Chapter 79: Buddha is the Way

[For such Wei and Jin celebrities, the general knowledge of governance is summarized very well:

Those who enter the office are noble and despise the righteousness, and those who are officials are smiling and diligent in looking at the sky.

The lazy look down on hard work, and the empty look down on the doer.

During this period, the Jin Dynasty even invented a term called vulgar officials, which was used by famous people to belittle those unsociable officials.

For example, Liu Song, who governed the place with his heart, and Fu Xian, who was an official and hateful, were ridiculed as "vulgar officials" by celebrities.

And after a thousand years in the past, looking back now, what does the real Wei and Jin style look like?

It is the ancestor of the national hero who dances when he hears the chicken, cares about the people, aspires to the Northern Expedition, crosses the river, and recovers the lost land.

It was Liu Kun who calmly went to death after the Yongjia Rebellion guarded Jinyang alone for nine years, and finally chanted "What does it mean to make steel and turn into finger wrapping".

It is Huan Wen who knows the suffering of the people, suppresses the party, changes the rule of officials, and is especially better than Cao Cao.

It is Shi Le, Liu Yuan, and Li Te, who started from the recklessness, broke the shackles of the gate valve, and soared into the sky in the wind and clouds.

These iron bones that do not fit in with the family are especially better than the brittle skin and soft bones of the Wei and Jin dynasties. 】

For everyone in the Chengdu Mansion, everyone is in troubled times, what else can they do?

As a result, the turbulent times of the Wei and Jin dynasties frequently opened their eyes.

But I can still comfort myself in front of me, I am strong, and my extravagant and lustful nature is just like this.

But...... How many people do not like to wear clothes and insult customers?

And can you be called the Seven Sages? Everyone in the hall, look at me, I look at you.

There were two generals in the middle, their eyes widening and looking at each other.

Although he didn't say a word, that look seemed to say everything.

Zhang Song, who was five short statures, jumped up directly:

"General Yide, don't you think I'm like that absurd person?"

Liu Bei directly grabbed Zhang Song's sleeve with one hand and suppressed:

"Zhang Ziqiao is rumored to be in Shuzhong because of talent, not fame, why bother?"

Zhang Song changed his attitude by the way, and was grateful:

"The one who knows the pine is none other than the lord!"

Kong Ming felt for a while that there seemed to be many pieces of the lord's "intimate little padded jacket......

After shaking his head and shaking off this thought, another old thing comes to mind:

"You Zhengping beat the drum and scolded Cao, it has been more than ten years."

So they sighed during the banquet, if it was said that the celebrity was naked, the first thing they thought of in this troubled world was this madman.

Zhang Song had also heard about it in Shuzhong, but he didn't know it very well, so he asked:

"I heard that the two of you and Cao have no grudges, just because the Cao thief didn't give him a seat, he scolded Cao naked??"

Pang Tong sneered: "You Zhengping is from Pingyuan County, Cao thief slaughtered Xuzhou, you Zhengping had to leave his hometown and take refuge in Jingzhou, why do you have no grudges?" ”

But it's not over yet, Pang Tong shook his head and continued:

"Later, You Zhengping went to Xu Du to want Shihan, and at that time, Cao Cao was appointed as the Sikong Kaifu, and intercepted talents from it, and You Zhengping also suffered from it, so the two had a grudge."

Zhang Song didn't expect that there was so much inside story in this, and when he thought of Cao Thief's background, he could understand it:

"In this way, how unbearable is this Wei and Jin celebrities?"

Seeing what happened to Wang Yan, Zhang Fei said his thoughts very bluntly:

"Big brother, now it seems that this Xiongnu Liu destroyed the Jin Dynasty, and it doesn't seem to be bad."

"It's hard for this Hun Liu to rot this Jin Dynasty, right?"

Liu Bei looked at the light curtain and sat speechless, and had a deep understanding of the word "worse than rotten" that the light curtain had said before.

The lazy can laugh at the diligent, and the empty man points fingers at the pragmatic, this court is really rotten from the root.

Zhang Fei was very interested in Shiler:

"Killing by burying an earthen wall is also a wonderful person."

For Wang Yan's death, he can only hold a contemptuous laugh:

"This Jin, all the princes of the Manchu Dynasty are such silverfish?"

It would be a waste to pay more attention to such people.

Therefore, Pang Tong moved his gaze to the end, and finally praised:

"This Jin also has such iron-clad righteous people, but it saves a little bit of face for this Jin."

Kong Ming stared at the title of national hero of this ancestor, and finally shook his head and sighed:

"I can't kill Sima Yiye."

Zhang Fei comforted:

"It's okay military advisor, when I turn around and catch it, I'll build you a wall, pick any earthen walls and stone walls, and bury them wherever you want."

Kong Ming couldn't laugh or cry, and he didn't bother to elaborate on what he wanted to kill was the thief Sima Yi of the Han people.

[And some people may think of another very famous doctrine of emptiness when they see the emptiness of Wei and Jin metaphysics, that is, Buddhism.

Before the rise of metaphysics in the Wei and Jin dynasties, Indian Buddhism had been transformed by the sages of the Han Dynasty through the first wave of localization.

To put it simply, through translation and commentary, the original Indian Buddhism was dismembered and fragmented, and finally reorganized into Buddhism with Han Chinese characteristics.

However, even after this wave of localization, the concept of "emptiness" in Buddhism is difficult to expound, and can basically only be described with the help of Confucian and Taoist classics.

Later, Wei and Jin metaphysics arose, and the word "nothing" was extracted from Zhuang Lao.

Buddhism was overjoyed: This is similar to the "emptiness" of our Buddhism.

Although there are many differences inside, in order to take advantage of the Wei and Jin metaphysics to spread the faith, Buddhism began the second wave of localization, and the original content of Hinduism was almost completely abandoned, only the Madhyamaka Prajna thought was retained, plus the Taoist thought of Wei and Jin metaphysics was introduced.

Geyi Buddhism was formed, or it has a more popular name: Zen Buddhism.

The representatives of this period were the Tiantai sect and the Huayan sect, and the spread of Buddhism also entered the first heyday.

Looking back at history, you will find that it is not complicated, from the Yellow Turban Uprising to the founding of the Tang Dynasty, the war in the middle of the 500 years has hardly been interrupted.

The precariousness of the war made everyone from the princes and nobles down to the capital of Li Minqian have a sense of disillusionment with the world.

Buddhism, on the other hand, can give people the promise of an unverifiable "afterlife", which can be called a perfect blank check.

There were many foreign monarchs in the Wuhu and Sixteen Kingdoms, and they saw Buddhism as beneficial to their rule, so they would also contribute to its development.

Even for the upper echelons, after all, even if you are the monarch of the country, looking back at the hundred years of history, you kill me and I kill you, the father kills the son, the brother kills the brother, the minister kills the king, and so on.

Buddhism provided a paralyzing effect similar to that of Wei and Jin metaphysics.

So in this process, Buddhism gradually flourished a little too much, after all, we can memorize that poem:

There are 480 temples in the Southern Dynasties, and how many buildings are in the smoke and rain.

The Southern Dynasty is talking about the Southern Liang, but the real number of Buddhist temples must be more than this, Emperor Wu of Liang has become a monk four times, almost the entire Southern Liang has been given alms, and at least 500 Buddhist temples have been built, which is only through his hands, in fact, it will only be more.

The Buddhist temple is extremely poor and magnificent, and the monks and nuns have abundant assets, with hundreds of thousands of people.

And Emperor Wu of Liang was only the most famous one of the Buddhas at that time, and the three lords of the Later Liang Dynasty and the kings of Emperor Chen were basically ordained to worship Buddha and build pagoda temples.

Not to mention the Sui and Tang dynasties, Buddhism was basically silent for a short time in the early days of Erfeng, and it entered a heyday after Xuanzang returned to China.

Looking back now, Xuanzang is undoubtedly a great person, learning from the experience of 17 years back and forth, traveling 50,000 miles, going through 138 countries, only by himself to complete, this unimaginable experience itself is one of the precious cultures of our own nation. 】

By the way, the road map of Xuanzang's westward journey was released on the light curtain.

[More importantly, the study of scriptures eventually promoted the further transformation of Geyi Buddhism, in the Tang Dynasty, Confucianism and Taoism, which tried to return to the ancient times, were basically hung up and beaten by Buddhism at the level of philosophical speculation.

In order to adapt to this change, the two schools of Confucianism and Taoism had to work hard to change, and constantly referred to the other two to enrich their philosophical thoughts, and were forced to roll up.

Finally, in the early Northern Song Dynasty, Song Confucianism integrated the developed Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism into Neo-Confucianism, and there was no possibility of Buddhism turning over in the political field after that. 】

Zhang Fei felt that he still read too few books again, but after grasping the keyword, he asked:

"Buddha is the Tao?"

Kong Ming laughed, patted Zhang Fei on the shoulder and said:

"Yide, Yide, foolish? How wise! ”

Zhang Fei smiled, and as if the military advisor was praising himself, he gladly agreed.

Kong Ming sorted out the context from it and wrote it down with a pen:

Zhuang Laozhi's theory, Wei and Jin metaphysics, Geyi Zen Buddhism, and Neo-Confucianism.

Pang Tong concluded: "It is no wonder that later generations called it the progress of society. ”

"The productive forces need to be improved, the system needs to be improved, and even the doctrine needs to be constantly improved."

Zhang Song, who was watching next to him, also nodded in agreement, and said according to his own understanding:

"There are natural dangers in Shu, which is easy to defend and difficult to attack, and is isolated from communicating with famous people from the outside world, so the sergeant of Shu is not as good as the famous masters of the Central Plains."

"In other words, is the development of Shuzhong relatively slow or stagnant?"

Kong Ming nodded: "Philosophy, wisdom, this philosophy should be a doctrine that guides people to know the world like the sages?" ”

This conjecture was quickly put aside, after all, Kong Ming was the only one among them who had really read Buddhist scriptures.

Liu Ba and Mi Zhu stared at the word "check" and whispered on the side.

Liu Bei looked at the reason for the rise of Buddhism, and the people couldn't bear it:

"People in this troubled world are really not as good as Taiping dogs."

Everyone was silent, only Zhang Fei rubbed his hands excitedly:

"Big brother, I don't agree with this."

Everyone looked sideways for a while, and mourned in advance for those wealthy families who may have blood luck in the future.

However, Liu Bei looked at Emperor Wu of Liang and was a little angry:

"This Emperor Wu of Liang...... Just like that Rongrong, they are all national thieves! ”

"Zhenrong invaded and occupied the temple and offered monks and nuns, and Emperor Wu of Liang spent the country's wealth to repair the pagoda and sculpt the Buddha statue."

"It should have been used to enrich the country and strengthen the county, and turned into a temple to pray for the afterlife."

"This Emperor Wu of Liang regards a country as a child's play, so bad!"

The subtext is just one sentence: You deserve to die in the country.

Kong Ming admired this monk very much:

"This Xuanzang, who has accomplished such a great cause by himself, thinks that he should become the sage of Han Buddhism."

"It must be another figure that has been passed down through the ages."

Now that the light curtain has been seen for a long time, he has also learned to see things from a long-term perspective.

After all, this Buddhist merit is clearly stated, and the Chinese sages also said:

"The stones of the mountain can be used to attack jade."

In Kong Ming's view, this kind of behavior of going out of the Western Regions to take the classics of other countries and blend them into his own thoughts is similar to the contention of a hundred schools of thought in the pre-Qin period.

I don't know what kind of classics are there in Rome in the distance? Kong Ming was very interested at this moment.

……

Li Shimin's eyes are shining now, and he has only one thought:

"Where is Xuanzang?"

A man with such perseverance simply coincided with the plan in his mind to send monks!

Even in the dark, he has a feeling: this Xuanzang and him must have intersected in history!

This is easy to find, Fang Xuanling replied:

"The minister sent someone to inquire about Dai Shangshu, I think there should be a record."

During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there were two martial arts to destroy the Buddha, and now there are not many temples in the Tang Dynasty, and they are basically registered.

Now looking at the light curtain's exposition of Buddhism, Li Shimin is stupid and aware of it:

"It seems that this Buddhism is still quite important to Tang."

Li Shimin was a little hesitant for a while.

If Li Shimin had been asked before today what he thought about Buddhism, he would have said without hesitation that Xiao Yan had destroyed the country because of his belief in Buddhism.

Those who seek their way have not been blessed in the future, and those who cultivate their teachings have been disappointed in the past.

This is Li Shimin's view of Buddhism, and it is often a lion with a big mouth, either a giant temple or a high pagoda.

What is he doing with all this money?

But now it seems that this Neo-Confucianism is still quite important?

Wrong! Li Shimin suddenly asked vigilantly:

"This Neo-Confucianism...... Could it be the reason why the courtiers of the Great Song Emperor were so cheeky? ”

This...... Fang Du glanced at each other, feeling hard to say.

Wei Zheng stepped forward:

"Whether you are upright or not depends on your heart, just like Your Majesty looks at the troubled times of the Wei and Jin Dynasties, is the old disaster of the gate valve because of the doctrine of the disaster?"

Of course not, this Li Shimin still understands.

It is better to say that one of the reasons for the decline of the Wei and Jin dynasties is because the banner of Confucianism has fallen.

But when he thought of Confucianism, he thought of Lu Ru, who was quite unpleasant, and Li Shimin wanted to blow his beard and stare at him for a while.

The eldest grandson Wuji can scratch Li Shimin's itch the most, and said:

"Since there is Neo-Confucianism in later generations, and after my Tang Dynasty, the family will be destroyed, isn't the Confucian family in Shandong born to be holy?"

Du Ruhui thinks it is unlikely:

"Then Song Yanyun couldn't get back the sixteen states, and later it became the Southern Song Dynasty, how to defend the land of Shandong?"

"Under the soldiers, where does the family exist? You can't go to the interracial race, can you? Isn't that a self-smashing hole saint's signboard? ”

For Du Ruhui's judgment, everyone nodded together, and they didn't feel worried.

Li Shimin pondered for a long time, and finally said:

"Guozijian has added Buddhism, only studying Buddhism, not entering Buddhism, how about it?"

Fang Xuanling jumped out and said:

"It's not appropriate, it's better to imitate the name of later generations, add philosophy, and study the three classics of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism in it, which can be tried out."

Li Shimin bowed his head, it's okay like this, otherwise Buddhism will take advantage of the situation, and maybe he will take the Guozijian signboard to swagger and deceive.

[Xuanzang's story was created in the Ming Dynasty into one of the famous works "Journey to the West", we all know, but some parts are slightly off:

Master Xuanzang's request to leave the country was rejected, and in the third year of Zhenguan, because of the famine, the official order allowed the hungry people to survive on their own.

Master Xuanzang listened to the persuasion and planned to go to Tianzhu to survive, but he secretly crossed the border and naturally couldn't worship Erfeng like in Journey to the West, and it was King Lu Wentai of Gaochang who worshipped Xuanzang.

This is also an unlucky guy, when he was a child, he went to the Sui Dynasty with his father Lu Boya, and took the initiative to go to the Tang Dynasty after sending off Master Xuanzang, Erfeng was very happy and was treated very well.

As a result, after returning to China, he was held hostage and participated in the Western Turkic War, attacked Yanqi, cut off the Western Regions Road, and scolded the Tang Dynasty.

So in the fourteenth year of Zhenguan, Gaochang Kingdom was destroyed by Erfeng, and Master Xuanzang worshiped his brother Li Wentai and died of fear.

When Master Xuanzang returned to China in the nineteenth year of Zhenguan, he passed by the Gaochang Protectorate, and his feelings should be more complicated. 】
