Chapter 385: Denied Request
"A watch?" Dumbledore looked surprised, he seemed intrigued, and asked with interest, "What does it look like?" ”
"A watch made of magical metal has no special skills, the main special thing is that it can accurately realize the time, and it is not easy to break."
Amosta said, dispelling any suspicion that Dumbledore had sent Snape to him.
The three wizards sitting in this office know each other well, and they all know what kind of 'goods' each other is.
Dumbledore knew very well that the watch Amosta gave Harry was probably not a watch in the traditional sense, but he didn't ask, it was a tacit understanding between the two of them.
"So, Headmaster, about what you just said—"
Amosta stopped before he could speak, his eyes pointing to the door, and at the same time, Dumbledore's beard moved, and the corners of his eyes smiled,
"You're so busy here, Amosta--"
"Unfortunately, things tend to pile up." Amosta shook her head.
"Professor Blaine, Sirius, he's going to look for it, ahem!"
"Harry, too!"
Hermione and Ron roared into the office and screamed, but when they saw the smiling Professor Dumbledore sitting on the couch, Hermione's face suddenly turned red, her fists clenched with nervousness, and Ron was speechless as if he had been sawed to the ground.
Professor Dumbledore was nothing here, and when Professor Snape, who was sitting stiff, stared at him suspiciously, Hermione and Ron's faces turned from red to white, and they looked helpless.
It's a suffocating situation!
The two of them had come to ask Professor Blaine for help, hoping that he would stop Sirius, who was going to trouble Snape, but they didn't expect that one of the two sides of the conflict was here, so what did they do?
"They're coming for you, Amosta."
Dumbledore's slender fingers interlaced as he leaned back on the couch, pretending to be interested in the sunset outside the window, which had been dyed half red, and looked like he didn't intend to intervene.
Amosta glanced at the darkened Snape, and then at the two little wizards who seemed to have been caught in the petrification spell, the corners of his mouth twitched, and he had a faint guess in his heart, he took out his wand, and the fluorescent tip of the wand made ripples on the water-like space, and a strange snake with a black and white wings swam in the air.
Hermione noticed that Professor Blaine's lilac eyes flashed a deeper purple light for a moment, and at the same time, the eyes of the monster with its wings flapping and a little majestic aura around it also crossed the eyes of the purple light, and then Professor Blaine's Patronus quickly pierced through the wall and disappeared into the room.
"Don't worry--" Amosta crossed his fingers on the upturned Jiro's legs, "I'll have Sirius come to me." ”
Seeing Hermione and Ron flee with more panicked steps than they had just broken into the office, Amosta shook her head with a smirk.
"I warned you, Severus--"
Dumbledore withdrew his gaze, a little helpless, but said to Snape in a solemn voice,
"What you see is only what you want to see, some things that have happened in the past have clouded your mind, but let go of your prejudices and you will find that he is a likable child."
Snape obviously didn't agree with Dumbledore's opinion of Harry, he snorted coldly and said dryly,
"What you see is only what you want to see—words of wisdom, Headmaster Dumbledore, apply to you as well."
Sirius, who had been in the basement, soon appeared on the third floor, and Amosta expected to see a hole in the ground in anger, and even began to draw his wand when he entered the room, ready to fight, but unexpectedly, Sirius came in with a calm face, but looked at Snape with undisguised hatred in his eyes.
"I'm coming—"
Sirius nodded at Dumbledore and Amosta.
The air was filled with the smell of gunpowder, and Amosta didn't dare to let the two hostile people sit next to each other, so he let the chair behind his desk float behind Sirius and motioned for him to sit down.
Amosta and Dumbledore exchanged glances, and then, Amosta spoke lightly,
"I hope that some consensus can be reached here today--"
Amosta's voice was majestic and undeniable,
"You hate each other and have no intention of reconciling, I'm not an idealist and have no intention of changing your opinion of each other, but this is Hogwarts, where hundreds of little wizards live hungry for knowledge, and you must understand that if you have a conflict in the castle, there is a high chance that it will affect the underage children-"
"What Amosta said also represents my opinion."
Dumbledore also said sternly,
"I want you to be aware of, and truly understand, the responsibilities that a professor should have on his shoulder."
Amosta and Dumbledore's words had some effect, it seemed that Sirius and Snape, who were planning to kill each other with their eyes, each deviated from their sight and looked at him expressionlessly, but within a few seconds, Sirius turned his head back, he looked at Snape defiantly, and then focused his eyes on Dumbledore,
"I made a decision, Headmaster Dumbledore, I told Amosta before, but he wants you to know too."
"Oh, what is it?" Dumbledore's voice was deep.
"I'd like to take Harry out of his aunt's house this summer, and I've consulted Harry about his wishes, and he's more than happy to do that—"
Snape's brow furrowed, his lips moving, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he didn't say anything, just a sudden paleness.
There was a long silence in the office, and this silence itself represented some kind of answer, and Snape's expression changed subtly, and the corners of his mouth pulled into a faint arc, which was his usual sarcastic smile, and Sirius, who had been sure that Dumbledore would not object, now turned black.
"I'm sorry, Sirius--"
Dumbledore finally spoke, his eyes calm as he stared at Sirius,
"I can't say yes to your request."
"I'm Harry's Godfather!"
Sirius slammed to his feet, glaring angrily at Dumbledore,
"Harry himself would love to live with me, and, you don't know, Harry's Muggle aunt and uncle had been abusing him, and Harry had told me that they had him live in the cupboard under the stairwell before he came to Hogwarts!"
Sirius became angrier and angrier, and he told him all the things Harry had told him during this time, the days he had spent living in the Dursleys, and listening to these things, Snape's mood changed subtly, and he was shocked at first, and then a wave of anger welled up in his heart that he didn't quite understand.
Penny Evans. That ridiculous and funny woman dared.
"In fact—"
Sirius was still shouting about Harry's injustice, but Dumbledore interrupted him in a slightly tired voice,
"I probably know Harry's life at his aunt's and uncle's house better than you think, Sirius-"
Sirius shut up suddenly, and he glared at Dumbledore, his eyes unbelievably the same as Snape's.
"Why!" Sirius said coldly,
"Now that you know, why didn't you save Harry from that hateful Muggle couple, why sit idly by, Dumbledore, if it weren't for James and Lily, if it wasn't for Harry, we might not have been able to get rid of Voldemort by now, you're--"
Amosta guessed that Sirius might have wanted to say that Dumbledore had unloaded the mill and killed the donkey, but in anger, out of the little respect for Dumbledore, he forcibly held back, but, looking at the faces of Sirius and Professor Snape, Dumbledore would probably not be able to deal with the aftermath if he didn't come up with some 'dry goods'.
Dumbledore was clearly aware of this, and the fold on his forehead had grown in silence for a few seconds.
"Sit down, Sirius, and, Severus, I'll give you a reasonable explanation."
