Chapter 637: Guidance
Ron rushed down the spiral staircase of the dormitory as fast as he could in his life, and the mess in the common room had not yet been cleaned up, and he flew over a pile of bottles that had fallen to the ground, ignoring the angry accusations of the fat lady who had woken up from his sleep, and ran like the wind down the corridor in front of the portrait.
In the middle of the night at the end of November, the castle was filled with a bone-chilling cold, and the torches on both sides of the walkway were confined to small flames by the cold, which did not provide much warmth at all.
But Ron didn't feel cold at all, and the fire burning in his heart made his skin red.
He didn't know why he wanted to make this attempt, what was supporting him to make this attempt, but he wanted to give it a try, even if he knew that there was a high chance of failure, he would go, otherwise, he would probably regret it for the rest of his life.
It's likely that Professor Bryan is already resting, but that's okay, he can wait until he gets up. Filch and his Lady Loris may be patrolling the castle and are likely to be caught and locked up. Oh, that's even more innocuous to do.
The coin he held in his palm seemed to be heating up, conveying a wave of faith to him, urging him to run faster.
The road from Gryffindor Tower to Professor Blaine's office was not untraveled, but never had he thought this time would be so long, he ran as hard as he could, and his wheezing even overwhelmed the wind whistling on both sides of the corridor.
The lights in Professor Bryan's office are still on, which is undoubtedly good news.
Standing in front of the door, Ron's raised hand did not fall for a long time, and he mustered all the courage to come here, make an attempt, complete a self-redemption.
"I've failed enough anyway--"
Ron grunted under his breath, and finally knocked on the door.
"Come in, Ron--"
Before the door opened, Professor Bryan in the room already knew who was knocking on the door, which was nothing to the world's leading magician, but the calm, gentle voice soothed Ron's beating heart a little.
Amosta closed the spellbook in front of him and said to the door. He saw Ron walk in with determination, the kid's face flushed, beads of sweat on his forehead, and he looked like he had been running all the way.
"Sit down--"
Amosta gestured to the couch and got up from behind his desk.
"What do you want to drink, pumpkin juice or milk?"
"Oh, no—" Ron said hesitantly.
"Then the milk—"
Amosta waved his wand, and a silver cup filled with milk appeared in front of Ron, who smiled and said,
"It's not a good idea to get your body high in the middle of the night, so I recommend drinking a glass of milk to help you sleep—"
There was a sense of non-denial in Professor Blaine's gentle tone, Ron pursed his lips, he took a sip of hot milk from his cup, however, his breath was not yet soothing, this sip of milk directly made him breathe, and the whole person coughed and spasmed.
"I'm sorry, Professor Bryan, I. Ahem, I'm a little excited—"
"Oh, you can see--"
Amosta smiled,
"At the same time, I guessed that you must have something very important to talk to me about-"
Ron wiped the corners of his mouth with the back of his hand, listening to Professor Blaine's words, he moved his shoulders uneasily, and after a little silence, he nodded,
"It's important things. For me"
Amosta made an inviting gesture and kept listening.
Ron clenched his fists tightly, his eyes wandering.
Professor Blaine's office had been here for a long time, and it was as modest as ever. If it were someone like Filch who couldn't do anything but trouble the students, it was right to use such a rudimentary office, but for Professor Bryan, a great wizard whose reputation had spread all over the world, even no less than Dumbledore's, it was unthinkable for Ron to maintain such an unpretentious style.
But Ron knew very well that no one would look down on Professor Bryan because of this, and his majesty was not built on that.
Gurgle-
Ron stretched out his clenched fist and let go, and the Merlin coin fell off the table, and after circling around a few times, it finally fell silent,
"This is the commemorative coin you gave me, Professor Blaine, yes. Well, after the incident of the Secret Room--"
Ron's heart was beating fast and his mouth was too dry to bear, but he didn't touch the milk.
"Oh, yes, I'm glad you kept it around, it's a gift for appetite, isn't it?"
Amosta's gaze flashed away from the coin, and he looked at Ron, patient.
"I love it—" Ron said.
"That's good—"
Amosta chuckled, "I thought you were going to give it back to me?" ”
The fast-beating heart pumped the rushing blood into the brain, Ron felt dizzy, he clenched his fist again, and the nail cover was even embedded in the palm of his hand, there had never been a moment, Ron felt so embarrassed, but even so, he still had to say what he was here for,
"I want to give this coin back to you, oh. No, I mean, can I use it to make a request to you? ”
"What is it?" Amosta said calmly.
"I think. If I could, I'd like to retake your class, Professor Brian! ”
The first half of the sentence stammered, but at the end of the request, Ron said it very resolutely, and after asking everywhere, he seemed to have unloaded a thousand pounds of burden, and most of the heavy pressure on his shoulders disappeared at once.
Ron watched Professor Bryan pick up the coin from the coffee table and play with it on his fingertips, and it dawned on him that this coin was his favorite thing, not only because it was worth a lot of money, but because it represented something.
A long silence came suddenly, and this silence was extremely torturous for Ron, like a trial, but the final result was never revealed.
"Hermione made the same request to me—"
"What?"
Ron, who was nervously waiting for Professor Bryan to agree or refuse, didn't expect to hear such a sentence, and he subconsciously called out.
"I mean, Miss Hermione Granger came to me in the hope that I would be able to re-admit students who had given up PE to come back to this class, and of course, I know exactly who she's doing it for-"
Ron's face couldn't hide his astonishment,
"When did this happen, Professor Bryan?"
"Well——, on the day Winter's birth, Hermione came to me to ask for this."
Amosta said, looking at Ron, who opened his mouth in disbelief, and smiled slightly,
"Think it's incredible, Ron, your friends care more about you than you think—"
Hermione had come to Professor Bryan in order to get him back into the physical education program, but why didn't she say anything?
Ron fell silent, thinking he should know why.
The kettle on the mantelpiece was gurgling, Amosta got up and walked over to the fireplace to make himself tea, Ron's face turned sideways, his eyes following Professor Blaine, the crimson fire shining on his face, but not able to stain his pale cheeks.
Hermione had already approached Professor Bryan for him, so what was the result?
This is a question that needs not be talked about.
Amosta walked back to the sofa leisurely with a teacup, he looked at the big boy sitting opposite him, with an indescribable loss in his eyes, and sighed slightly,
"Get this coin back, Ron--"
Amosta said,
"This is my coin for you, Ron, but it's not a wishing coin."
Ron took the commemorative coin back, but his fingertips were trembling, obviously he had foreseen this possibility before he came, and he was ready to regret it even if he was rejected, but at this moment, the huge sense of loss overwhelmed him like a flood, making him unable to think rationally at all, and even Professor Bryan didn't let him leave at all, he himself staggered to his feet, and walked towards the door like a distracted person.
"Let me give you some kind reminders, Ron-"
Amosta looked at Ron until he reached the door and then suddenly spoke.
Ron turned abruptly, and he looked at Professor Bryan with longing eyes, like a drowning man grasping at a straw!
"--As long as you want to improve, it's never too late. And then. You see, it's not a shame to ask a friend for help—"
