Chapter 291: On the Loser, I Never Lost
[The various factors of the fall of the Tang Dynasty can actually answer another question:
Why didn't the Song Dynasty consider Chang'an and Luoyang?
The most intuitive problem is that after the war between the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, these two places have been completely destroyed.
Taking Luoyang as an example, there were only 20,000 registered households in the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty, which is a total population of more than 100,000.
Such a population and productivity are completely insufficient to carry the central machine of Bianjing.
The fundamental reason is the problem of Cao Yun, which was more prominent in the Tang Dynasty.
Or to put it more bluntly, just two words: eat.
After all, if you are invincible in the Tang Dynasty, don't you have to obediently go to Luoyang, the eastern capital, to ask for food?
And where does Luoyang's food come from? It is transported by water to transport rice from the southeast.
Scholars of the Song dynasty also noted this problem:
"Guanzhong is known as the fertile field, but its land is narrow, and it is not enough to prepare for water and drought for the capital, so it often turns to the southeast of the millet."
After the fall of the Tang Dynasty, the Central Plains was updated with a new version:
Fixed a bug where rice could be planted north of the Yellow River, and nomad enemies would often spawn here in the future.
Fixed a bug that it would not snow in the north in winter, and the heavy snow in the north would come on time and in full in the future.
It weakened the transportation capacity of the Yellow River, reduced the grain output of Guanzhong, and put Luoyang into a state of abandonment.
Under such a series of blows, the development of the south, which had already achieved initial results during the Tang Dynasty, became more important.
After all, the north needs to face the severe cold weather and the threat of foreign raids from the south, and the production environment can be called very harsh.
The South does not need to face the iron hooves of foreign races, and the impact of the overall floating climate change on the South is relatively limited, so the southward shift of the economic center of gravity has become an inevitable trend.
In this case, if Zhao Kuangyin's head is hot, he snaps his head and forcibly closes the capital, then he doesn't dare to think about the scene of the Song Dynasty:
Money, grain, and wealth are provided with Jianghuai, border defense against the enemy is looked at Hebei, Caoyun transit is based on Bianliang, and the political center is in the middle of the pass.
If you really want to play like this, I'm afraid you don't need the donkey cart emperor to take action, and the Great Song Dynasty himself will fall apart first.
In fact, the rise of Bianjing, or Kaifeng, is also related to the Tang Dynasty.
Before the Anshi Rebellion, Guanzhong was the political and military center of the Tang Dynasty, and the money and grain center was served by Jianghuai and Hebei. The two places are connected by the Yongji Canal and the Tongji Canal respectively, and Luoyang is just in the middle of these two lifelines of money and grain, so it has become an excellent choice for the eastern capital of the Tang Dynasty.
The Anshi Rebellion made the people's livelihood in Hebei wither, and the local and central governments were suspicious of each other, and the result was that the two thighs of the Tang Dynasty in Hebei Jianghuai were directly broken, and the money, grain, and wealth of the middle and late Tang Dynasty basically depended on Jianghuai, and the Tongji Canal became the only lifeblood of the Tang Dynasty.
In this case, Bianzhou became a new balance point for maintaining the safety of Cao Yun, and eventually replaced Luoyang's position.
In fact, the Northern Song Dynasty also learned the lessons of the Tang Dynasty, and the capital of Bianjing was essentially to overlap the key nodes of military, political, financial, and transportation (transportation) to facilitate the control of the imperial court.
In the early days, Zhao Kuangyin may have really moved the mind of moving the capital to Luoyang, after all, in 972, Bianliang's annual transportation was only 500,000 stones, and the loss of moving the capital to Luoyang was fully affordable.
But ten years later, Bianliang's fortune had surged to 4 million stones in one year, and 20 years later it had surged to 6 million stones.
It's just that the long-term drive of the Jin Dynasty later also proved that Zhao Guangyi's statement that the capital of Dingdu "is not in danger in Germany" is completely empty talk. 】
"These two canals are the work of man?"
Liu Bei gasped again.
The map clearly marks that the canal in the north starts from the hometown of Zhuo County, connects the Yellow River and the Jianghuai River in the south, and its project is so huge that it is staggering just to think about it.
How much money and resources does this cost? How could this Tang Dynasty build such a big project? Why haven't you heard this junior mention it at all?
"This is not what Tang did, but the work of Sui." Pang Tong shook his head and said.
If you look at it twice, you will understand that there is a time mark next to each section of the canal, which is probably the time when the canal was completed.
According to the mark on the temperature change map, it can be seen that this long canal should be the water conservancy of the short-lived Sui Dynasty.
"However, this canal is really ......" Pang Tongzhi couldn't find a suitable adjective to express his feelings.
This picture will be very simple, Kong Ming easily described it, and then frowned and dotted over to have his own conjecture:
"The merit of this canal should be in line with the merits of the predecessors, dredging the old canal."
First of all, the slender index finger clicked on the ditch: "This ditch was dug by Wu Wangfu when he was poor, and there was a yellow ditch at that time, even Si and Ji Ershui." ”
Then the index finger moved up and said:
"Cao Cao also has the opening of the Yellow River and the Qinghe, and for the conquest of Wuhuan, there are also Kaiping and Quanzhou two canals."
briefly took stock, but in the end Kong Ming also admitted:
"This Sui can connect the old canal, dig a new canal, and connect the north and south, which can be described as a majestic achievement of ancient and modern times."
"It's just ......" Kong Ming hesitated for a moment, but finally shook his head and didn't speak.
Kong Ming hesitated, Zhang Feike couldn't help it, and Ma Chao, who immediately slapped him, jumped up and rubbed his legs on the spot, and said with a big grin:
"What is there to avoid in the military division, I can see that Lao Zhang can understand it, this Sui can't say that he is repairing the canal and repairing himself to death."
After all, to be reasonable, when the river in Chengdu was dredging, he Zhang Fei also did it himself, and he did not dig a canal when he was in his hometown of Zhuojun.
Ordinary rivers and canals are hard enough, not to mention this unprecedentedly large canal running through the north and south, and I am afraid that the number of people who have been requisitioned is unimaginable to them at this time.
Fa Zheng also felt it, and at this time he also said in a low voice:
"The death of this Sui is quite inconsistent with the climate change that this descendant said."
"Looking at the picture, you can know that the Sui Dynasty has no troubles from the chaos and cold, and there is also a rule called the rule of the emperor to recuperate, the climate is gradually warming, and there is a prosperous era."
"However, the country is less than half a hundred, and the second generation died, and the king of this dead country is unheard of in ancient times."
Ma Chao rubbed his thighs, and he was also a little curious at this time:
"What does this mean?"
Jian Yong pinched his beard and was about to say something, but Zhang Fei smiled and said:
"This is easy to hear, and it is good to slack off the government."
"That is to say, this Emperor Yang lingers every day and does not even go to the harem."
"Forehead ......" Jian Yonghao hung down and fell, dare to love the other interpretations of Yide, you don't even look at it, only see the word "good inside"?
It is true that there is reading, but there is a selective reading.
Ma Chao couldn't help but be shocked by Zhang Fei's insight, and then said without thinking:
"It's a shame to be there...... I hate it too! ”
Seeing Mr. Jian's gaze, Ma Chao immediately said solemnly:
"If the Son of Heaven follows this, how hateful the people are!"
New Year, Rush Rush!
Never be lazy, rush before the year!
