Obstacles - Chapter 12.2
"What can you do?" He said. She stood there with her hands behind her back and looked at him as if he was the only interesting thing in the world. It occurred to him that he really was. She stood there, leaning forward slightly, looking eager to make a friend. Her emotions seemed as readable as Flower's.
"I can dance. I danced very well. Wolf SCA
Said the same. Do you want to see it? She asked, almost begging.
"So you can dance, huh?" I think I want to see. Why don't you show it to me?" He said and sat down. It doesn't hurt to indulge a little.
She smiled, and walked to the center of the pit, where there weren't so many dead animals to trip over. Then she gave him an awkward, shy smile. When she hadn't started yet, he said, "Go ahead, you can do it." Let me see your dance. β
"No one has spied on me except for the wolf scar, so now I'm a little scared," she explained. "But I can do it." She took a deep breath and exhaled again with the same firmness. Then she stretched out her arms and started dancing.
Of course, it's a simple and childish thing to do, with lots of bows and tips, and a few clappings. There were indeed places where she had to stand on one leg, move around, and keep her balance, and she did it all like a festival performer. When she finished, he applauded, and she smiled brightly.
She walked over and sat down next to him as if nothing had happened. He was both fascinated and amused, so he put his arm around her and gave her a small hug. It reminded him of how hesitant he had been to show any affection for his children, and he wondered if he had made a mistake. Although now he remembered that the boys needed food to survive, and the little girl needed love. Maybe it's no different. If Diokles and Thai were here, they would all agree.
After a moment of silence, she said, "The first time I saw you, you looked terrible. But then I thought, if you're on my side, I'm going to want you to be the most terrible person ever. So I'm glad that that person is you and no one else. So I'm really happy when you wake up. I just wanted to tell you. β
He smirked and said, "I guess I'm on your side, right?"
She nodded wisely. Then, with unease in her voice, she asked, "Can I ask you for another favor when we get out of here?" Will you take me with you when we go out? Or, are you going to, well, once we're out, the rest of the way will take me alone? I just thought I might get lost. I'm just a little girl and I don't know where we are. β
No wonder she tried so hard to attract him. "Girl, do you think I'm going to throw you down in front of the cave and run away?"
"Well, I don't know," she said.
"I'm not going to do that."
She meekly replied, "Will you say yes?"
"What do you think I'm for?" So be it: I swear to you that I will throw you into the arms of someone who will take care of you. By the name of the father of Arkos and of Theocles, I assure you. I've never broken it," he said, a little proud because he was telling the truth.
"Oh, thank you!" She said, relieved. Then, she hugged him tenderly, arms almost around his torso, as best she could. He hugged her half-heartedly, and she sighed, relaxed, still holding him. For a moment, they just sat with her, not wanting to let go. Androcles really began to wonder if the gods were trying to stop him from finding Della. Where the hell is he going to leave Gabi? He could take her back to the basket, but did he want to face Agunn and his children, or rather, her children so quickly? His plan was "never", and he made it very clear to him. What will the gods put in front of him when he has dealt with little Galby?
Although "Flower" and "Little Pepper" would like the little girl, he still believes it. He could already see that she was more energetic and cunning than they were. There's no doubt that she'll soon have them running errands for her, and they'll love every minute like this. He could almost hear the flowers giggling as he chased them across the meadow, and Pepper frolicked as he pressed her to the ground and scratched her. The gods are above, and he has only been away from the basket for a whole day?
Suddenly, the cyclops howled very, very loudly, enough to make Anjex's ears ache. Gabby screamed and covered her ears and ducked as low as she could. A

Okles looked at the top of the pit, expecting to see it lunge towards him, only to be surprised to see the spear bounce off and land nearby. It is still intact.

Okles guessed that the cyclops had figured out how to pop the spear off its back and then accidentally let it fly, and he wasn't going to let this opportunity slip away from him. He hurriedly grabbed it and stood up, ready to stand there when the monster was peering out from the edge of the pit. Androcles jumped up and stretched his spear as far as he could, aiming it at the thing's eyes, but it blinked reflexively, and he only scratched its eyelids.
It roared at him, then leaned down to pull him out. Gabby hissed in horror and ran out of the reach of the Cyclops. A

Okles walked away, stabbing at its hand. Despite the hard beating, he couldn't draw even a drop of blood. It tried a few more times, but Anders jumped away on the uneven, corpse-strewn floor. He repeatedly stabbed the cyclops in the hands and forearms at every chance he could. However, the granite-colored skin is too hard to break.
After about a minute, it gave up, gasped loudly, and stamped out of the cave. Andrew was gasping for air, but not injured. He looked at Gabi, who had curled up in a ball at the other end of the pit. "Are you okay?" He asked.
She nodded and said, "I ran away." I'm glad you're good at dodging. β
"Me too," he said.
He glanced at the spear nonchalantly, blinked vigorously, almost stunned by its incredible beauty. Its delicate, polished hardwood handle, veined with knots and rolls, is inlaid with pure gold from head to finish. Perfect gold threads depict dozens of bird and animal art forms, interlaced with vine and floral motifs. The axles are also painted with a clear and strong coat of paint, which, although very smooth, is not slippery at all. The spearhead was a pale, shiny metal, reflecting like the brightest mirror, with letters engraved at the bottom that he did not recognize. The spearhead was also a little wider than he was used to, about four times wider than the base of the hilt, and it was flat. In addition, it was exactly the same length as his infantry spear, and they had to customize the spear according to his size. Each time he went into battle with three or four pieces of armor, knowing that if one piece of armor broke, any replacement armor would be the wrong size.
"Now," he said, "it's remarkable!" How did that woodcutter get this stuff? It is even better than the ceremonial spears that the nobles carried when they worshiped the gods.
"Can I take a look?" Garbi asked, standing up and walking towards him.
"Wait a minute," he said, and held it above his head. "Oh my gosh, Patos, this may have been done by you, thank you!" Then he said to himself, "But to kill that thing, I need something more." He felt like he heard the words "better not," and it was very faint, but it was probably his imagination.
He handed the spear to Galby and told her to be careful. She looked at every inch of the pillar in amazement and repeated, "Ah, how beautiful! And name the animal she knows. When she got to the spearhead, she saw its reflection and took it to a better lit place. Then she took it up an angle and looked at her own reflection. A
d
Okles looked confused at first, then frowned, and then tears began to run down her face. She quickly put down her spear, buried her head in her knees and sat down, just in time to cry.
Androx wondered if he should pick her up or something. "What's the matter, girl?" What do you see?"
"I'm so ugly now!" She whimpered. "I'm so dirty!"
He sighed. "Oh, don't worry. In my opinion, you look good," he said, trying to comfort a seven-year-old with the right tone.
"I look like one of them!" She pointed to a corpse and shouted. "I look like I belong here!"
Androx didn't know how to answer. She does look a lot like a little girl trapped in a Cyclops' rotting food pit. "Well, I think you're beautiful, even with dirt. That's just dirt, Gabi. It was washed off. β
However, she just kept crying and was not comforted. After a while, she said, "Everything is so, so, so hard. Now I look terrible! No one will take me in. β
A

Okles walked over, grabbed her by the shoulders, and lifted her in front of him. She curled up as much as she could, and said, "Don't look!"
"Look at me. Look me in the eye, Gabi. Right. Now," he said harshly. She met his gaze hesitantly. "Now. Tell me, what did I promise you a few minutes ago?"
She looked away and said, "You're going to get me out."
"No, it's not. Look at me. Tell me what I promised you. β
She thought for a moment, then said, "You're going to put me with someone who can take care of me."
"Close. I'm talking about sending you into the arms of someone who will take care of you. I will see you in her or his arms with my own eyes. I'll keep my word, girl. I'm a man of honor. I will keep my word, even if I have to pull the gods down from their thrones. Do you understand?"
"Yes. I'm sorry. I'm just a little girl. β
He wasn't sure what she meant. She's a confusing little thing. But it doesn't matter. He thought she needed a hug, so he gave her a hug, and she hugged her affectionately.
He hugged her, and when she had calmed down a little, he was thinking about how he could get them both out. It occurred to him how comfortable it was to hold her. Somehow, it fits. It's like the shape and size of the kids is just right for their parents' arms and love.
He was about to put her down and try to jump onto the ledge when a small blue-and-white bird flew into the pit from above, illuminating the area with a faint light. Androxes took a step back in fright, nearly losing his balance and falling on his dead horse.
The bird flew towards him and stopped about three feet in front of him. Then Anchors discovered that it was not a bird at all, but a glowing little boy with what looked like insect wings on his back. The strange creature hovered in the air, giving him a stern and confused look.
"Who are you?" It asked, loud as a squirrel's voice.
Anders was just too surprised to respond immediately, but Gabby heard it, turned around, and shouted, "Wolf sca."
!β She slipped out of his arms and stood up. "Wolf sca
I'm glad you're back!" Did you bring me something to eat? This is Andlox, and he said he would come and save me. Put me in the arms of someone who will take care of me. He promised. β

Okles' face, wanting to see more clearly. The light wasn't enough to hurt Androx's eyes, but it was enough to see the details on the walls. He looked at Gabi and pointed at Wolf SCA
"What is this?"
"This? I'm a man! I'm a boy! Can't you see that? The little guy said, pointing to his childhood.
"Good. Who is he?" A

okles asked Ga
biγ
Gabby smiled and said, "He's a fairy, he's my best friend." He is very proud of his little role because he was not a boy before. β
"Why didn't he talk to me?" Wolf sca
Ask Ga
Bi, with his arms crossed, looks angry. He's really small, just a little shorter than Andlox's hand from wrist to fingertip. His appearance doesn't look much like a human, but it's close. His lilac eyes appear large compared to the rest of his body, and his long, pointed ears protrude obliquely from his head. His skin is essentially white with a hint of blue, and his purple hair matches his eyes. From toenails to unkempt hair, every part of his body glows with a dull glow. In all his travels, A
d
Okles had never heard of anything like this.
A

okles looked at Ga
Bi asked, "What is a fairy?"
"Fairy," she pointed to the wolf sca
Say, "It's one of them!"
The answer was hilarious, but it didn't help much. "Yes, but what is it?" He. β
"It's a little man," she replied.
Wolf sca
Fly to Away A

Okles was a foot away, staring at him angrily. "Why don't you ask me?" I'm right here," he said.
Andlocks felt like he was amused. "Alright, Wolfsca
γ What is a fairy?"
Wolf sca
He opened his mouth to answer, but his eyes quickly turned to the side as he thought. "The fairy is...... One of my members. I'm a fairy. β
Ga
Bi chuckled. Wolf sca
Flew over and sat on her head, glaring at A

oklesγ He said, "Well, don't make fun of me. That's a hard question! If you're so smart, why don't you tell me what a human being is?"
Gabi thought for a moment, then said, "Humans are just like ordinary people. Some are boys and some are girls. They have adults and children. β
A
d
Okles gave it a try. "Humans are the most god-like animals"
"Nope! Your wishes! Fairies are more like gods than humans. You can't even do it," he said. Then he disappeared completely, and with him his light. After a while, he reappeared, looking smug.
