Chapter 2: Do We Have Friends? I do not know
I'm a sunflower.
Isn't that great?
But now the sun itself is asleep, and its soft warmth has left this world, waiting for a new day.
- It's so unfortunate.
However, I found warmth elsewhere.
I stood on top of a tall wooden frame and turned my head, my bulbous head still growing. I looked at the source of the fire, at the ugly flowers, my savior and abductor, sitting in front of it.
Be careful, friend. Fire is dangerous.
I looked at the fire. It's a lot like the sun.
But it was too late. I had to prepare for the next day.
After all, the sun is coming out soon, and I don't want to miss it.
Ugly Flower looked at me, and I straightened up from my hunched position. I straightened my stems and pressed my leaves tightly against myself, facing east, looking forward to the rising sun, just at the end of the night.
I have a moon above my head.
But I don't like the moon.
I'm a sunflower.
I'm not moonflower.
Good night, everyone.
It is a "trolley".
We're trapped.
It would be more appropriate to say that the car was stuck.
"it! Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck shit" thud, and she banged the carriage with her rootless stump. When the vibration reached me, I trembled.
Aside from the tremors, I'm happy with my job now. I might want more dirt, though. My roots are dry and I'm a little thirsty.

The wooden thing I was put in, she called it a cart.
I know this because the ugly flower is flareing up, hissing and fussing like a wounded animal. That's what she called when she first got angry, and I didn't quite understand the reason behind that.
I think her car broke down?
I seemed to be standing at a strange angle.
-Never mind.
I spread out the leaves and turned my face towards the jubilant sun, which brought a fresh morning.
Why don't you come with me, friend? We can bask in the sun together. There is no need to be angry.
She didn't do this and continued to wrestle with the car for a while.
I enjoy the sun as much as she does.

I'm a sunflower.
There are many questions that may be asked in a person's life. Why am I here? What is my purpose? Where am I going? Why am I still alive?
It looks silly.
My leaves were shaking and my stems were swinging as she held me. We had to leave the carriage behind. It's irretrievable, a bit like my precious seed, stolen from me by the Demon Bird.
- I will never be able to recover from that nightmare.
As for Ugly Flower, she still seems to be angry. However, she didn't leave me behind.
I don't mind either way. I would have liked to spend a little more time in the car, which is closer to the sun.
But it's also good. Never mind.
I wish she would bury me soon.
I am a thirsty sunflower.

It seems like a lot of fun to move like this. It almost made me wish I could move on my own.
I imagined I would walk all day after the sun came out. In that case, I would never be without it.
- A dream.
My ugly friend continued to make a fuss and whisper curses as we moved.
What a stupid guy. I don't understand why she doesn't look at the sun for a while?

It will make her feel a little better.
I am happy.
-[Sunflower]-
You've had enough
I extinguished.
Water was gurgling around us. A stream runs through the world. Beautiful daylight shines on its glittering cobalt surface. I face the sun, but my roots sink deep into the pit that my ugly friend has dug for me, greedily sipping the blood of life in the world; Water.
The soil here is fertile and moist. It's good soil. My roots are not alone. There's a lot in the dirt; Worms, fungi, moles. They don't enjoy the sun as much as I do myself.
I swayed my body and slowly swayed from side to side. Do I move because I move, or because the wind moves? It's hard to say.
I am a happy sunflower.
My ugly flower friend flutters and flutters like a fish.
At first, when she took the bark off, it felt strange. It makes me feel uncomfortable. What a terrible sight. But now she looks happy, unharmed, just swimming in the safe waters of the valley.
- Maybe she's not an ugly sunflower? Maybe I'm wrong? Maybe she's a fish?
She seemed happier in the water.
But I've never seen a fish, so I don't know if she's a good example.
Oh.
I looked at the sun. The weather was so nice.

In exchange, some of your photosynthetic sugars swelled up with a few small fungal nodules, which nest in your root network. The symbiotic mycelium will store and provide you with the water and nutrients it collects from the ground.
I don't know what this strange thing is that keeps coming to me. But it makes me sad. It appeared between me and the sun, obscuring its joyous gift so that I could not see it.
The thing, the word, the wood, was gone, and the sun was back to me, like the lost lover decades ago.
Hello, Sunshine. I miss you.
I arched my body and drank enough of the dirt and enough of the sun.
What a day.
My unattractive fish friend came back from the water. I don't understand what she is. But I don't find it to be a cause for concern.
She seems to have found something she likes, and that's good.
I was so moved that I took my eyes off the sun for a moment to observe the world around us.
It's not because I find it more appealing than the sun. The sun has captured my heart. No. It's just cloudy. So the sun hid from me. Instead, I'm going to see what's here.
There is a stone.
I turned my head.
There is a tree.
I turned my head.
Over there. Another tree.
Wow, what a wonderful world. It's so beautiful. I was surprised. I never knew there were so many rocks and trees.
All I know is my field, next to the forest. We don't have a creek. We had some rocks, but only a few, and the trees were further away from us, competing with each other for sunlight as if sunlight was a finite thing.
Trees are short-sighted. There is enough sunshine for all of us.
I looked at a tree as we passed it.
It didn't look to my side, and there was clearly something more important to do. Never mind.
I don't like trees.
At the same time, my ugly fish friend was buzzing. It's weird. She makes sounds like a bird. It scared me at first. I thought she was going to take my seeds. Now she's gone from chirping to buzzing, however, she reminds me of a confused bee.

I'm worried she's planning to pollinate me.
My head slowly turned away, facing the sky. I pulled the leaves tighter and pressed against my body.
- I'm not ready, friend. My seeds are not ripe yet. In addition, I think that one sunflower, ugly or not, is not suitable for pollinating another sunflower. The same applies to the buzzing fish, whose beauty I cannot judge due to lack of knowledge.
The sun came back from behind the clouds and rescued me from this awkward situation.
I'm a sunflower.
But maybe I'm too picky?
It's not my friend's fault, she's a horrible, deformed thing. She seemed kind and happy, and although she was a little weird and stole me out of my realm, I was really grateful that I could see so much of the world.
Before I looked back at the sun, I saw a large pile of dirt.
Wow......
I am a sunflower in awe.
