Chapter Seventy-Six: Unpacking Christmas Gifts
The next morning, Kyle wakes up to see a mountain of gifts piled up in front of his bed.
Most of them were snacks like chocolate or candy, and there were a lot more than he thought.
"A good and good student is really popular."
Kyle put them aside and proceeded to unwrap the rest of the present.
Hagrid's gift was the largest, looking like a wooden barrel covered in thick brown paper.
"Could it be the Moon Beast's ......," Kyle unpacked, a little apprehensive.
Luckily, it wasn't what he thought, Hagrid had given him a cloak of grass, and the barrel was a makeshift pot he had found, filled with dirt.
The leaves of the cloak grass still had a little dew on it, presumably he had just dug it up from the Forbidden Forest.
Kyle gave Hagrid a model of a fire dragon, the kind he used to draw lots in tournaments, which can move, fly low, and breathe fire.
Hagrid would love it.
Cedric gave him a set of Magical Quidditch Balls, along with the signatures of the Chadri Artillery players.
Kyle looked at the signature and put the book aside in disgust...... He doesn't like this team.
It is worth mentioning that Kyle's gift to Cedric is also related to Quidditch, which is his long-cherished Wimbourne Hornets signature bat.
He had written to Mrs. Weasley to mail it for her help, and it was definitely a gift full of sincerity.
For this, he was also beaten down by Mrs. Weasley, blaming him for not going home after the holidays, and saying that he must teach him a good lesson during the summer vacation.
Kyle wasn't worried at all, though.
Mrs. Weasley is very coaxing, a handmade apron by Kyle, plus a beautiful final report card, and promises that there will be no problems.
Connor's gift was a pair of self-knitted woolen gloves with Kyle's initials on them.
To Kyle's surprise, the little witch is surprisingly good at her craft, and he likes it.
It fits just right, just enough to wear with the sweater Mrs. Weasley gave him.
What he gave Connor was a handbag with an anti-theft device, which was supposed to be very practical for her.
Fred gave a bottle of ink that would disappear, and George gave a collector's book of chocolate frog cards, which was a blank transparent card holder that could be used to put the collected cards in, which was very convenient.
Kyle gives them a copy of Elementary Alchemy, which is also the textbook for the alchemy course at Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
He knew that the twins had been inventing some joke devices lately, and the book should be very helpful to them.
And his two lovely roommates.
Mikel gave him a delicate golden brooch, and Ryan gave him a set of wizarding chess.
To Kyle's surprise, he actually received a gift from the professor.
Professor Flitwick gave Kyle his notes from school, two thick notebooks from first to third years full of his understanding of the spell.
This gift can be said to be very precious.
Kyle felt a little guilty because the gift he gave to Professor Flitwick was just a simple sorley amulet.
In fact, Kyle gave gifts to each of his professors.
Professor Flitwick's amulet.
Professor McGonagall teaches a hat in the shape of a golden snitch.
Professor Sprout is a tool care kit.
Professor Oren is a walking stick.
Professor Binns is a newspaper clipping "The Three Great Schools of Magic in Europe: The Treatment of Professors"
Headmaster Dumbledore is the author of the book "One Hundred Ways to Knit Wool Socks"
And, of course, Professor Snape, who has taken great care of him in recent times, Kyle gave him a whole case of Porter-brand quick-moving shampoo as a token of gratitude.
However, he did not sign the gift, nor did he use Ratton, but instead found a random owl from the school and sent it to the owl post office in Diagon Alley, where he sent it to Professor Snape.
Although the process is a little more cumbersome, it is all worth it.
I'm sure Snape will be very touched when he receives this gift.
Kyle carefully collected Professor Flitwick's notes and opened the last gift, which Diana had given him.
It was a silver ring with a crescent moon and a brief letter underneath:
"It's a magic item that casts the Transfiguration Charm three times, and if you're in danger, inject magic into it and focus on imagining the target location, and it will take you away.
Note: It is not available inside Hogwarts Castle, but it can be used outside the castle gates, or if you don't want to take the train on vacation.
(I hope you enjoy the gift, my dear.)
Merry Christmas. )”
Is this an upgraded version of the portkey?
As soon as Kyle put the ring on his hand, it automatically fit into his skin, and Kyle tried to move his finger and found no discomfort.
Kyle loved the gift.
He'd always wanted to learn how to apparition, but because he was too young, neither Chris nor Newt would teach him.
This ring is arguably the most satisfying Christmas present he has received in 11 years.
It's just that the number of times is a little small, only three times.
Thirty times if only it were enough.
Kyle cleaned the dorm room and made it to the common room, where Connor was tiptoeing something in a large flower pot.
"What are you looking for, do you want help?" Kyle asked.
"No, I've found it." Connor pulled out a dirty cloth bag from the pot, turned her head and said, "Thank you for the Christmas present, I really need that." ”
Kyle watched as she took two Galleons out of her bag and put them into the handbag he had given him, wondering:
"Have you been throwing Galleons lately?"
"Nope." Connor shook her head and said, "But I lost two Sikko yesterday afternoon. ”
Isn't that what it means?
Kyle frowned and said, "What about your roommates, are they all home?" ”
"Well, they're all back, and now I'm alone in the dormitory." Connor said with a little excitement, "But they sent me a gift, it's a Muggle hairpin, it's beautiful." ”
Kyle rubbed his forehead, and just as he was about to say something, Connor was already running back to the dorm room in a hurry.
When she returned, she had a small wooden box in her hand.
"Look, isn't it beautiful?" Connor hands the box to Kyle.
There were seven or eight colorful hairpins inside, and the style and appearance were indeed much more novel than those in the wizarding world.
Kyle wasn't interested in any of this, though, and just took a brief look at it and prepared to return it to Connor.
But just then, he suddenly noticed that there was a small bottle underneath these hairpins, and out of curiosity, he reached out and took the hairpin that was covered with it.
"What kind of ...... is this? it? ”
Kyle's hands suddenly trembled, and he almost threw the box away, so scared that he broke out in a cold sweat, and quickly put the box on the wooden table next to him.
After calming down a bit, Kyle cautiously reached out and took the bottle out.
