Chapter 625: The Truth
"Impossible!" Harry's thoughts froze for a few seconds before he came back to his senses, and he said firmly, "Professor Brian and Charlie won't suspect that you poisoned the dragon Hermione was dealing with, Hagrid!" ”
"I don't know--" Hagrid said in a panic, "I was about to go over and see what was going on—"
"Where are they, Hagrid, let's go together!"
Sirius said that he was obviously aware of the seriousness of the matter, and now that the eyes of the entire European wizarding community were on Hogwarts, what would people say in front of so many people? Any kind of gossip can appear.
So, led by Hagrid, the three of them hurriedly walked along the edge of the amphitheater and made a small half-circle to the tunnel where the fire dragon was temporarily housed. When they reached the tunnel, the dragon tamers were carrying the sleeping Welsh green dragon into the tunnel in a horse-drawn carriage, and they crowded the tunnel, leaving Harry and the others waiting.
After the Welsh green dragon descended, the dragon trainers quickly pushed a black fire dragon from the slope of the tunnel.
Ooh!
Sirius exclaimed at the sight of the Hungarian tree, and Harry looked at it in horror.
The dragon, with its dark scales, was much larger than the Swedish short-nosed dragon and the Welsh green dragon of the previous time, and even if it was curled up in a cage and couldn't stretch out, it was at least thirty feet long, and its neck and tail were covered with sharp bronze spikes!
This terrifying tree peak was much more energetic than the previous two dragons, and it let out a terrible roar, clattering against the iron cage, and the dragon tamers who escorted it did not dare to approach the cage, only using magic to urge the carriage forward.
"Why doesn't it breathe fire?"
Harry asked a nonsensical question.
"They sealed its movement with a fire ban spell, otherwise, no one would dare approach it when it awakens!"
Although trouble came to the door, Hagrid's eyes were still full of longing as he looked at the tree peak.
Harry didn't know what Krum was going to do with the behemoth, he was glad he wasn't dealing with such a terrifying creature.
"Let's go--" Sirius said with a little regret, "let's get things sorted out, and maybe we'll have time to see the end a little--"
The three of them trotted all the way down to the underground pit, which was a huge underground space, and a circle of torches were inserted into the rock walls around it, which reflected the cave extremely brightly and made the place warm.
Fleur's Welsh green dragon was still sleeping, and Cedric's Swedish endnose was awake, but the short-nosed dragon was immobile. Harry discovered that the Brachynose's massive body was bound all over, and that it was bound by a gray, transparent, chain-like end-to-end script.
These magic words wrapped around the short-nosed dragon's body, emitting a slight glow, solidifying the space around it.
There were two holes in the ground, two people and a silver phoenix hovering in mid-air, Harry only had to be in a trance to know who the phoenix was, it was Professor Dumbledore, Professor Dumbledore had sent a message to Professor Bryan in this form on the night of the Quidditch World Cup.
"You're here?"
Amosta, who was holding his hands behind his back, heard the movement, turned around and smiled at the three of them.
What's going on?
Confusion flashed in Harry's eyes, there had been another accident at the Triwizard Tournament, and it was still in the middle of the match, but Professor Bryan didn't seem to be in a bad mood. The blue eyes of the silver phoenix were also aimed at them, and as usual, they were still calm and unwavering.
Charlie's performance was in line with Harry's expectations, he half-knelt in front of a puddle of red fire dragon, his face was broken, and he tried to get some black paste from the gaps in the fangs of the flames, and there were already many of them on the ground at his feet.
"Give me an explanation, Hagrid!"
Charlie also spotted Hagrid walking in, and he didn't care why Harry and Sirius were here for a while, and yelled angrily at Hagrid.
"Professor Dumbledore, Professor Blaine—"
Hagrid screamed helplessly, and he hurriedly stepped forward to stare at the black paste on the ground, and his face turned pale in an instant.
"Oh, this. This, I bought it from Tumbledown Alley--"
Hagrid stared blankly at the silver phoenix, "It's what I use to quiet those magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest, you know, Professor Dumbledore, those guys are so fond of fighting, I have to keep them quiet while I'm healing them—"
Harry and Sirius looked at Hagrid in amazement. They all knew Hagrid very well, and knew that although he was dizzy a lot of the time, he was never ambiguous when dealing with magical creatures, and the fire dragon was Hagrid's favorite magical creature, how could he-
"Are you confused, Hagrid!"
Charlie wiped the black paste on his fingers on his robe, stood up and said angrily,
"How can you get that kind of thing into the feed of this Chinese fireball, at least twenty pounds, don't tell me you're going to get yourself a dragon egg when the fire dragon is dizzy!"
Harry couldn't argue for Hagrid, maybe Hagrid might have taken a risk for the sake of the dragon egg—
"I didn't, Professor Dumbledore!"
Hagrid shouted aggrievedly,
"The food I prepared for the four fire dragons last night is all their favorite food, and they have been eating this for the past ten days or so, and there has never been a problem."
"Did you personally give food to the dragon, Hagrid?" Dumbledore asked calmly.
"No, there was a bit of a strife in the woods, and the centaurs didn't know what they were suddenly expelling the magical creatures nearby, and the descendants of Aragog were killed and wounded, and they sent a little guy to report to me, so I went over and checked--"
"And who did you entrust?"
Sirius asked solemnly, sensing the problem as well.
"It's Dongmu—"
Hagrid felt like someone had been choked by the throat, and he gasped with difficulty,
"It's been helping me deliver food to the dragon all this time, and it's very familiar with that road. Oh, I think it's pretty brave, it didn't dare go near the dragon at first."
"Dongm?" Sirius asked, "Who's that?" ”
"It's a house-elf that Miss Hermione Granger accidentally saved, and she's been fostering it with Hagrid—"
Dumbledore glanced at Amosta and said calmly.
The vast underground cavern fell silent, and everyone fell silent, and Harry stared at Hagrid dumbfounded, gradually realizing that things might not be what he had suspected.
"So, this house-elf is thinking."
Sirius's expression suddenly became interesting, and he looked at Amosta,
"But I don't understand how it made sure Hermione's opponent was the red dragon?"
"Oh-"
Amosta smiled,
"It did make a move during the draw, and I didn't pay attention to it, but I didn't expect Dom to do it so thoroughly. I'm guessing it was trying to make the Chinese Fireball less energetic when it came on the field, so that Hermione would face a lighter challenge, but alas, it didn't have a good idea of how much potion to use—"
