Chapter 568: Torment

Halloween dinners have always been a major feature of Hogwarts, and you can hardly find a more lavish banquet at Hogwarts than the Halloween dinner, and the unveiling of the Warrior candidates added a bit of anticipation and anxiety to this brilliant dinner.

The dinner began at six o'clock, but from four o'clock the little wizards began to go downstairs one after another, and some of them stayed in the foyer all day in order to find out who had cast their names at the Goblet of Fire.

Around half-past five, it was already dark and Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked into the Great Hall together.

It was supposed to be a pleasant day for Harry, who had planned to spend the whole day at Hagrid's, and they could dig up some information about the Triwizard Tournament from the corners of Hagrid's mouth, but the little accident of the girl in Beauxbatons in the morning had made a lot of things happen to the three of them.

They accompanied Hagrid on a tour of the Hogwarts campus with Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students.

Hagrid was so distraught by Fleur's injury that he had no idea at all, in essence, it was Harry and the three of them who were leading the guests on the tour, but they didn't have Professor Blaine's ability to fool people, and in order to make the students of Durmstrang and Beauxbatons think that there was something worth seeing in Hogwarts, they racked their brains and even asked Professor Sprout to open the greenhouse where magical plants were cultivated.

But this still did not satisfy the guests of Trickham Strong and Beauxbatons, and the complaints and ridicule continued, and many of them quit halfway through, and Hermione, who was choking, quarreled several times with the prickly Beauxbatons witches.

It was Victor Krum who made the three of them feel good.

He dragged his sick body until the end of the tour, and Ron got his autograph as he wished.

At noon they had lunch at Hagrid's, who had made them a big pot of steak and a hodgepodge, but perhaps it was a bad mood that caused them to lose their souls, and Hermione dug a big paw out of her smorgasbord, and after that, she, Harry, and Ron had little appetite.

In the afternoon, Hermione instructed Tim and Ron in wizarding chess, and she thought it necessary for him to learn some entertainment skills, but every time he lost a game, Tim would jump up in fear, apologize to Hermione with tears in his eyes, and then stick his head into Hagrid's furnace to punish herself.

"By my par, Hermione, it's not meant to learn this at all, even Neville is a lot better than him—"

After a reluctant victory, Ron said innocently as Hermione glared angrily.

And Harry had been trying to convince Hagrid that Professor Bryan would take care of the matter and that the wah wouldn't be executed by the Ministry of Magic for this (which wasn't a bad thing, Harry thought to himself), but it didn't work, Hagrid never managed to come out of his sluggish mood, and in the end, even Harry was a little helpless,

"Then go and apologize, Hagrid!"

Harry sighed,

"I suppose the Headmaster of Beauxbatons would forgive you, and the Ministry of Magic would have no reason to kill the whelch by doing it themselves-"

"Oh, that's a great idea!"

Hagrid, who had been in a slump for a day, immediately regained his spirits, washed his head with a perfume that smelled more like an insect repellent potion, and rushed out of the door to Beauxbatons' carriage, leaving the three of them in the house.

"Did Hagrid expect to be forgiven by the headmaster who had stunned Beauxbatons with that smell?"

It was a terrible day, and as he stepped up the last step of the foyer, Ron said with a frown,

"According to me, he doesn't have to worry about the Ministry of Magic killing those snails, they probably can't find a way to break the shell of the snails, of course, if the headmaster of Beauxbatons does it himself, it will be fine, she just needs to go to Hagrid's pumpkin patch, then none of those snails will survive, you know what I mean"

"Don't be stupid, Ron--"

Hermione giggled, Ron's joke made her feel a little better after a day of annoyance,

"Hagrid didn't go to Madame Maxim to apologize at all, didn't you pay attention to Hagrid's suit and hairstyle, he had been planning to ask her out-"

When the three of them entered the foyer, they found that the Goblet of Fire had been removed from the foyer and was now in front of Professor Dumbledore.

Illuminated by the glow of thousands of candles suspended in midair, the Great Hall was already full, and Hermione pulled the startled Harry and Ron to quickly find a seat and sit down. When she noticed that Fred and George's chins had become bare again, Hermione raised her eyebrows, lifted her chin and smiled,

"I think you've learned to be taught a lesson, haven't you?"

"Oh! I think the people who are used to challenge the rules are the real warriors, nosy Miss Know-It-all! ”

Fred said unhappily.

Harry noticed that there was one more person on the staff table, in addition to Ludo Bagman, who had been at the opening ceremony of the Triwizard Tournament yesterday, Barty Crouch, whom they had seen on the night of the Quidditch final in the summer, but who looked sick and unmotivated.

"I think he should realize that he can't cope with life alone without Twinkle's help."

In response to Barty Crouch's state, Hermione said mercilessly,

"He should feel remorse for his actions and ask for Twinkle's forgiveness!"

Hermione's argument was complete wishful thinking, and it was impossible for the high-ranking director of the Department of International Magical Cooperation to grovel to apologize to a house-elf, and if Barty Crouch wanted to, he could easily get himself a hundred house-elves to take charge of his own life.

"I don't know who will be a Hogwarts Champion--"

Discussing house-elves with Hermione at any time was a wrong choice, and Harry carefully adjusted the subject.

"I wish it was Angelina."

Fred said immediately.

Angelina was the only Gryffindor senior they knew of who had put their name in the Goblet of Fire, and of course, there was definitely more than one who had signed up privately.

"Me too!"

Hermione was distracted by the topic, and she waved her hand at Angelina, who was a few seats away, her fists clenched and her nervous tanned skin a little pale

"May you be a Hogwarts Warrior, Angelina!"

Hermione and Angelina have been on good terms since the last time they had a discussion of 'love' with Professor Bryan in the library.

"Oh, thank you!"

Angelina tilted her head to look at Hermione, a nervous smile.

Halloween dinner time seems to be much longer. Perhaps because of the two days of feasting, the little wizards didn't seem to like the sumptuous dishes that were well prepared as much as they usually did.

The people in the auditorium kept looking around, and every face showed an anxious expression.

"Who do you think will come back and announce the results later?" Neville suddenly asked a question that sparked a heated discussion.

"Professor Dumbledore or Professor Blaine, it's one of the two--"

Ron stuffed a piece of pudding whole into his mouth and puffed out a nonsense sentence with his cheeks puffed.

The discussion on this issue passed the time for everyone to endure some difficult time, and finally, the golden plate returned to its original spotless state, and the voice in the auditorium suddenly rose a lot. Immediately, Professor Bryan stood up.

"Oh"

Hermione sighed a little disappointed, she was rooting for Professor Dumbledore for Neville's question, as he was the Headmaster of Hogwarts and should have given the answer to this solemn occasion.

The auditorium immediately fell silent, and hundreds of eyes below the auditorium fell on Professor Blaine, while Professor Karkaroff and Madame Maxim at the faculty table looked as nervous and expectant as everyone else. Ludo Bagman smiled and winked at the students at the schools, while Crouch looked uninterested, as if he couldn't wait to get out.

"Everyone--"

Professor Blaine walked behind Professor Snape to the side of the square table where the Goblet of Fire was placed, in the open space between the faculty and student tables, and smiled at everyone,

"This is the end of the painful and difficult dinner, and now it is time to reveal the answer for you and for myself!"
