Chapter 210 On the Zen Controversy, a Shocking Scheme
Xiuxin tried to jointly cultivate bamboo, which was naturally expected by Chen Kuang.
With Chen Kuang's current reputation in the Pure Land, the discussion he had with Xiuzhu on the cultivation of the mind would soon spread throughout the entire Garan Monastery.
Naturally, it will reach Xiuxin's ears.
And the different views of the two were also deliberately made by Chen Kuang...... However, in fact, it was not the evil second personality that debated with him that day, but Xiuzhu himself.
This little monk's comprehension and Huigen can really be called innate Buddha nature, Chen Kuang originally wanted to use the pair of words between Shenxiu and Huineng to shock the monks of Jialan Temple after discussing with that second personality, and by the way, complete his purpose.
It's just that he didn't expect that Chen Kuang only guided him a little, and Xiu Zhu immediately came up with a similar point of view on his own.
It also saved Chen Kuang a lot of effort.
The body is a Bodhi tree, and the heart is like a mirror. Always wipe diligently, don't let there be dust.
Bodhi has no tree, and the mirror is not a platform. There was nothing for one, and there was dust anywhere.
These two sentences are the words of a high monk, Chen Kuang does not feel that there is a difference between right and wrong, but the realm of the latter is obviously more than a step higher, and it is already a difference between Hinayana and Mahayana.
The former is only a practice for the self, while the latter has already regarded itself as nothing, with no barrier from all things, and even as one, which is a real great compassion, great compassion.
However, in Cangyuan, there is no such subdivision in today's Pure Land.
Because there really is a Buddha in this world, and you can really become a Buddha......
Therefore, the philosophy of most monks is that they must first complete their self-cultivation and possess great supernatural powers and great wisdom in order to benefit sentient beings.
These two sentences, in fact, are not very distinguishable from each other.
And Chen Kuang's purpose was not to make a name for himself - he became a Buddha in such a high-profile way, which was famous enough.
His real purpose was to make Xiuxin realize that he was in league with those three demons.
And at the same time, hint at the thoughts of his three demons.
Chen Kuang was picked up by the three great Zen masters from a strong platform, and his thoughts, to a large extent, can represent what the three great Zen masters are thinking at this moment.
What's more, after the end of the day's meditation, everyone in the temple knew that the three great Zen masters were very appreciative of Chen Kuang's views, and rebuked the idea of cultivating bamboo for being too idealistic, very self-effacing, and arrogant.
But Xiuxin, as a Buddha, can naturally understand the true meaning immediately.
What Chen Kuang explained was actually what happened in the Pure Land during this time.
What is the purpose of suddenly holding a seven-day indulgent feast to let the monks and sentient beings have vulgar thoughts?
It is certainly not the three great Zen masters who openly take the lead and want to break the rules, causing the monks to break their vows and mess up their Buddha hearts!
Why is that?
Chen Kuang said in this treatise that he must refine his heart through the red dust and complete the washing of his soul in order to make his realm to a higher level!
At that time, Chen Kuang was still using the example of Lionheart.
You see, the lion's heart of the Buddha, the Xuanxuan Realm, the half-saint who is on the doorstep, the understanding is high enough, right? The realm is strong enough, right?
As a result, as soon as he entered the red dust, he didn't die at the hands of any master, but was broken by a two-year-old child.
What a sobering example.
Lionheart has been practicing in the Pure Land since he was a child, and underestimated the ugliness and turbidity of the human heart in the red and dusty world of the outside world, which will lead to tragedy.
Nowadays, the Pure Land is mostly closed and isolated from the outside world, and all the monks, although bathed in the pure light of the Buddha, have the deepest understanding of the Dharma.
But if you haven't entered the red dust, you naturally can't empathize with sentient beings, so how can you purify sentient beings?
Once you come into contact with the red dust world, I am afraid that you will not be polluted first.
Therefore, the three great Zen masters, who had already seen this, decided to conduct a trial of "refining the heart in the red dust" for the disciples of the Pure Land.
Now, the seven-day vegetarian feast is just a small test.
Those monks who broke the vows afterwards were actually not sincere enough to the Buddha and lacked their hearts, so they would be defeated by this small test and immediately become captives of desire.
This just shows that the great Zen master's actions are correct and full of wisdom!
And the three great Zen masters naturally accepted this explanation.
For a while, the monks, who had already aroused some dissatisfaction and suspicion, suddenly realized and understood the good intentions of the great Zen master.
It turns out that the great Zen master is testing us!
However, with Xiuxin's intelligence, how could he not know the danger contained in this.
If this is just the beginning...... In the future, the whole Pure Land will only become more and more indulgent, and such a situation will happen with the connivance of the great Zen master.
It's a terrible thing.
It's called a test, but if there are no external rules to restrain those monks who have not yet completed their practice, it will definitely turn into a disaster in the end.
The law, the law.
Self-restraint, admonition to desires, these are exactly what the Dharma needs to do, and the practice requires not only inner yearning, but also external guidance.
Once left unchecked, the consequences are unimaginable.
Even in the red dust, there are still secular rules that restrict the behavior of the wandering monks.
But the Pure Land is different.
The Pure Land is a place where there are few secular rules, and all constraints are only the word Dharma.
Now, if you want to do something that is contrary to the Dharma, it means that everything is out of control.
Xiuxin thinks there is no reason why the three great Zen masters should not know this, but why do they still do it?
There was a natural infinite doubt in his heart.
This......
This is simply shaking the foundation of the entire Pure Land!
That's why Xiuxin was so anxious to find Xiuzhu, a person who proposed ideas that coincided with him, but were completely different from Chen Kuang and the Great Zen Master, and formed an alliance with him.
After listening to Xiuxin's thoughts, Xiuzhu nodded and said with a smile:
"I see, I see."
Xiuxin hurriedly said: "Senior Brother Xiuzhu, you are the one with the deepest roots in the past hundred years, so you can naturally understand the horror of this, and now, you and I are the only ones who can oppose the three great Zen masters." ”
Xiu Zhu nodded again: "I know, senior brother, what are you going to do?" ”
Xiuxin pursed her lips, seemed to have made up her mind, and said:
"Let's go to the Great Zen Master and tell them that this is absolutely not feasible!"
Xiu Zhu stared at him for a while, but shook his head: "No." ”
Xiuxin was stunned for a moment and said, "Senior brother, don't you dare?" It's okay, when the time comes, I will say that it was my idea, and it goes without saying that the great Zen master has always doted on you, and he will not blame you......"
"I mean."
Xiuzhu smiled: "You and me, how can you say that you can move the three great Zen masters with profound Buddhism?" If they want to do it, how can we do it? ”
Xiuxin suddenly had a hint of foreboding: "Then what do you mean?" ”
Xiuzhu said leisurely: "If the three great Zen masters suddenly pass away, the Pure Land will naturally have the final say." ”
