Chapter 393: Thestrals
After the sumptuous dinner, everyone returned to their common room.
As he walked out of the auditorium, Kyle was suddenly stopped.
"Looks like I'm just in the right place."
Professor Dumbledore stood at the door of the Great Hall and led Kyle directly into the aisle when he saw him.
"Remember the letter you asked me to deliver the other day?"
He said, "I received a reply from Nicol at noon today, and he asked me to send you over during the holidays.
"So, are you going to borrow Fox? If it were you, it shouldn't say no. ”
I don't know if it's an illusion, Kyle vaguely smells a sour smell.
He shook his head and asked:
“…… Is there any other way? ”
Kyle doesn't want to be taken by the phoenix if it's possible, and while it's the fastest way to go, it's too savage...... He couldn't take it anymore.
Professor Dumbledore thought for a moment, "Of course, just a little slower. ”
"It's okay." Kyle hurriedly said, "I'm not in a hurry. ”
"Alright then......"
The two talked for a while, and it was about a few minutes before Kyle returned to the Hufflepuff common room.
Because tomorrow is the holiday, the students are all excited, sitting there talking loudly about their plans for the next two weeks.
Kyle doesn't participate in their discussion, instead heading straight back to the dorm.
……
The next day, Kyle gets up as usual, and there is no one in the dorm room anymore, so he packs up his things and pushes open the dorm door.
The common room was empty, except for Connor, sitting in a chair near the fireplace, doing her homework.
After hearing the movement, she casually raised her head and said:
"Hello, Winsty...... Wait, Kyle? ”
Surprised, Connor jumped up from her chair and pulled Kyle to run out.
"Hurry, hurry...... Hopefully, the train hasn't left yet. She said anxiously, "Really, why did you wake up now, you knew I was going to call you." ”
"Don't worry, it's okay."
Kyle grabbed her arm with his backhand and explained, "The train had already left ten minutes ago, and I had other arrangements to avoid the train." ”
"Another arrangement?" Connor gave him a puzzled look, "You've decided to stay on campus too?" ”
"It's not." Kyle shook his head, "I just don't have to take the train, remember Professor Dumbledore yesterday when he came to me for this." ”
Connor breathed a sigh of relief when he said this, and turned back to his previous seat.
"Why are you alone, Cedric?" Kyle asked.
"Out of the house." "I went out early in the morning, and I didn't say where I went. ”
"You're the only one left here?"
"No, and Winsty, a fifth-grader."
Kyle nodded, and went to the kitchen to get some food.
It wasn't until about ten o'clock in the morning, when Cedric never returned, when a brown owl flew in through the window and threw a note to Kyle.
"I've got to go." Kyle looked at the contents, stood up and said:
"Have a great holiday and Merry Christmas!"
"Merry Christmas!"
Leaving the common room, Kyle did not go to Hogsmeade Station, but instead made a turn on a fork in the road near the platform to the place where they had been riding in the carriage when school started.
It's a very remote place, and usually hardly anyone comes here, but today it was an exception.
"Kyle, this way!"
Hagrid seemed to have been waiting here, and when he saw Kyle, he quickly beckoned.
There was also a horse-drawn carriage parked next to him.
Unlike the one used at the beginning of the school year, there were three Thestrals in front of the carriage.
"The principal told me you might need this."
Hagrid flapped the wings of his Thestrals and said with a smile, "Are you going home?"
"If you want me to say your choice is fantastic, what Hogwarts Express, Thestrals are the best means of transportation.
"But remember to take care of them when you get home, I've got enough food for these little ones in the compartment for two weeks."
"Thanks, Hagrid." Kyle stepped forward and smiled, "But I didn't borrow Thestrals to avoid taking the train...... Moreover, Professor Dumbledore would not agree to such a request.
"It's just that the place I'm going to is a bit hidden, and I can't get to it by train or rider bus, so I have to choose this more ancient way of getting around."
"So, no wonder ......"
Hagrid didn't ask where Kyle was going, but asked, "Have you ever ridden this before?" ”
"Nope." Kyle shook his head.
He didn't know if Newt had Thestrals in his chest, maybe ...... But he'd never seen it, let alone ride in a Thestrals.
After all, he hadn't been able to see this magical animal until the last two years.
After Kyle got into the carriage, Hagrid handed him the reins.
"Take it easy, they're smart, the carriage is safe enough, all you have to do is trust them."
As Kyle grabbed the reins, the Thestrals in the middle glanced back at him and let out a short chirp, as if asking when it would be time to go.
"Anytime." Kyle said, "You know the location, right?" ”
Thestrals nodded, spreading her wings sharply.
The fallen leaves on the ground were blown in all directions, and after the carriage had galloped forward for some distance, it suddenly took off into the air and flew into the sky.
Kyle poked his head out of the carriage, Hagrid was standing in place waving his arms, and Kyle waved his hand.
The carriage was moving fast, and Hagrid's figure grew smaller and smaller, until he turned a corner and was completely out of sight.
Horse-drawn carriages weave through the clouds, over mountains, villages, and then bustling towns and cities......
But no matter where they went, the people below didn't notice anything unusual.
Kyle noticed that there were a few hidden magic symbols in the carriage that lit up slightly, and if he read it correctly, it should mean "hidden".
Two hours later, Kyle also sees the Hogwarts Express.
From his current position, the train looked small like a toy, and the Thestrals quickly chased it from the rear to the front of the car, leaving it far behind.
It's no wonder that Hagrid looked down on the Hogwarts Express so much before, and in terms of speed alone, the Thestrals won completely.
And the comfort is not comparable.
At such a fast speed, he was still flying, but Kyle in the carriage didn't feel the bump at all.
It was like sitting in the auditorium of a castle.
It wasn't until the train disappeared from sight that Kyle didn't look outside.
The main thing is that further on, the clouds have already begun to thicken.
Just now, he just opened the crack slightly, and the cold and humid air outside would smash into his face in large chunks, which was really uncomfortable.
