Chapter 457: The True Truth of the Case - Part II
FBI, Las Vegas Branch, an interrogation room.
There was a knock on the door, and Roan looked away from Hector Jamie, turned and walked out of the interrogation room, where Michelle and two men and women in suits stood in the hallway.
"Hello, Team Leader Greenwood."
Standing at the front, the white woman in the suit with a ponytail stretched out her hand to Luo An, and introduced herself with a smile:
"My name is Fiona and I'm from the Legal Counsel's Office."
"Hello."
Stretching out his hand and shaking hands with each other, Roan and Michelle walked to the office area with Fiona and her colleagues, and after a few brief greetings, Roan gave the two of them the legal aspects of the case.
After carefully checking the half-ring, Fiona's eyes narrowed slightly, and she began to whisper to her male colleague for a moment, then got up and walked to Luo An's side, and said with a smile:
"Team Leader Greenwood, can you take a step to speak?"
"Of course."
Luo An took Fiona into the conference room on the side, closed the door, poured himself and Fiona two cups of coffee, and asked:
"What do you say about this case?"
"To be honest, if you go to court now, the special investigation team will be very disadvantaged."
Fiona took the coffee and thanked her, then frowned:
"In the hands of our special investigation team, there is no direct evidence to prove that Hector Jamie is behind this case."
Luo An took a sip of coffee, his expression remained unchanged, and said lightly:
"That's why I asked my men to come to you."
If the Special Investigation Team had direct evidence in its possession now, there would have been no need to find these people in the Legal Counsel's Office in this case.
"Team Leader Greenwood has a point."
Fiona was stunned for a moment, then chuckled, then thought for a moment, and said that she and her colleague had come up with three methods.
The first is to do nothing, just go to court according to the evidence in the hands of the special investigation team and try to convince the judge that Hector Jamie is behind it, and this plan has the lowest success rate.
The second method is to break Hector Jamie's current status as an "accomplice" and use the evidence at hand to persuade the judge in court to make the judge determine that Hector Jamie is an "accomplice" in the case.
Federal law has a strong "follow the precedent" principle, coupled with Hector Jamie's previous prison squatting, Fiona is confident that with "bad people only do bad things", Hector Jamie will definitely have a smooth ride and use Iona's reasons for loving her and watching her poison to convince the judge and the jury.
Roan's expression remained unchanged and he didn't speak, this plan meant that Fiona gave up revealing that Hector Jamie was behind the case.
After a few seconds of silence, Luo An asked:
"What's the third method?"
Iona smiled, put down the coffee cup, and said:
"Respect the federal law, respect Hector Jamie's plan, but also respect the rights of the relatives of those 26 victims."
Luo An's eyes narrowed slightly when he heard this, and he understood the meaning of Fiona's words.
Under federal law, the special investigation team cannot tell these relatives the details of the case, as it is, but the relatives of the 26 victims have the right to know who killed their loved ones.
Among those relatives, there are many rich people, and these rich people always have a way to find out the truth of the case from other places.
After learning the truth, what the rich man will do to Hector Jamie, who is locked up in prison, is not something that the special investigation team can manage.
It can only be said that the federation, a capitalist country, can really do whatever it wants if it has money.
Thinking about this clearly, Luo An looked at Fiona in front of him, his brows furrowed slightly.
Looking at the silent Luo An, Fiona's eyes flashed with a gleam, coughed lightly, and said:
"Team Greenwood, I think ......"
As soon as Fiona's words began, Luo An stretched out his hand to interrupt the other party, then opened the door of the conference room and said with a smile:
"Thank you for your help, Lady Fiona, and I will consider your suggestion."
ββ¦β¦ Good. β
Fiona was slightly stunned, smiled and left the conference room, Luo An and the two exchanged a few words, and then motioned to Michelle to send the two away.
As soon as the three of Michelle walked out of this area, Luo An walked to Lacey, who was not far away, and whispered expressionlessly:
"Lacey, go check on this Fiona and her colleagues."
"Huh?"
Lacey's face was full of doubts when she heard this, and when she looked up and saw Luo An's expressionless face, her face changed instantly, and she nodded heavily in agreement.
"No problem, I'll go."
Looking at the back of Lacey leaving quickly, Luo An clasped his hands around his chest, his eyes narrowed slightly.
Luo An thinks that he is not a good person, and he has a lot of lives in his hands when he comes to this world.
But Fiona's third suggestion is a different level, and if you don't get it right, you'll fall into a pit that you can never climb out of.
This couldn't help but make Roan start to think, Fiona was just making suggestions, or if there were other ideas, or if there was someone behind her.
"Hey! Roan! β
Just as Luo An was pondering, Mona suddenly ran out of the room with her laptop in her arms and excitement on her face:
"You're amazing! How do you know ......"
βStopοΌβ
Seeing this, Luo An quickly reached out and covered Mona's mouth.
Looking down at the laptop screen a few times, Luo An grinned, hugged the laptop and turned back to the interrogation room.
Entering the interrogation room again, Luo An didn't talk nonsense, and asked directly:
"Hector Jamie, you admit that you had sex with Iona, right?"
Hector Jamie looked at Roan for a moment and nodded:
"That's right."
Luo An followed up and asked:
"Did you have sex in the room Iona rented?"
"I ......"
"Don't lie, dear Mr. Hector."
As soon as Hector's words began, Roan interrupted him, stared at him with his eyes and said:
"You have already lied before, and if you continue to lie this time, the judge and the jury in the court may have a much worse impression of you."
Hector was silent for a long time when he heard this, and nodded slowly:
"Yes, we did have sex in the room Iona rented."
"Good."
Roan smiled with satisfaction, then placed the laptop in front of Hector Jamie and said:
"My agents just found out that the trioxide and estazolam in that room were ordered on a crime website.
This crime site is the same site where you contact the Pietro Thief Trio, and when the buyer places an order, the signal address shows that the person who placed the order is in the room rented by Iona.
What do you think about this? β
"I'm sorry, Team Leader Greenwood, I already said earlier, Iona has always been in charge of the purchase of medicines, I didn't ask."
Hector Jamie's expression remained unchanged, with a smile on his face, and explained lightly:
"As for Iona's pharmacy, it's the same website where I contacted the Pietro trio, because I didn't shy away from Iona when I contacted the Pietro trio.
Iona saw this website, registered an account by herself, and secretly placed an order to buy medicine behind my back, isn't it? β
"It's normal, indeed."
Luo An smiled slightly:
"That room has been carefully cleaned, we can't find Iona's computer, maybe you smashed it or burned it, so there's no way to prove what you say is true or not."
"Wow, Team Leader Greenwood."
Hector Jamie smiled even more, but shook his head again and again:
"I can sue you for defamation in court without evidence to talk nonsense."
"Whatever you want."
Luo An leaned forward slowly, looked at Hector condescendingly, and said:
"I just wanted to tell you one thing, that criminal website has actually been under the surveillance of the NSA all along."
ββ¦β¦β
As the words fell, the smile on Hector's face suddenly became extremely stiff, and the smile on Roan's face became more and more gentle and kind.
