Chapter 19: Toruvelle

The female elf is tall and slender, with black hair.

Her shaggy black hair was casually draped over her shoulders, and she wore a thin braid on each sideburn.

She wore a green satin blouse with a loose leather waistcoat over it, tight sheepskin trousers and riding boots, and a colorful silk scarf tied around her waist that covered most of her thighs.

She has long eyelashes, unusually pale skin, and chapped lips. He wears a necklace that is wrapped around his neck several times, the beads of which are made of carved gold birch, and the rope is a tough thin leather rope.

On the whole, there is a heroic female warrior temperament.

Seeing that the two witchers did not speak, the black-haired female elf instantly raised her voice and asked in a louder voice:

"Tell me, witcher, what are you here for?"

And as she shouted, the elven archers on the tree also raised their bows and arrows demonstratively.

Wayne glanced at Geralt, and saw that the white wolf had a straight face, with a dumb expression, and was not ready to speak, so he took the initiative to take a step forward and said to the female elf:

"Ma'am, we followed the footprints to find two young men who had been lost to chopping wood."

"Their mother, who entrusted this task, wants us to bring people back."

"Looking for someone?"

The elf chewed on the word, and after a few seconds, she grabbed a hemp rope, swung it cleanly from the branch, walked to a position seven or eight meters away from Wayne in a few steps, looked at his pointed ears, and suddenly asked:

"You are also an elf, you should know very well what kind of treatment our non-human race has suffered in the kingdom of Kodwin, why do you still help those humans on their mission?"

When Wayne heard this, the expression on his face did not change, and he still maintained a calm tone, and said:

"Yes, ma'am, I have a part of elven blood, a half-elf."

"But I'm also a demon hunter, and we demon hunters uphold the principle of neutrality, and we will not participate in the struggle between forces, nor will we take sides with any force."

When the female elf heard this, a mocking smile appeared on her face, and she said indignantly:

"You can remain neutral, but those people won't let you go because of that."

"Many of our compatriots did not resist because they wanted to live in peace with humans, and then their corpses were all hung from trees or swallowed by wild dogs."

"Humans are selfish and despicable, they can't tolerate any inhuman race, and you should know how many elves have died under their massacre."

The female elf didn't expect her words to be able to move, and the two legendary emotionless witchers in front of her.

She just wanted to control the indignation in her heart, and after saying this, the female elf restrained the anger on her face, and with a tough attitude, said:

"My name is Torruville, and I'm the leader of these elven dwarves."

"The two men you are looking for are our captives."

"But I'm not going to hand over the captives to you for nothing."

"You're either going to go to war with us and get the people back, or you're going to do a little bit of work for us, and when we trust you enough, we'll let those two humans go."

When Wayne heard this, he immediately frowned, he had some impression of the name Torruville.

This female elf seems to be one of the high-ranking officers of the Squirrel Party in the future, and is the core figure of the Squirrel Party, and in the original plot, there are also some small stories with Geralt and Dandrien.

However, the Squirrel Party was not officially formed until more than a decade later, during the first Nilfgaard invasion.

There should be no formal resistance organization among the inhuman races now, but they exist in the form of stragglers, they are forced to hide in the forests and wilderness, and now they are most likely just a group of desperate poor people persecuted by humans.

And according to Torruville, does she also have a commission that they need to complete?

Wayne thought for a few seconds, then turned to Geralt and whispered:

"This group of elves should also have a commission, should we accept it?"

Geralt shrugged his shoulders and said indifferently:

"As long as we maintain a neutral attitude, as long as we go to kill monsters, we can accept anyone's request."

Wayne understood what Geralt meant, and turned to Toluvire with a smile.

"Miss Torruville, if the little job you're talking about is a commission to hunt monsters, we can accept it."

"However, as witchers, we must be paid accordingly, and we must not work in vain."

"And if you can, I want you to release the two young men now, their mother has been waiting for three days, and if it drags on, the old man may die of grief."

Seeing the female elf's impatient look, Wayne hurriedly added:

"But please rest assured, we will definitely keep our promises, and the long-lived elves should have heard about the credibility of our demon hunters."

Torruviel did seem to be in great need of the witcher's help, she squinted at Wayne and thought about it for more than ten seconds before she said in a deep voice:

"Don't call me lady, I'm not a lady, half-elf."

"We can release them first, but you have to make sure that."

"Those two young men can't give up our place."

"Moreover, you can only send your companion back alone, and you must stay with us as a hostage."

Wayne was not afraid that these inhuman races would be against him, and just as he was looking for an opportunity to break Geralt apart, he smiled and nodded, and said:

"No problem, Toruvelle, my name is Wayne."

"I think you can use the safety of the village and his mother Misha to intimidate those two young men, they are just countrymen, and they should not dare to offend warriors like you."

Hearing this, Torruvier looked at Wayne with some surprise, as if he didn't expect him to make such a suggestion.

The female elf thought for a moment, then suddenly turned to a male elf in the tree and shouted:

"Take care of the witchers, I'll take people out, and if they dare to mess around, I'll shoot them."

With that, Toruvelle turned and walked into the cave, leaving the elven archers on the tree staring at the two of them like prisoners.

Wayne and the elves looked at each other a few times, a little embarrassed, he turned his head to look at Geralt, and when he saw that the white wolf was also looking at him, he asked:

"What's wrong, Geralt?"

In a slightly reproachful voice, the white wolf admonished:

"You were a little impulsive, Wayne, it's not safe to stay here alone."

"We witchers have to fulfill the commission, but we must also be responsible for our own safety, and we must learn to give up when we encounter dangerous tasks."

"You only choose to take risks if you have to go deep into danger."

"Remember, witchers aren't heroes, never have been."

Wayne knew that this was a sign that Geralt cared about him, although the white wolf himself was often born and died for missions, and this was not convincing in his mouth at all.

But he is really sincere to his friends and relatives.

He patted Geralt on the shoulder, and in a sincere and confident voice, he said:

"Don't worry, Geralt, I'm sure."

"Wait a minute, you take those two people back to the village, hand over the commission, and I'll stay here to find out the situation."

"Wait until tomorrow, when we meet here to discuss the elves' commission."

Now that the matter has been decided, Geralt has no choice.

After waiting for about ten minutes, Torruviel walked out of the cave with ropes tied to two humans whose heads were covered with black cloth.

She pulled the rope, walked up to Wayne, handed it to Wayne's hand, and said:

"I've already told them that when you go back, you'll say that the two of them were chased by wolves and hid in a tree for three days."

"If they dare to reveal our whereabouts, I will take people to their village and kill them."

Wayne glanced at the two people whose heads were covered and who were trembling, nodded, then put the rope in the hands of the white wolf, and said:

"Take them back before it gets dark."

"It's best to wait until they get to the vicinity of the village before unraveling them."

"It's for the safety of these inhuman races, but it's also for the protection of the village."
