Chapter 578: Clumsy Protection
On Sunday morning, Hermione woke up to look at the clear sky, and it took a while to understand why she felt so tired and sad. What happened last night made her toss and turn for most of the night without falling asleep, and the scenes that appeared in her dreams were all things she was not happy to face.
The dorm room was quiet, and with both Lavender and Parvati no longer in their respective beds, Hermione sat up with unprecedented difficulty, pulling back the curtain of the four-poster bed and staring at the 'book wall' across the bed.
The furnishings of the girls' dormitories are not as boring, boring and unchanging as the men's dormitories.
For example, the three girls living in this dormitory have three colors of bedding, except for Hermione, who uses the sheets and bedding provided by the school, Lavender and Parvati's beds are much brighter, and their curtains are also covered with many interesting and cute little decorations, and Hermione, the first base book near her bed may be her way of decorating her living space.
If she could, Hermione would have preferred to stay in such a quiet environment until the first event of the Triwizard Tournament began, so that she could avoid many foreseeable troubles, but it was clear that this was not possible.
She wore slippers to the bathroom in the dormitory, and the girl reflected in the mirror had heavy dark circles under her eyes, her hair was in a desperate mess, the first button of her collar had been rubbed open while she was sleeping, and her pajamas were hanging down half of her shoulders, looking sloppy.
Based on Hermione's years of experience dealing with her messy hair, the quickest way to get herself downstairs as soon as possible is to wash her hair in the shower.
So, she leaned against the wall with one hand so that she wouldn't fall down on her own from lack of sleep, and the other began to unbutton her pajamas. Her movements were slow and clumsy, as if it would reasonably help her buy her more time in the room.
Hiss.
When she unbuttoned the third button, her pajamas slipped down her white body, the weather in early November was already less pleasant, and Hermione gasped as she saw goosebumps on her bare arms in the mirror.
Hermione crossed her arms and rubbed them a few times, realizing that she shouldn't be wasting time, she quickly removed the rest of her clothes from her body and prepared for the shower. But no sooner had she gotten out of the mirror's range than Hermione retreated.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Hermione straightened her chest cowering from the cold, and looked at the silhouette of her body in the mirror.
Even if you judge it with a critical eye, you can definitely get a high score.
Hermione was startled by the thought that popped into her head, and then, with a crimson face, she quickly broke away from the mirror and jumped into the shower.
Parvati and Lavender have been comparing since they were in second grade, and there's nothing to be ashamed of! Hermione, wrapped in mist and hot water, thought sheepishly.
Today is Sunday, and students can wear the clothes they bring with them instead of having to put on wizard robes.
Twenty minutes later, Hermione, dressed in jeans and a loose light blue sweatshirt, stood in front of the mirror again, and after taking a closer look, Hermione breathed a sigh of relief after making sure that there was no difference except for the dark circles under her eye sockets.
The bag was a little loose from being emptied, but Hermione didn't care, she stood behind the dorm door for several minutes, and finally, taking a deep breath, pulled open the door and walked out of the dorm.
Hermione made her way up the spiral staircase to the common room below, where she was greeted by her classmates who had already had breakfast. Colin, who was a year younger than her, rushed over with a camera to take a picture of her, which was the first time that Colin had only been interested in Harry, but because of this, she finally understood why Harry always looked embarrassed when Colin's request for a photo.
"Sorry, Colin, I'm a little late and I need to hurry to the auditorium for breakfast and then to the library--"
Hermione hurried past the two Creevey brothers, walked briskly to the hole behind the portrait, pushed it away, crawled out, and ran into Harry returning.
"You're up?"
Harry said in surprise as he showed Hermione a stack of bread wrapped in a napkin,
"I went to the owl shed in the morning to send a letter to Sirius, and then I waited for you in the Great Hall, and I never saw you come down, so I brought you some--"
"Oh, thank you--"
Hemin said excitedly.
"You're going to the library?"
Harry asked again, and after receiving Hermione's affirmative reply, Harry muttered 'Wait' and hurried into the common room, where he appeared in front of Hermione again with his school bag in his bag, panting a few minutes later.
"I'm going too--"
The last time they went to the library together seemed to be last school year when they wanted to help Hagrid find some litigation materials that would be beneficial to Buckbeak, so it was not difficult for Harry to understand Hermione's surprise.
"Find some information related to the paper assigned by Professor Sinnis"
Harry scratched his face in embarrassment and looked away
"Now you should focus on the competition items, there's no reason for you to bother with my and Ron's homework anymore."
Hermione pursed her lips and smiled,
"No one will attack me in the castle during the day, Harry, and of course, I know I'm going to hear a lot of nasty words-"
"Oh, you can see it."
Harry exclaimed in surprise, and then he realized that it was Hermione who was trying to hide, someone who knew him very well, and it would be strange if she couldn't see what he meant!
"Where's Ron?"
They left the hallway in front of the portrait of the fat lady and began to walk down the spiral staircase down the tower, Hermione was silent for a few seconds, and then, trying to ask Harry in a nonchalant tone.
"Still eating in the auditorium—"
Harry responded with a faint whining, "I asked him to join me, because the man who threw your name into the Goblet of Fire, his purpose was to have bad intentions towards you, maybe he could deal with you again at any time, but Ron said that there are a lot of people rushing to protect you, don't bother"
Harry muttered,
"It's not the same thing!"
Hermione's face was a little wooden, and she didn't know whether to be moved by Harry's flawed speculation and decided to carry it out, or to be sad about Ron's careful thinking.
The journey to the library was not easy.
Before she walked out of the dorm, Hermione knew that even if Professor McGonagall had told everyone that the school had determined that she had not thrown her name into the Goblet of Fire based on some speculation, she would not be able to get everyone's understanding. Therefore, she thinks that she is mentally prepared to meet the strange eyes of others.
But the reality is more serious than she imagined, along the way, the Hufflepuff school classmates she meets, they do not shy away from looking at her with disgust, they don't care how her name ends up in the Goblet of Fire, the indisputable fact is that she 'stole' the glory that belongs to Cedric alone, and to Hufflepuff alone.
Needless to say, the Slytherin looked at her and told Hermione plainly that they thought she was a clown, a wretched creature who was about to die.
Hermione had expected the Ravenclaw students to be more sensible, but that wasn't. As she and Harry were walking down a hallway, they heard several Lady Ravenclaw muttering to her, 'Who knows what's going on, maybe this is a claim to cover up the scandal'.
Harry angrily rushed up to reason with them, but Hermione grabbed her and walked on without saying a word.
The two of them arrive at the Hogwarts library, where the librarian, Lady Pince, is staring gloomily at a group of little witches hiding behind bookshelves and laughing at a boy in the reading area.
I don't know if it was the books in front of him that satisfied him, or those harassing glances, Krum grimaced and looked a little unhappy, he shook his head nonchalantly, and then, seeing that among the Hogwarts students, two people he was more familiar with also appeared in the library.
"It's you, Hemmi-Ann--"
Krum stood up, and he nimbly walked around the stool to speak to Harry and Hermione, but to his surprise, just as he was about to approach them, Harry stepped forward, blocking Hermione and staring at him with a wary gaze.
"Don't come closer—"
Harry's hand pressed into his pocket, making a gesture of pulling out his wand at any moment, and he said in a menacing tone.
