Chapter 4: Today is a Good Day. I was needed

As we walked, a suitor came along.

I lifted my petals, and I covered my face as it came towards me. A bee.

The fat bee buzzed, searching the ground for beautiful flowers. I was flattered. Thank you, little bee. But I'm not ready.

- Moreover, you make my friend nervous.

My mushroom friend stared at the bee warily and quickened his pace.

However, this bewildered bee, not knowing why I was moving in such an unusual way, chased me.

This upset my mushroom friend.

I don't know why we're moving, honey. But that's just the way it is. I've found that it's better not to worry about it. After all, the weather is so nice today.

The bees were indifferent to my explanations and continued to chase after us, indifferent to the protests of my mushroom friends. She let out a frightened chirp and ran away again.

Running so many miles can seem stressful.

I wondered, the next time we stopped, could I teach her how to relax properly? She just had to bury her roots in the soil and stand next to me so we could watch the sun together.

All these things that are not buried are very unhealthy. She does look like that, and I'm sure if the other sunflowers could see me, they would think the same way about me.

But that's okay.

I've seen the world. I witnessed incredible wealth. There are a lot of trees. There is a very large stone. I was taken to the water's edge. Now, a bee is in love with me.

-Unrequited love.

What a life I lived.

I am a blessed sunflower.

A heart is broken, and my suitor has no choice but to give up the chase because we are too far from her route.

But that's okay. This kind of thing can be done until I'm older.

They can wait until my friend finally settles down. It's rude to let yourself run after being pollinated.

Bees deserve better.

I love bees.

They have the same fuzzy yellow color as the sun.

This happens quite often. The word "wood" does like to come up often.

I don't know what that means.

I'm still angry with the word "wood" because a few days ago by the creek it blocked my sunlight.

Maybe it's unfair to me?

My friend seems to love it every time he sees it appear. The expression on her face was strange and I couldn't understand it.

- Why do its parts move?

Her eyes opened and closed. Her soft punctuates of flesh were just below them, recessed inward, in and out. Her mouth was moving. But she doesn't say anything, instead, she seems to just distort and change the traits according to the environment and time.

How strange.

Mushrooms are very strange creatures.

If the word "wood" makes my friend happy, then I will be happy too. Even if I don't quite understand why.

The sun is beautiful today. I hope we can take another break soon. I want to have a drink.

Actively deliver stored solar energy through your petals to a distance equal to your WIS (in meters).

Heals all rooted creatures equal to your intelligence.

Ambient magic currents exist throughout the world, organically originating from powerful nodes and leyli

I don't understand what that means.

But my mushroom friend was very excited. I stared at her, wondering why she was looking at me and not the sun? Or is she just looking at the word "wood"?

I guess in a way, it's funny, like that big rock.

- That's funny.

Maybe I'm really unkind to the word "forest"? There must be something good about that, isn't it? If it could make a mushroom like her happy.

I shook the leaves and it felt good.

My friend stuck my roots in the soil and gently buried them, for which I am grateful.

Night is here again.

I want to know; What will the sun look like tomorrow?

She sat next to me as the two of us watched the ruby sun slowly disappear over the distant horizon. I was sad to see it go, as it does every day.

As the world darkened, I turned to the east, hoping that the sun would rise again tomorrow.

My friend made a fire and lay between me and the fire.

I noticed that she was also facing east.

She's learning.

Good.

We found a gray area.

My friend is not happy, despite the fresh sun to keep us company. I don't understand her reasoning.

The gray place is strange. It's unlike anything I've seen before. There is no grass. There are rocks there, but they look strangely square and evenly shaped. They are piled up and then, judging by the appearance of things, they are separated again.

Ash was scattered on the dirt and remnants of small logs.

Almost everything is covered in volcanic ash.

Ash is good for the soil. Fire is dangerous, but it's also a great boon if it's in the right place at the right time. Ash contains many nutrients and minerals, and once the heat and flame are gone, it makes the soil fertile.

The flames here seem to have been extinguished. But the ashes remain. their luminous intensity.

- This fire is not that old.

My mushroom friends don't like gray places. I could see it because of her movements. She was nervous. Her manners and posture are not suitable for this sunny day.

I found myself indifferent to it, gray place.

A bird was singing next to me, and I nervously turned my head, but saw nothing.

Bones strewn the streets. They look like they have been gnawed clean by the fire and predators in the area.

We passed through a small hole. Inside, I saw a dead thing. It looks like my ugly friend. It is deformed, with two stumps above and two stumps below. It also has meat.

- But it doesn't have a head.

How unusual.

There's a lot more like her. I didn't realize it. Maybe she's not a mushroom at all? Maybe I'm wrong? Mushrooms are not like that, and mushrooms do not have bones.

She can't be a mushroom.

What are you, friend?

I do not know.

I'm a sunflower.

We're hiding again.

Why are we hiding?

I don't like it here. It was dark. It's crowded. The sun can't find me here. This is the most unpleasant.

I was buried in the dirt and drank from the fertile and moist soil of the secluded woods. I build nests among trees, and they steal most of my sunlight. My friend was hiding in a hollow log next to me. She was quiet. I'm quiet.

It is peaceful.

The non-bird is coming. Are they chasing us from the forest? Or are they another group of non-birds?

I do not know.

I'm a sunflower.

They must be the people of that gray area. I guess they turned it grey.

I watched them, these non-birds, they washed the woods. They are emaciated, sniffing creatures with long, elongated, gray-green hands with long, jagged, spiky claws. One of them will eat meat. Judging by the shape of the head of the gnawed stump in its hand, it looked like the same kind of ugly friend of mine.

My friend also has such a stump.

Screaming stuff.

I turned my head. Looks like they found her.

How unfortunate.

I watched as she kicked and punched, the non-birds surrounding the log, and a series of clawed hands tugging at her. They seem to have a handful of her brown petals.

- Is it a flower petal? Does she have flower petals?

I do not know. I've never seen petals like this. But if she's not a flower, I don't think she can have petals.

How confusing.

I think she's going to be out of luck because she's going to be eaten. A disgrace. I love being held.

I looked back at the sky to see if I could find the sun. But I can't. Tall, verdant trees stole most of the sunlight and blocked my view. Only one seems to be able to find me.

I'm not happy about that. I want more sunshine.

The silence was ruined by the incessant screams.

I'm not happy about that either.

Unpleasant.

I turned around and looked at the mess. They seemed to drag her out of the wood, and she tried to repel them, but there were a lot of non-birds there, and there was only one of them. In addition, she was physically weak and could only be nourished by sleep, water, and sunlight.

Even I need minerals from the soil.

When she was caught, she fell to the ground, her paws digging into the dirt, trying to get rid of the non-birds as they grabbed her bark and tore at it.

Please be quiet.

More screaming. I don't like it. This is the worst. Today is such a peaceful day, can we all sit quietly in the sun?

The non-birds screamed, screamed, howled like dying animals, fell to the ground, and clutched their faces.

Annoyingly, my friend was still screaming, looking at me, looking around, at the non-birds that were crawling up. They seem to be angrier now than before. Her fingers dug deep into the earth like roots.

It's troublesome.

Oh.

Many of the screams are now quiet. I looked at the non-birds, and watched their rough, bird-like eyes ignite. It was as if the sun was burning brightly on their faces.

What a pleasure.

They lay dead on the ground, spasmodic like little bugs.

I love bugs.

They make the soil fertile. Bugs are my friends.

Maybe she's a bug?

I looked at my earthworm friend, who was also writhing, pulling her hands out of the dirt and writhing, trying to stand up on her trembling legs. She often hides underground. She squirmed. She must be a nuisance.

Something stirred to the side. A non-bird, still alive, lying on the ground, trying to get up.

My friend screamed and grabbed a rock and smashed it into his head.

Please be quiet.

I'm trying to enjoy the little sunshine I can get.

She continued to scream, and the rock continued to move. It turned red.

What a beautiful thing. I've never seen red rocks before.

I watched her for a moment until her screams died down. But she continued to stone the non-bird's skull. She and it are both red.

It doesn't matter, I'm facing the sky. Perhaps, if I'm lucky, more sunlight will soon shine through this little crevice.

-I hope so.

I'm a sunflower.

Something continued to crackle around me. But at least no more screaming.

What a pleasure. Sounds like water.

Blood is good for the soil.

I am a thirsty sunflower.

Experiencing a symbiotic relationship similar to a fungus, your roots can now thrive and embed themselves in any blood-rich soil. You will get valuable metals and nutrients that would otherwise not be easy to get.

Rich in potassium, phosphorus, and nitrogen, the soil soaked in blood turns into blood meal after drying, making it a very effective fertilizer. Given its nature, it is difficult to obtain under normal living conditions.
