose his shortcomings, so he smiled and said, "You still gasp when you say you're fat!" Hehe......"

"It's really annoying" listened tirelessly, wiped Bi Yuntao and glanced at the "vegetable market" and said: "I said Lao Cai, what kind of rabbit are you doing?" Get your cards out! If you are willing to listen to the old Bi chanting Buddha, go to Kek Lok Temple. The old monk of Jile Temple recited the Buddha, and the quasi-Bao was more slippery than the old Bi! The old war is the same, you don't play bridge, but you come to stir up our leisure. ”

"I said the old Zhan ......" and the "hypocrite" remembered that when the big case team came to arrest him, Zhan Zhizhan was the first person to stand up and cry out for him, and it was Zhan Zhizhan who personally went to the big case team to bring him back to school. He didn't want to listen to "I really hate it" complaining about Zhan Zhizhan, and was about to change the topic, when suddenly, there was a burst of "knock", "knock", "knock"! Hurried footsteps came, followed by a shout of "Doing Things" not a human movement: "Old Zhan...... It's terrible, it's terrible, something is wrong! ”

"It's really annoying" took a sip of the wax, oily and shiny thinning hair, glanced at Zhan Zhizhan, and the girl chirped: "I said Lao Zhan, you don't know how to play bridge, go and see if Lao Zheng let the dog call you that, stirring up a good card for me." Hum! It's annoying! Why did I learn so much before! ”

Zhan Zhizhan didn't react for a while, and was about to sneer at each other, "doing it" had already pushed open the door with a "clang", and broke into the dormitory with a crawl. Maybe it's because of running all the way, the miserable round face of "Doing" is covered with sweat, and "Haha", "Haha" can't stop panting. Seeing the five roommates looking at him in bewilderment like monsters, he gasped for a long time before saying, "Quick! Fast! Imperial concubine...... Ji Chongliang let ...... Let the fire ...... Train hits ...... Crashed to death! ”

Zhan Zhizhan couldn't believe his ears, and his brain was messed up with a "coax". Zhan Zhizhan didn't think about it, he stepped forward and grabbed the arms of "Doing", stared at him and asked, "You...... What are you talking about? ”

The facial features that were "doing it" were immediately no longer in their original positions, and they cried out in pain: "Alas...... Oh my god! Sprinkle...... Let go! Let go! Old...... Old Zhan, you broke my arm! Oh my mother...... It hurts me! ”

Only then did Zhan Zhizhan realize that he was in a hurry and used too much force, although the arm that was "doing" had a lot of flesh, it couldn't withstand his hard grip. Zhan Zhizhan hurriedly let go of his hand and apologized: "I'm sorry! Sorry! We're buddies, don't mind! ”

"Doing it" rubbed his arm and said painfully: "Oh, mom...... We're buddies, you...... Don't kill you! Dead...... It's not just Ji Chongliang who died, it's ...... with her Huang Shulan, who was often with her, was also killed by the collision......"

The words "I'm doing" didn't fall, and "I'm really annoying" said in a weird way behind Zhan Zhizhan: "Hmph...... Listen to it! Listen to it! When I heard the name, it wasn't two good people, one was a 'chicken from the good' and the other was a 'weasel'. Tut! Tut! Tut! If you die, you will die, this kind of person will waste air when you live, and waste land when you die. What knives, guns, swords, halberds, axes, hooks, forks, baked cakes, fritters, buns, twists, whoever is uncomfortable for this kind of person, I look like a purebred Dutch fool! ”
