Chapter 551: Interview
Stark Building, New York.
This is one of the world's most iconic buildings in New York City and is an iconic property of Tony Stark. Its exterior presents a futuristic design, with a streamlined frame combined with high-tech materials, and the main body is dominated by dark gray, which gradually narrows from the bottom to the top, forming a tapered structure that makes it look even more towering.
Stark's name on the building was destroyed during the Battle of New York, leaving only an "A" symbol left. But after all these days, they don't seem to have any intention of restoring the LOGO.
To this day, the underside of the building is still crowded with excited people.
Every day after World War I, New York was filled with fans wearing Iron Man masks and holding confessional slogans such as "Monkey Raw." Just as catching their idols in and out one day, or even just passing over their heads in their armor, it was worth the excitement of the whole day.
In fact, fans may have been more fanatical, after all, Iron Man had no shortage of fans all over the world before the Avengers was founded, and this enthusiasm reached a new peak after the First World War in New York in the original game.
But now the Avengers' role has been largely stolen by an unknown giant who has been sΓ©anced at the last moment, so even the attention is missing.
Nowadays, the topic of various institutions and public opinion around the world is focused on that giant. There was a lot of discussion, some people said that it was the secret weapon that the military had developed to press the bottom of the box, some said that it was an alien, and even more simply said that it was a manifestation of God.
Others believe that it is a new god that is different from any previous mythological system, and is named "God of Light" by these people. Soon the cult of the God of Light developed, and in the time between the war and now, it has even begun to develop a sizable number of followers around the world.
Tony Stark stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows of the building, gazing out at the rebuilding city.
The same question that came to mind as everyone elseβ
- Is the giant still there?
Or was he just passing by?
So will he come back?
If that being didn't help at the time. Or decide to take a shot at the earth in the future
He couldn't go on.
"Mr. Stark? Mr. Stark? β
He came back to his senses, glanced behind him, and said nonchalantly, "Oh, are you still there?" β
Behind him was the show's host, dressed in a shirt and jeans that seemed to him a bit dirty. On both sides are videographers with cameras on their backs.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Stark." The host smiled, "But we made an appointment for the interview, remember?" I'm John Pillinger, and I appreciate taking the time out of your busy schedule."
"Pillinger Pillinger. Well, the one who made the documentary. β
Tony sat down with his legs crossed.
"Very boring show. No offense, but really boring. But I personally like it. Ready to start? β
Pillinger smiled awkwardly, sat down across from him, and motioned to the photographer, "Gary, how are you going over there?" β
The photographer gestured "OK" to him.
"You two can sit down and get started."
Tony pondered for a moment: "By the way, what's the title of the film?" Remind me? β
"The Ghost of the New Age." Pillinger smiled, "Boring documentary. β
"Okay."
Tony made a gesture of please.
"Okay."
Pillinger took a deep breath, as if to relieve his tension, and pulled a document from the prepared bag.
"I'm now with the CEO of Stark Group, better known to the public as Iron Man. You call yourselves. Avengers, right? β
"It's not a name I came up with, I think it could have been better." Tony shrugged, "But it doesn't matter. β
"Okay Tony. Then before the Avengers, I thought about it. Is it fair that someone says you're an arms dealer? β
"It used to be." Tony nodded, "But I don't deny it." β
"In fact, we all know that the Stark Group made its fortune on arms. Yes, you don't sell arms now, but you can't ignore why such a large group is here today. β
"That's true."
"I heard that your first contract after taking over the group was with the Air Force?"
"Maybe."
"What kind of contract is it?"
"At that time, I happened to be interested in electronic miniaturization, and the Air Force found some products that could be used in the military."
"Like the 'Lotus Bomb'?"
"Sort of."
"The Lotus Bomb was originally used in the Gulf War, when I think you were still very young." "Correct me if I'm wrong," Pillinger said. A single lotus bomb can send out hundreds of 'smart' miniature bombs, right? β
"Yes, for bombing airfields and convoys."
"So the bombs all exploded as expected?" Pillinger flipped through the papers.
"You'll have to ask the military about this." Tony shrugged, "We haven't received reports of every bomb, there are thousands of them. β
"Then we have some photos and information that you might be interested in."
He handed Tony a set of photos.
"Each bomblet has the power of three explosives, and 80% of them have broken timers and are thrown everywhere on the battlefield. Even a child may pick it up and take it home. β
Tony took the picture, expressionless.
"So I'm going to tell you how many weapons inspired you to design the Iron Man armor?"
"Honestly? All. Tony said calmly.
"So Iron Man is also a military weapon."
"I don't see it that way." Tony Road.
"But to be in harmony with your other inventions, it also has weapons."
"It's all military-grade, and all the tools are lethal."
"Got it." Pillinger tapped the table with the tip of his pen, "So, Iron Man armor must have the ability to destroy on a large scale, right?" For example, you've publicly mentioned Iron Man's innovative 'repulsion' technology, is there a good side to it? β
"For example, cheap chemical-free space launches." "I could name a lot if you wished. β
"Are you currently working on these directions?"
"Not yet."
"So Iron Man is still just an industrial product for war." Pillinger Road.
"All technologies can be like that, but the money we earn has allowed us to make remarkable progress in the field of microelectronics and raise the level of social technology.
Have we ever built a weapon? Yes. Did we make our fortune off arms? Indeed it is. But that's in the past, and I've decided that we're not going to do this for the rest of our lives.
If you have any knowledge, Stark Group is now doing bio-implants, cardiotonic alternatives, and internal pain pumps. β
Pillinger leaned back in his chair, still with the same expression.
"So do you think they have your painkiller pumps in those bombed areas? Or a warzone kid whose hand was blown off, can he be influenced and inspired by Iron Man? β
The question made Tony ponder for a moment.
"I never said I wanted to be perfect." After a few moments, he continued, "I'm trying to do the right thing, at least to make the world a better place for the future." β
"Make the world a better place, thank you for your time."
β.β
Shen You casually turned on the TV during his research, and happened to put it on the interview channel. He glanced at it, but didn't pay much attention to it at first.
Starting out as an arms is Stark's character, a commonplace topic for Marvel, nothing new.
But it was a little strange for him to think about this time.
The end of the Battle of New York coincided with the height of Iron Man's popularity, and it was strange that there was a show that sang such a contradictory tune. What's even stranger is that Tony Stark would actually give this kind of interview.
It felt a little different from what he remembered.
At this time, the Stark Building.
The interview ended and the camera was turned off. Pillinger stood up and shook Tony's hand.
The moment he stopped filming, the host seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, as if relieved. He couldn't help but look puzzled as he shook Tony's hand.
"Thank you very much again for your cooperation, Mr. Stark. But I still find it strange. You're Iron Man, and you're fighting for the world in New York, Mr. Stark. We are all grateful for that.
Even now, the slogans of your supporters are on the ground floor, and your reputation is now skyrocketing. All media and all the program groups want to interview you, and all of them will not hesitate to praise you"
After a pause, he said strangely.
"But why us, sir? You know what our program team does, and you also know what we film. We can say that we are going against the times, why do you want me to say that you are interviewed by us? β
Tony didn't answer the question, but said, "I'll ask first." Why do you say I'm a 'ghost of the new age'? β
"Because the weapons you invented in the past still make the hearts of those who have been attacked linger."
"Okay." Tony got up, "I promised, just because I wanted to see you." You've been working on this kind of subject for a long time, so have you really changed anything?
You work so hard that most of the time you don't know what you're doing. You're sensible, critical, radical, but people ignore you, Mr. Pillinger. β
After a pause, he asked again.
"So, what have you changed?"
This time it was the host who was stunned.
It took him a moment before he said, "I don't know." β
"Me too." Tony held out his hand, "Nice to meet you." β
"Me too."
The host hurriedly reached out and held it.
"It's also my pleasure to meet you."
