Chapter 5: Alexia's Black Tea
"Do you know what this is?"
As she walked, Alexia suddenly stopped in front of a display case and turned to Wren and asked.
Wren was thinking about it at the time, and was almost startled when Alexia asked about it.
Alexia's eyes narrowed: "I always think that your little head seems to be thinking something not very good?" β
Wren suddenly came to his senses, and quickly shook his head: "No, no, I definitely didn't think about how good-looking you are!" β
"Heh, it's useless for you to flatter me. Tell me, what do you think of this thing? β
Wren followed Alexia's gaze and found that in the display case was a silver-white armor with gold trim, although it was cleanly cared for, it still could not hide the traces on it, majestic and full of historical vicissitudes.
Especially in the helmet, a crack made by a sharp object extends from the right eye to the chin, through which only the darkness in the helmet can be seen.
I don't know if the original owner of this armor survived this attack, this was the first thought Wren had when he saw it, because the crack was really impressive.
Glancing at the introduction board next to him, the small print was a little unclear, and Wren could only see the largest words: Alan Weir Paladin Armor.
"Paladin? Is there a Paladin class here? β
Wren asked subconsciously, and then he remembered that the person standing next to him would not explain himself well.
Who knew that Alexia was unusual, and told him the story of this armor in detail.
"Alan Weil Paladin Armor, it also has another name, Karsham Fanatic Armor. Karsham is an organization of paladins that has existed for more than 3,000 years, and their base camp is located in what is now the Republic of Talon. This is a special organization that fights for faith and glory. All Kalsham paladins need to be educated in strength and faith at the base camp, and when the higher authorities think he can take on the duties of a paladin, the archbishop will give him an honorable title to leave the base camp and travel to exercise justice. β
Wren listened carefully, and then asked, "Then is there no Paladin Order now?" I don't think I've heard of such an organization. β
Alexia maintained her flat tone, as if she hadn't heard Wren's question, and as if she was answering him.
"Alan Vale was the last paladin to be given the title and the last archbishop of the Order. Twenty years ago, Alan Weil accepted the proposal of the World Conference, believing that there was no reason for Karsham to exist anymore. The order of the world should be maintained by the law, the military, the individual states, not by a free group like Karsham. Also disbanded that year was the Adventurer's Guild, which had existed for more than 4,000 years, for the same reason, believing that these unregulated groups that wielded their supernatural powers at will were hindering social stability. β
"Boy, what do you think about this?" Alexia asked suddenly.
"Me?" Wren thought about it carefully, and he felt that this was not the same as the relationship between the imperial court and the various major sects in the martial arts novels he had read before.
Besides, 200 years ago, the world was already considered a modern society, and what country would want to have a large number of unregulated adventurers or paladins who advocated "countering violence with violence"?
So he replied, "I think that's quite right, like Brika City, if the security team can maintain law and order in the city, then there are more adventurers or something, which will add more trouble to them." β
"Well, Alan Weir at the time had the same idea as you, so he voluntarily disbanded the Knights of Karsham. And donated this armor of his own to the Brika Historical Museum. If the world could remain stable, he said, there would be no need for people like them. This armor full of scars is left here, letting people know how hard life was in the past and how hard it is to live now. β
"Great guy." Wren commented, and silently jotted down the name Alan Weil. "By the way, why did you stop here to introduce this armor, and you still know its story very clearly, is there anything special about it?"
Wren carefully examined the broken armor against the glass a few times, but no matter how he looked at it, he couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.
After all, there are so many things in this museum.
Alexia suddenly reverted to her previous listless state, as if she hadn't heard Wren's question. She yawned and turned to leave, beckoning as she went, "Go." β
Wren: "......."
A few minutes later, the two finally arrived at the guard room.
It's just that the messy situation inside makes Wren a little unable to move his legs.
It's not dirty, it's mainly too messy, just like Alexia, and it feels like throwing this girl into this room is like wearing a camouflage uniform, and you can't tell it at all.
Not to mention all kinds of documents, there are also a lot of messy clutter, a totem pole of an unknown tribe twenty or thirty centimeters thick is pressed on the desk, and a bunch of metal helmets are stuffed under the table.
Far from the corner of the door, there is also a stone tablet more than two meters high, and the gap under the stone tablet reveals the hilts of several swords.
Wren couldn't help but complain: "Is this a guard room or a warehouse?" Also, this place is so similar to your style, in fact, you are not a docent, you are a doorman...... Sister, huh? β
"Don't care about such trivial things." Probably back to her "nest", Alexia was a little less lazy, and she said to Wren, "We're going to wait here for two hours, do you want something to drink?" β
"Is there any happy water?"
"No, I only have black tea."
Wren: It's only black tea, so what else do you ask me to drink? Wait, something seems wrong.......
I saw Alexia rummaging on the table for a long time, and even the totem pole was thrown aside by her casually.......
"What are you looking for? Would you like to help? Wren asked in a whisper, trying to be as polite as possible, hoping to make the other person forget about the previous incident.
"No, I found it." After pulling a pile of papers to the ground, Alexia seems to have finally found what she was looking for.
When she turned around, Wren saw that the other man was holding a disposable paper cup that had been squished.
Alexia evened out the cup with one hand, and with the other she cast a spell that swirled a stream of water into the cup.
She walked up to Wren, shook the paper cup twice, and said, "Come, drink." You're lucky, there's a little bit of leftover from last year's drink under the cup, and you can still drink it after it melts with some water. β
Wren glanced into the cup, the cup of black tea... Let's call it black tea for the time being, it's a little bit red, of course, it's more likely that Rennes is dazzled, because it's really too light.
Moreover, last year's drink leftovers..... It's been in that place for so long......
The corners of Wren's mouth twitched twice, "This...... Can I skip it....."
"No~~"
Alexia showed Wren's first smile of the day, and for a moment, Wren thought it was pretty goodβand dangerous.
"Don't!! Woooo
