Chapter Fifty-Five: Tempered Aragog
For Hagrid, the Ministry of Magic's Inquisitor was terrifying, as the Inquisitor had the right to get him back to Azkaban.
The Ombudsman of the Board of Trustees was a nuisance, as Amosta could expel him from Hogwarts on behalf of the Board of Trustees, and although Hagrid knew that Headmaster Dumbledore would definitely speak for him, it was always a very troublesome matter.
Amosta and Hagrid struggled to walk through the depths of the Forbidden Forest, and although it was daytime, the dense woods blocked most of the light from the sky, and the woods were so dark that Amosta had to pull out his wand and light the light to illuminate himself.
It was so quiet that even if you listened closely, you couldn't hear anything other than the snapping of branches and the crackling of the rain against the leaves.
Hagrid seemed to know the place well, and he jumped down from a slanted tree trunk, looked around, and waved his hand at Amosta with a pant.
"This way, Professor Blaine..."
It was another ten minutes of arduous walking, and it was a long time uninhabited, and the ground was covered with a carpet of rotting leaves several feet thick, and every step of the foot felt like sinking into a puddle of mud.
"I think you're working in vain, Professor." Because of his huge weight, Hagrid would sink deeper with each foot he fell, and in order to make sure that he would not be completely swallowed up by the rotten leaves like quicksand, Hagrid had to move forward while clutching the trunk of the tree that lay across his head.
"I've asked it many times, Professor Blaine, but it's never willing to say it, only that the monster in the castle is a terrible ancient creature, a natural enemy of spiders, and the rest, it won't tell me at all, and in my opinion, it's unlikely that it will tell anyone--"
"Give it a try, Hagrid."
Compared to Hagrid's embarrassment, Amosta moves with much more grace, and he casts a spell on himself, cutting most of his weight, allowing Amosta to move forward almost in a gliding way.
"I can't give up the slightest clue."
"Then be prepared, Professor Blaine, because he is too old to move around, Aragog's temper has become more and more violent in recent years, and I can't guarantee that I will be able to appease his anger."
"There's no need to worry about that, Hagrid, sometimes..."
Amosta easily jumped over a small puddle of water, and as he passed by Hagrid's side, he helped him by the way.
"I'm going to be grumpy too."
........
When the trees around him thinned out, the ground began to slope downward, and a dark shadow the size of a stone pier loomed behind the bushes covered with thorny vines, Amosta knew that the destination of his trip was near.
Amosta stood on the edge of a crater-like depression, raised his glowing wand and looked down at the pit of sparse trees that inhabited hundreds of spiders, not furry gadgets, each of them the size of the eight-eyed spider he had caught.
From the moment Amosta appeared, a large clattering sound erupted into this quiet pit, resounding through the silent jungle.
"Who is it?"
In the middle of the hollow, in the middle of the misty hemispherical web, a spider the size of an African elephant emerged very slowly, the color of its body was different from that of other spiders, it was black and gray, and each eye of the ugly head with a big turtle was covered with a layer of white, and it seemed that it was impossible to see clearly.
"Who disturbed my slumber, is it Hagrid?"
The big spider asked in a shrill voice like a nail clipper hanging on a blackboard.
Click, click, click!
A large group of spiders around answered this question in this unique language.
"Oh, yes, a stranger has come here, oh, I'm sorry then...", the two big crows of Aragog moved quickly, giving its opinion,
"Kids, what are you waiting for?"
Looking at the spiders who had lost their instincts, Amosta's eyes narrowed, and he secretly wondered how much venom he could get if he really did it later.
"Oh, wait, Aragog, wait!"
At this time, Hagrid, who seemed to have taken a bath in the mud, finally rushed over out of breath, "It's me, I'm Hagrid, Aragog!" ”
The old spider in the middle of the cobwebs heard the familiar voice, and the trembling big crow paused, and then, the harsh voice sounded a little more friendly,
"Oh, I'm sorry, Hagrid, it's you, I thought a stranger had broken into my family domain...
So, have you talked to them about the centaurs hunting my children that I mentioned to you last time, and if they don't rein in their actions, Hagrid, I'll have to fight back. ”
"Actually, Aragog, I've heard very different things from the centaurs than you think... Well, I'll go and ask you again, Aragog, and I'm here today for some other things to ask. ”
Hagrid is like the guardian of order in the Forbidden Forest, and every magical creature with intelligence, whether or not he has a crush on the wizard, maintains the most basic respect for Hagrid.
The small spiders swam around in the pit with their long, slender legs that supported their bodies, and the squirming sounded very restless, and they continued to send messages to the blind Aragog.
"Hagrid!"
Aragog's voice, which had just subsided its hostility, sounded furious again, and it aimed its eight blindfolded eyes in the direction of Amosta, angrily asking,
"Did you bring someone else here, Hagrid, you promised me you wouldn't do it!"
It seems that this old spider is indeed not so easy to communicate, Amosta thought to himself, and stood aside silently observing Hagrid and communicating with it.
"Professor Blaine... He is also the investigator sent by the Hogwarts Board to enter the school's investigation room, and he insists on talking to you face to face, Aragog, I hope you can..."
"Chamber of Secrets!"
Before Hagrid could finish speaking, Aragog's emotions immediately became excited, and in the angry clicking sound it made, many spiders surrounded Amosta and Hagrid from all sides, and they stayed two or dozens of feet away from him, making a more dense rustling sound, and at the first command, they would immediately pounce!
"I've said it many times, Hagrid, we're afraid of that monster, we don't mention that ancient creature to outsiders, if too many wizards know about it, then wizards will covet its power and use it to destroy us!"
Oh, this logic is quite strange!
Amosta couldn't help but smile, and then, he saw Hagrid shrugging his shoulders helplessly at him,
"You see, that's how it turned out, Professor Bryan, you know, if it had been willing to give up that monster, maybe I wouldn't have been kicked out of Hogwarts."
"Don't give up so easily, Hagrid--"
Amosta took two steps forward in a relaxed tone,
"Let me try to communicate with it."
